  • To all with Mondeo V6 !!!

Hello, everyone with Móndeo V6! Who cares about his engine please read! My father bought last week a Mondeo V6 Bj. end 94 as an “evasive vehicle” since his MB W124 300TD with 400tkm already from time to time gets his quirks! Jetz we are with the Mondeo with 148tkm of course also test drives and I have especially looked at what the water pump or water temperature does! It is apparently a big problem with the water pumps! If you look on the Internet for Mondeo V6 indet one some with head seal damage etc. so all damages what can come through overheat! Jetz he drove with the Mondeo about 1tkm and see it begornt to cook! You don’t look at the water temp all the time. and don’t notice it when it gets too hot! We just noticed because it smelled like cooling water! We stopped with several times and motor drove the 20km to home! I then immediately removed the water pump and see there was nothing left of the shovel wheel! (rubber shovel wheel) So of course a new one had to come as soon as possible! I ordered one in the accessory of “Quinton Hazell”! It has a cast wheel and it is “only” the water pump insert! (Ford there is only the complete one for just over 160€! The one in the accessory costs just 67€ and is incl. seal! The installation of the wapu (I have the thermostat incl. seal with renewed) takes about 20 min.! I can really only recommend it to anyone! the water pump is missing as soon as possible (if it has not yet been changed by a cast wheel) to renew! If you let it be done at ford with the accessory water pump I estimate it to 130€ and who can do it himself with 80-90€uro incl. thermostat easily get along! So I wanted to get rid of it so that there is no more Mondeo V6 motor damage to buy! 😉 (The V6 is very vulnerable to heat)

  • Should I access? Mondeo Festival

Hello all, I am currently looking for a new used car and need your help. I have already searched through other forums and already asked in the Opel forum for a vehicle, but now you are on it. 😛 Today I visited the following car: Ford Mondeo Festival 1.8 16V – year 1998 – 113.000km – silver metallic – climate, electric window lifter, electric seat lift, central locking, CD radio, ASR, sports seats (the essential) – 3rd hand (last owner had him the last en 75tkm) – well-kept exterior noticeable complaints: driver’s seat slightly “scattered” on the left side –> fabric slightly opened – only a few small scratches – timing belt change not yet completed (Is the interval at 120,000km?) Since the car was deregistered, I was unfortunately only able to drive back and forth in the road, as far as everything is in order, I only noticed that the accelerator is “more difficult to press” than with other vehicles I have driven up to now (s ind not so many) [is that perhaps normal with the Mondeo?] There are 4 winter tires on steel rims. The car made a good impression and looked really nice. Personally only the scouring place at the seat disturbed me (makes the picture a bit broken) The price: He wanted 280€, for 260€ I can have it. What do you say? I am happy about every advice. How expensive is the tooth change about? How do you find the price? I know there are some questions, I thank you so much! zt schonmal für jede Antwort. So, thank you again and beautiful Easter. Greetings.

  • Test switching suction tube

How do you test the function of the switching suction tube (IRMC) for the MKII-V6 with automatic? It has a speed limiter in P and N, so I can’t just turn up to 3500 at idle and watch…

  • Fix the floor mats?

Unfortunately, I have the problem that I always pull the floor mat back with the clutch foot, when I let the clutch come, because I put my heel down on the floor and then when the car rolls my foot away and probably take the floor mat with me. Stupid, but is that so, and I will hardly change my starting behavior. Does someone have a similar problem and therefore somehow fixed the floor mat?? If yes, how? Adhesive tape or such half solutions I close the door Some vehicles have eyelets in the floor mats, so you can hook them into existing pins, which are anchored in the ground. Unfortunately, the Mondeo does not have that.

  • What does not fit is made suitable

Hi, after which it had first announced itself before 40,000km, on my Mondeo 130Ps TDCI, today at 260,000km a injection nozzle broke. My friend noticed the flashing pre-glallamp and brought the car to the Ford dealer. There the fault memory was read out, a defective nozzle on cylinder 1 was detected and exchanged. 6h later I could pick it up again for 470€ ransom. At the first traffic light one could admire the remarkably quiet engine run. So from test the BAB 200km/h, then some country road and city. Just listen through and carefully to all the speeds. Schwubs somewhere was a funny noise, very quiet, completely hidden. And at the traffic light it smells like DIESEL! Therefore bonnet on and me looking at the crap!http://deepspace19.homeip.net/pub/Fotos/DSC00039.JPGhttp://deepspace19.homeip.net/pub/Fotos/DSC00040.JPG Really strong! So the engine around cylinder 1 was wet with diesel and so I still had something to laugh about squirts e it also from the screw connection nozzle/cylinder head. For me it looks as if someone had ordered a false injection line and that had to be inside! Whether it was suitable or not was made suitable. The whole thing with such high voltage was mounted that nothing could be dense any more. What only amazes me, most diesel seems to come directly from the connection cylinder head <-> nozzle. Therefore, I suspect that the nozzle should also be over again. Or What do you think? I think the Ford can repeat the exercise in the morning completely with new parts. Maybe someone can explain to me what kind of line they put in me? Greetings Garon

  • Cooling water loss Scorpio 2,3

Hi, I drive a 97-er Scorpio 2,3. On the way from my workplace, I noticed that the steam is coming out of the engine compartment. Then I went home at the snail’s pace and did research on the causes. The whole engine compartment was wet sprayed from top to bottom. After a detailed test of the hoses, which did not show anything, I looked at the thermostat housing and see there, a crack!. Nothing happens in idle mode, but as soon as you increase the speed to about 2500 rpm, one really strong fountain. Has one of you ever had such a thing?. Overheats the thermostat?. Or why does such a part?. Only age phenomenon?. Where do you get such a part (except at Ford) ?. Loves new!. What costs such a thing?. Is it special to consider when swapping etws?. About one, or in this case several answers, I would be happy…

  • Engine temperature

Hi, I’ve had such a little problem with my ́95 Scorpio 2.0 16V Always had the engine temperature too high, so now only 2hands were wide higher than normal, but I changed the WaPu. The temperature is ok, but if I switch the car to operating temperature and then briefly, about 5min, is the temperature over the half of the display, even after 20km the temperature is still net again at normal level. Does anyone have any idea what that could be. Dan Don’t you guys ever MfG Pike

  • Who drives with 0W-30 oil in 2.0 TDCI ?

Hello, since 40000 kilometers I use the 0W-30 oil. My dealer had also recommended this wg. fuel saving, motor-friendly etc. . Now there are many different opinions about the 0W-30 (like water, too thin, motor-damaging). Since my driving performance is 30000km a year I want to have the engine long enough of course 🙂 What kind of oil do you have? What do you say about the 0W-30 ?
