  • 40k inspection TDCi – thumb down !

Hello together. Today I was at the “dealer of my trust” and had the 40000-inspection carried out at my 2003 Mondeo TDCi. The following things should also be fixed: -dirty, very annoying noises from the pulleys in idle-running in the partial load range at 1800 rpm -rust bubbles at the rear left door -wind noises at driver’s door When picking up the big disillusionment : 225,56 Euro !! And then the service consultant : To the roaring: “The noise in idle k Ford is working on a solution. But I don’t know how long this will take.” To the rust bubbles: “door has to be removed and repainted”. I: “But the car is not 2 years old.” He: “That’s what happens….” To kick: “That’s normal. However, we still have a new software set up” (Ruggling, of course, still there) And the classic to the wind noises: “That’s state of the art at the Mondeo.” And in order to complete everything, a mechanic with his dirty coat has put himself in my light beige leather equipment… Conclusion: A lot of money paid, problems still there. So much for the competent workshop service Gruss WeKoe

  • Coating on door handles MK3

Hello, I have read here a long time ago in a thread that this funny coating on the inner door handles at the Mondeo MK3 replaces itself over time. It was also talked about that you can remove this coating when it has become unsightly. So, now it is known that the built-in plastic is quite scratch-sensitive. Now I wanted to ask how you got this coating down? I hope you understand what I mean. Greeting Bernhard

  • Cold-rolling controllers

Today I installed my cold running controller in my Mondeo MK 1. It was not that easy now. It was not as easy to install the temperature sensor as it is described. After I had dismantled the entire intake tract, I saw no way to get to the supply hose of the cooling water to the heating to install the temperature sensor there. Only after I had removed the complete air filter housing, I came to this hose. In order not to drain the cooling water I made 2 wooden strips each about 8 cm long and equipped with 9 mm holes at the ends, 2 bulges, with which I compressed the hose by means of 8 mm screws. Then I separated the hose and installed the temperature sensor there. The workshop has special pliers for this. The connection and the installation of the air hoses was then however a child’s play and was done in a few minutes. After I had assembled everything again and I started the cold engine e, the speed was increased by the KLR very slightly more than before. After I drove the engine warm, I had to find that when I went off the gas, the speed went below the 900 rpm and the engine sawed. After slightly giving gas it then went to normal speed. This repeated several times. What can be done there at the KLR and how and where ? Try it again tomorrow in normal driving mode. Will anyway tomorrow to the KÜS and the installation inspect and confirm Then immediately to the registration office for the re-encryption. I received from the tax office the new decision for 2005 for the car tax (without re-encryption), the increase is quite happy. Now it becomes cheaper by the classification in Euro 2 as now. Greetings, Norbert

  • Daytime running light / day light

Hello! With us in Austria it is soon mandatory to drive with light on the day. No problem for me, since I have always managed it this way. But now there are some cars, which do not require the constant turn-up and turn-off of the light. If you take off the key, the light also goes off. At the next start the light burns again. Can you retrofit such a system with the Mondeo 2,5 V6 Traveller 07/2001? Thank you for your help! lg, Steves

  • Mondeo TDCi Automatic – what can you consume?

Mondeo TDCi automatic – what can you consume? Hi, I’d like to know what your Mondeo (TDCi, 130hp, with or without automatic) consumes. Please indicate which routes you are driving. I’m going to start with: average: approx. 9l (40% city / 60% city highway) at a constant 160km/h: 8.2l country road at an average 90km/h: approx. 6l full speed: approx. 10 to 11l This coincides roughly with the factory specifications. I’m just surprised that in all possible forums I always have something between 6 ,5 and 7.5 liters read. How is that? Only highway without automatic? Now it’s your turn…

  • mondeo / disaster car

Hello together. Would like to get rid of my anger about our Mondeo, TDDI, Ez 10/01, km 67000, 1.Hd.. Experience report: At Km 16000: Central locking automatically locks all doors, even during the ride and with short-term disengagement (Kulanz). At Km 44000: brake caliper at the rear left. Both brake discs replaced (no bulance). At Km 46000: spring bone fracture at the front right (during a holiday trip). Fzg no longer rollable (Ford only took over the repair. Costs for necessary car rental, no indication. Processing of the certificate request took 5 months. At km-stand 67000(current) engine total failure at speed 140 on the highway. Vehicle no longer starts and was towed from the ADAC to the Ford dealer, where it stands since then. Cost forecast lt dealer: Between 250 and 2000€!!!!!!! Sporadic occurred again and again idling saws and unmotivated, independent acceleration without the accelerator pedal being pressed. Of course ro Both rear doors are already standing quite considerably after 2 years. One door was derusted and painted by Ford, the other one is left like this. No question, we have never owned such a car before.

  • restless running Scorpio 24V

Hello together! For some time now I have a problem with the 24V engine in the Scorpio. The engine runs quite restlessly in idle mode (the engine block shakes), but at increased speeds it gets better but not enough good. In addition, a flap (even in warm condition) can be heard on the right side of the engine. It is not a loud hit, but an unusual and clearly audible noise. The engine has m.E. full power and no oil or water consumption/ With the request for quick tip’s!!!!!

  • Unround motor run ???

Hello guys, I’ve got a really nice problem. I drive a Mondeo Built February 96 with the 1.6l 16V machine. For some time now my engine has been running unevenly. In addition, it consumes 13.5 l on 100km with economical driving and the values of the AU are far from good and evil. It runs far too fat. Before it ran like a clockwork.Hab driven it with 8l. We have already made the vacuum hoses, the ignition cables, the spark plugs, seal from the Khrümer to the Kat. New Lambda probe and new air mass The values are still bad. I brought him to Ford a few days ago with the task to find the fault. There it was said, the engine and all the attachments are in order. He was also connected to testers. After a calculation of 100€ I was told that it was possible to find the cat. This is to be used and thus the exhaust gases are to be stored. I was advised to blow it out nicely on the track once. Said done. Now he runs to the track. auso sch. as before, if not worse. Do you have any advice? I already put a lot of money into the thing and so slowly I don’t like it anymore. Games with the idea to sell it.

  • Oil change at Mr.Wash

Yesterday my Mondi got the complete spa pack from Mr.Wash. Washing / interior cleaning and still polishing for 23€! You can’t complain about it. And at the end a 55€ oil change with Shell Helix 0W-40. Are there any opinions about the Helix 0W-40 of you? Did any of you in it? Before the change I asked Google. There are some entries in BMW Foen that have the Helix in it. In my opinion is not a bad argument for the SUppe.
