  • 2.0l dohc valve shaft seals change

Hello fans , my 90’s scorpio with 2.0 l dohc 120 hp has 250000 km without any problems down , but needs since about 20000 km strongly rising oil-currently almost 2l to 1000km ; think that valve shaft seals have to be changed ;does anyone have experience ? read in my workshop book that the hydroplugs have to be renewed . Does that mean and why ? can you pull down the valve springs with universal lever or do you need Ford special tool . Does this with built-in head and compressed air via spark plug bore or better head decrease ? Thanks for help fourfan

  • Mondeo 1.8 TD, year 97, start trucks

Hello, our 1.8 TD is jerking after a longer standstill. My friend (really nice) advised me to change the hand pump. I made the day before yesterday. Problem remains. Foreign air somehow fits the fault picture, because the problem always occurs after a longer standing, summer like winter. Does anyone have an idea?

  • Mondeo needed, what awaits me?

Hi, I’m going to be 18 and have been thinking about a car for a while now. The Ford Mondeo of the Nau years 94-97 are about in my price frame. A station wagon would also fit me quite well How about the durability, typical weaknesses and so on. Can you recommend the car as a used car? Thanks Wholefish

  • Mondeo Tournament/Wind Noise

Hello forum members, I would like to buy a Mondeo tournament Bj.05/2002. I have heard from a colleague ( he also drives a ) that there are problems with wind noises on the A and B pillars in the tournament. Supposedly there is a conversion set of various door rubbers for this problem of Ford. However, his car will only be converted in 2 months so that he can not tell me any price yet. It should be so that Ford will take over some of the costs on a culant. Does anyone of you then know how high the own share will be and how one can see if the conversion has already been made. I have to buy a Ford from a VW dealer and that unfortunately has no idea about it, but would possibly take over the conversion costs at Ford. Furthermore, I would be interested if there is a checklist what I should consider when buying a used one. It is a Mondeo tournament 05/02 2.0 Lieter 145 PS with hand-operated and all kinds of schnickschnack like multimedia system and Navi and Ghia equipment. Would really be super if someone could help me so much ahead.

  • Mondeo for young drivers?

Hey people, I’m about to buy a Ford Mondeo. But somehow the Mondeo has an “Opa image”!? So that this car isn’t driven by young drivers. So on the one hand it doesn’t matter to me, the car is good. But I don’t want to regret anything in 1 year or so! So that you can imagine it all better, I’ll write down some data of the Mondeo and you can tell me if it’s a good offer! I hope for numerous answers (and hope that I don’t attack anyone with the “Opi image” is just such a guess) FORD Mondeo Ghia 4/5 door first registration 04/1995 mileage 104,000Km kW/PS 85/116 exterior color Bordeaux-Red-Me metallic interior color Black gears 5 cylinder 4 cylinder 1796 cm3 doors 5 These extras(!): ABS, catalyst, air conditioning, aluminum rims, winter tires.

  • Activated carbon filter/brakes Mondeo 01

Hello! I had my Mondeo 2.0 TDDI today at the inspection (80000 km). By the way, cost 160 €. On the assumption I said that it should be as cheap as possible. I was offered not to change the activated carbon filter, since one can put it off. Is that ok? Where does the filter actually sit, I can change it myself?! With Dieter basket “Now I help myself” I found nothing, and also the view into the engine compartment did not help me. Where do I buy it cheaply? In addition, it was found that the front brakes hold up to a maximum of 5000 km. In fact, the discs are already clearly worn out, a clear inrun edge is to be felt at the outer edge. The brake locks are of course already clearly worn out. Can one use brake discs from another manufacturer, which should then be of course cheaper?

  • Mondeo TDCi tournament engine recommendation

Hello to each other, with me soon a new company car will be due and since we will get offspring in the next days, it will certainly no longer be a BMW 118d, as before. After I have looked around the MT forum for a long time, the Mondeo tournament comes into question for me. Now I am faced with the question which of the TDCi engines is the most recommended one. The topic is that I have set an upper limit for the car of Euro 31.000 due to the tax load (42 km work path). For this I can get a super equipped 115 HP or a 155 HP TDCi with “stomach food”. In the last car picture the smaller diesel was tested and has been convincingly cut off engine-technically, however it was the saloon and I am not sure that the engine with the extra weight of the tournament is also so well clear. I am just very spoiled with the BMW diesel engine. The belly says 155 HP, the head (buyman) 115 HP. Thanks for your tips ebe206

  • Rust on the doors

Hello, well, now I also have rust at all the doors of the Mondeo (EZ 4/2002). There is a guarantee against rusty (12 years). My Ford workshop will send a report to Cologne. There will then decide what is done. In my opinion it is impossible to get the rust at my doors permanently under control. An exchange of the doors would be the best and in the long term probably also the most economical. Who has experience with the topic and can give me tips?

  • Advice for Ford newcomer 🙂

Hello first of all I’m new here in the forum, which is due to the fact that I have only driven Opel up to now (currently Astra F Caravan with the C16SE 1.6l 8V 101 PS Bj 1994) I would like to drive something else. Therefore I looked at a used Ford at a dealer yesterday. This is one: Ford Mondeo 16V GLX (4/5 door) [Fliehheck] 71500 km 85 KW (petrol) EZ: 12/97 Exhaust standard D3 TÜV/AU 01/09 Automatic gearbox The vehicle has ABS, Z entral lock with radio, el. immobilizer, 5 headrests, electric outside mirror, rear and front middle armrest, split folding rear seat, electrically adjustable rear seat, adjustable steering wheel, car paint painted bumper, air conditioning and is checkbook maintained. The last customer service was at the beginning of February this year. The car looks very well maintained and comes from 1st hand. inside it actually looks like new, steering wheel is not picked up, pedal rubbers look gu The paint is up to a small spot on the rear mirror OK The vehicle starts without problems and is very quiet. Engine runs around in N gear at around 7-900 revolutions. The gears can also be switched easily (so: P-D-N-R-1-2 um, I think the order is wrong, but you know what I mean ) What else should such a car cost max.? I would get it with a year warranty (as I said, by dealer) Which weakness? Is the engine power for the car OK? I tested the scales only once on the road. He wasn’t as sparkling as my Opel, but I found it OK (how does it look on the highway) once a big thanks FLOh
