  • Oil change at ATU (Mondeo 99)

Hello, I brought my Mondeo 99 year of construction to the ATU because of an oil change. On the bill now it says: ATU OEL What kind of oil is that? Then they filled in 5W-40 partly. Does that do anything at all? Is this ideal for a Mondeo? According to Castrol, should I use 5W-30. Is this better for a Mondeo? Thanks and greeting Johannes

  • Accident! Rear of truck decorated…

Caps, since after now 19 years driving also caught me, even if I was not to blame. My car was prescriptively parked in a parking space. A backward shunting truck probably thought that the rear of my beautiful Mondeos could be changed and then did so. So the tailgate decorated over the whole width: -Heckklappe milled through a 3cm deep mega scratcher over the whole length, Nummeschildbeluctung and handle completely torn off. -Heckklappe milled down through a 3cm deep mega scratcher over the whole length. left is 3cm away (so spoiled) – Left lamp torn down. That’s what I could see on the fast in the permanent rain. Police has recorded accident. Afterwards I drive to fFH, opponent insurance says, to have damage rough estimate, if over 2000 euros, then expert. Do I have now actually an accident car ? If yes, then there is compensation for impairment, or ???? Need in any case replacement cars, if lamp can not be fixed, then immediately (without lamp left f r I don’t…)

  • Urgent braking problem

Hello colleagues, when laymen make…. I tried today to change the brake pads on the rear wheel (Mondeo MK 3, 2.0 TDCI). I worked cleanly according to manual. Unfortunately, when turning back the brake piston I overlooked that the limousine is set clockwise against clockwise and the tournament (which I have) clockwise (left side). So I turned hard against the clock. Now the piston is so far outside that I can not get it turned back in again. What can i I really need help. Of course, the car is in my garage and I could only have it brought to the workshop with the tow truck. I am grateful for every tip. Thomas

  • Mondeo Bj. 96 Kind of funny to steer….

With my 96-Mondeo I noticed the following problem when driving. If I drive straight ahead, there is a car pulling in all directions somehow. This is as if the vehicle would lose contact to the road. Especially in right curves the problem is there. An axle measurement as well as a tyre change (on new winter tires) brought hardly an improvement……. Is this normal with a car of this size with this age on the hump ?? Had an old Seat Cordoba before and not such Problems… .. Greetings, Uli

  • Separation network Mondeo Kombi

Hello, I’m looking for a separation net for my Mondeo Kombi/2005. however, the price for the original part (approx. 180EUR) is a bit too high. I have often seen something needed. however, the holders for the roof sky where you then hang the net is missing.. how do these mounts actually look. you can order the one at Ford individually or someone knows a price-wise alternative to the originals. but it should not be a grid. the f ind i’m terrible. i’m so that these nets are now mandatory for transportation of e.g. dogs. am i right there? in advance Thanks for any tips greeting

  • Steering wheel Mondeo MK3 change ?!

Good evening Ford municipality, Since my leather steering wheel of my MK3 was already quite worn out I got myself a brand new steering wheel. The dismantling of the airbag was quite easy, had to loosen only 2 Torx screws at the steering wheel back side. (so far managed) TO MY QUESTION: Hanging on the airbag (backside inside) 3 cables, one could easily be clipped, but the yellow colored other 2 can only be plugged directly at the airbag unit. disconnected battery ??? Bzw. has anyone ever changed their MK3 steering wheel? THANK YOU for your information. Greetings Ronny

  • Heating, thermostat, coolant temperature sensor, temperature indicator, heating control valve

I have a Scorpio Ez 3/92, 2l DOHC 88KW/120 hp. The heating barely got warm and the hose from the thermostat to the cooler is not really hot. The coolant temperature indicator has been standing since I bought the car (at 178000 km – today 202000 km) always at the bottom of the white field of the indicator. Strange was and is that the temperature indicator even in the city traffic and in the traffic jam does not increase a little, but even further down to just below the white indicator field could also the coolant temperature sensor be defective? The heater only worked half-way if it wasn’t exactly cold. I changed the thermostat and installed one of ATU. My old thermostat had a vent valve, which was not from ATU. Was that a wrong one? I then let the engine warm up. It only came out of the ventilation nozzles for a short time. Otherwise only cold air. The hose to the cooler is now really hot. I often read about a heating control valve. Does the engine have one? I have no air conditioning. Where does it sit? Could the problem be this, or is it just the exchange of the heater cooler (heat exchanger)? Who can help and has had similar problem?

  • Register winter ice cream or not ???

Hello people after a long silence I get back to you and need a little information since my Mondi is driving perfectly after many small defective ones. I don’t have much to write about it. but I’m glad that everything fits again (knock on wood just three times) that it stays that way. now to the question so since yesterday I have my winter tires on 205 / 55 / 16 on steel rims(looks at the K**** but is only the winter) however as already known in the new vehicle only one size for matures is registered my tyre dealer said I would have to ask Ffh for an application or such a safety certificate but I would have to pay with 15 eurons which seems to me personally very expensive for a sheet of paper to print out. therefore my question I get problems at the next police check ?? I have to have the matures entered at the Tüv or does this funny certificate and I get the only one at the Ffh? Thanks f or your laboring in advance, and grinned to all Milek.

  • Seat heating: wobble contact or temperature dependent?

Hei Leutz, my seat heating is spinning… the last days at temperatures of 0°C she didn’t go, today it’s just +12 and she’s going again… Question: Can it be that the seat heating is “somehow” connected to the climate control, or (outside) temperature is dependent on it? Perhaps so: At low temperatures it heats more… With today’s cars with CAN bus and all possible automatisms you never know what is related to it. Or is that just a wobble contact in the wiring? This is why I’m not running back to the WS again and only reaping “dumb” answers, but I’m also prepared for them.

  • Autom. Abbl. rear-view mirror in Mondeo MK3

Moin together, I have in my Mondeo MK3 BJ 2001 this automatically blinding rear view mirror in it. Last winter it worked as far as I know without problems, but lately the part just doesn’t hide anymore, unless I washed my car Actually, the mirror should only have a sensor that points backwards and determines the brightness of the descendants and one forwards, which maybe determines how bright it is outside. At least I think that it is so fu Does any of you know this problem, or does anyone have any idea what that might be about? Because every week in the car wash I find it too expensive.
