Last time I saw a report, that you can save fuel with changed software for the engine control. Should the Mondeo probably cost 250 € and bring about 15% savings. Nepp or serious alternative compared to any water that you should pour into the engine or tank? I’m curious about your opinions and possible reviews!

Rust!!
Hello, my father-in-law has the following problem with his Mondeo Bj. 2001: both front doors show rust on the lower edges. Question: 1. Is this a model-specific problem? 2. What about the warranty of Ford?? Otherwise a perfect car with which he is very satisfied. I thank you already in advance for any answers.

Where best to measure Fhz?
Hello, can someone tell me where I can have my Mondeo measured well and cost-effectively and with a calm conscience? I asked at a Ford workshop, but they want more than 90 euros for it. Fhz pulls to the right and steering wheel is wrong. Thank you. Ralf

Seeing door-edge rust positive?
Hello guys. I brought my little rust carrot to the FFH today. All four doors have pitted… The request at the Fordwerke was granted positive after two weeks. Now I have already read the 1000 threads on the topic of edge rust and want to say nothing further, but I want to try to win the whole thing off something positive. So: If they don’t exchange the door, but only reseal and paint, then they paint the entire door also from outside or only inside? Ic h has many small scratches and a parking ramper on the great protective strips of the previous owner in it. I have now also read that you can do the bad from time to time. Should then also actually also get new ones..? So I want to try to be happy about the rust, so write me your experiences. Greetings, Richard

Mondeo 2,2L TDCI no top speed
Hi, first hello. I’m new here and I’m curious what you say about it: I got a new Mondeo 2,2 TDCI station wagon in September 05. At first I was completely excited, because the car had a brutal drive. Was already impressed by my old TDI, but this was outstanding. Recently, however, it seems to me that there is not so much going on, since I am constantly driving around with 2 children and dog, but I also don’t call off permanent performance. So far the case has been 3 times (in the 5th gear at approx. 1500 rpm – everything is off and within half a second again), and then I don’t even get close to Vmax. The car is indicated with 218, with a lot of running I can only 205 on the speedometer. With Ford you don’t know anything about it and a mistake was not made either. The 2.2 TDCI of another workshop customer goes to Tacho after all 230. Maybe one of them knows what this could be?

Door handle shells Mondeo
Hello! I had to find out that at my Mondeo tournament (Bj 2003) on the front inner door handles the paint is peeling off. My first thought was: scratched by the previous owner and painted over! The car had only 1 previous owner and only 15000 down when I bought it! My workshop told me that this is a disease with the new models and is also known. In the course of the extended warranty Ford would cover 30€/part and 30% of the installation costs…! Door!! Has someone gained experience and is it cheaper? Greeting Ben

Durability of the Mondeo engines
Hello! After having informed me about a car up to 3000 euros at the used car portals, I often came across Mondeos Built 94-95. What about the durability of the engines beyond 135,000 KM in general? Would it be advisable to look for a 2.5 V6 (6-cylinders last longer?!) or are the 4-cylinder 115 and 136 hp in general also durable? Thank you for your help! Greeting Manuel

Mondeo SCI at very low speed
I read here that the SCI (also in the 6th gear???) with very low speeds (from approx. 1,250) can be easily driven and practice this without any problems. This means switching down if I want to speed up faster in the 6th gear at 60 KM/h, but is very fuel-saving. Now an acquaintance told me that this means too heavy a load on the crankshaft and is very harmful. Can anyone say anything about this? Thank you in advance!

Climate control / automatic climate control
@ everyone is familiar with the climate automatics of the current Mondeos. The A/C button in the climatetronics gets me a bit confused. If I’m in car mode, then depending on whether it’s warm or cold outside is made by cooling or heating that my chosen temp. in the interior is reached. Is the right thing? What kind of function does the A/C button have? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything in the forum – just in case, that there is already something to say- Greeting

12V coffee machine only when the engine is switched off?
Hello, have just bought me a 12V coffee machine for the Mondeo and now read in the user manual that you should use it only when the engine is switched off. Now my question, is there a danger for the device when the engine is running and can it be eliminated by a simple electronic component? The reason for my question is that my battery is already loaded enough due to mainly short distance driving and I do not know if it also has a coffee machine. thanks and greetings
