  • Water constantly drips into the driver’s compartment

My problem: My Ford Transit Tourneo, BJ 01/05, is leaking – in other words – I have always had water in the driver’s footroom. My workshop has already had the car 10 times to seal – each time found something new (at the last time – again sealed the outside mirror ), but this morning (after a rainy night) the water ran into the footroom. I have even found the place, w o the water drips into the driver’s compartment, but the workshop unfortunately does not find the “way of the water”… The water drips out of a cable opening above the wheel box (there are two black hoses coming out) – so from the Holm – only, where can it come from there??? I am really desperate – drive now since December 2007 without floor mats… anyone still has a good suggestion, what it can be?? Windshield was changed and thus reglued – nevertheless the water entrance. Workshop doesn’t know where to look anymore… LG Grit

  • All-wheel drive vs. ESP

My Transit Euroline is now over 10 years old and I would like to buy a new one. Meanwhile there are two main applications: a) with light load short and long distances (up to 500km) to the customer b) with heavy load and large trailer short and long distances to the customer Up to now I have often had problems in winter, with sometimes in the snow did not get away. That’s why I waited longingly for the four-wheel version. Unfortunately, I was told by Ford that I now have to decide: All-wheel drive and ESP are not in combination. )-: What is more important for me? All-wheel (better get away) or ESP (safety on slippery roads)? I am grateful for good advice!

  • How much wear and tear

I drive a Euroline petrol truck 2.0l BJ 1996 with 115hp. I also use it professionally with heavy trailer. Now it happens every few months that you have to push a heavy trailer backwards up the mountain to get into a narrow driveway. The process takes 10 to 20 seconds. Unfortunately, the engine has too little power and the clutch grinds along (otherwise it goes off). After that it smells terrible … Do I really think that this stench from the wear of the clutch k How often does the car do such a thing? Is this a great wear and tear or is it mainly just a smell problem? How do you value it?

  • Euroline brake drums

Hall people, My Transit year 2004 has had the problem since the beginning that the brake drums rub at the rear with stronger brakes. I was therefore already in the workshop, where I had been told that the rubbing would come from the brake distribution system and showed me a scrap of Ford. But when the rubbing did not get better, I went to the workshop again and they did something, what I don’t know. Allegedly the drums were changed, which I don’t believe. The workshop told me that it was on the tires, or if you change the tires, it was supposed to affect the drums. Has any of you had similar experiences. I am at the end with my patience towards the workshop and will insist on eliminating the defect immediately, no matter with what effort. Greeting Olli

  • Transit Tourneo Box Bj 2007: Eberspächer additional heating makes no sound

Hi, my 10 years old transit, year 2007 with 2 batteries has this time even ne programmable fuel-powered additional heating, as the Ford operating instructions say. … apparently from Eberspächer, with the operating unit “Mini clock, model 3”. This “Mini clock 3” (according to laboriously found in the net Eberspächer original operating instructions) has after all already the year 2002. (!) Problem : The heating part unfortunately does not work. Once after all the heating started, but probably unintentionally. But I didn’t repeat it later. Of course I first studied the operating instructions of the cars, which is very poor. Then I browsed the net (it was here with you) around, and found at least many instructive basic information about heaters, and about frequent operating errors. Unfortunately useless. The part doesn’t make a sound! Now I have registered here, because I want to get the part to run somehow, before the winter is over, but without Ford contract workshop. I will try on Monday, (in the car master of my trust) is: – disconnect the battery and reconnect it again, to cancel any programmed forced shutdown of the heating, then possibly let the – error memory read out if useless, probably then – the control/cleaning of installed fuel filters or the – control of the diesel pump would be called for or, if unsuccessful, – an exchange of the glow candle. I know so far unfortunately n Not yet, which model was installed. Well, as far as my situation is concerned. But I hope to be able to produce a already chubby warm car soon, with your kind help! One last question: worth a cell phone remote control and wat dat? thank you in advance, Nikkk Knatterton.

  • Error message BLIS – Transverse traffic sensor

Hello colleagues, recently our Tourneo Connect Grand (EZ 17) has the error: BLIS transverse traffic sensor malfunction. Does anyone know that, one of you has ever had the error? According to Ford Werkstatt the control unit should be defective and they want 1200 Euro plus installation and pick-up control. Can you program this out or can you fix it cheaper?

  • Solar charge and electrical questions

I had a transit FT 350 (2.4 L, 116 HP, 2011) converted to a camper and installed solar panel + solar battery. Because the camper has relatively long service life, would be practically the 2 on-board batteries (2 batteries under the driver seat) also to supply with solar charge. An acquaintance of mine meant that I had to attach a 3 way switch to the plus cable to the solar battery ( between charging module and solar battery), from which the plus cable to the on-board battery is the negative cable coming from the negative pole of the solar battery to the body. This could be changed, the solar battery and the onboard batteries charge. Is among us a professional here, who can confirm or correct this ?? And …… who knows which of the 2 batteries is responsible for starting ??

  • Glow plugs broken?

Hello, today I also have a naïve question in the round for the 2.2 l engine with 155 hp in the Tourneo: Are defective glow plugs displayed in the instrument cluster or is there an error in the engine control unit? Or can you only measure current and resistance? Background: I had the car in the friendly one because of lack of performance and poor gas acceptance at low speeds. As the only problem were some defective glow plugs determined and replaced (all 4). g an indicator (Autool) that can also read (restricted) error messages. That had not shown me anything in advance, there was no start problem either. However, I now had problems with the first frost after the repair. When looking under the hood I could not find any traces of the repair. Everything still as dusty as before. Therefore I have a strange feeling. Today I measured the candles times: tension arrives and passage they also have. So before I get upset, I’d rather ask: Do broken glow candles make a mistake or do you only come up with a measurement? In the rest of the car today, when it comes to plus degrees, it runs like a bee again. Let’s see if it gets frosty again.

  • A short time after start, bright noise sounds and shortly afterwards only emergency run at 1700 rpm

Hi together, I got into my Transit Custom today (at -6°C) (last trip only 3 days ago, i.e. to the TÜV, which I passed without any problems), and after about 300 meters a bright noise sounded, which I could not find at first. I did not know if it just comes from outside or from the car itself, I also turned around on the radio, whether it comes from it. It was then also for a short time again clearly brighter/higher and after a further approx. 200 meters it jerked then Suddenly and the engine only turned up to 1700 revolutions (no matter in which gear). In the BC only “Service necessary” appeared. I then ran right, switched off the engine and restarted again. For a few seconds the problem seemed to be gone, because I could turn higher again and no message appeared in the BC, but finally the game started again from the beginning. I noticed then that I heard a new noise as soon as I switched on the ignition: h ttps://youtube.com/shorts/gKqzVAMycJ0?si=421v2eJJxms8uKUJ sounds like a siren and I don’t think it’s what I heard before the emergency run program while driving, but I can also be mistaken. I couldn’t exactly locate it, but it didn’t seem to come out of the engine compartment, but rather from the area under the driver’s door. Can that be the fuel pump?

  • Transit Euroline purchase advice

Hi, I plan to purchase a transit Euroline or a VW Multivan in the next six months (or even a little later). In this forum I have read several articles about rust problems during transit. Is this also true for newer years of construction, from 2002 until today????? If I buy one of the two cars, I intend to drive it until it falls apart. And this should not be the case so quickly, with such an investment. P.S. I’m driving a Ford Focus year 2001 with the 1.8 Tddi Moror with 90 hp and I’m super satisfied with the car. It’s only slowly becoming too small. Before the Focus I had an escort and before that a Sierra. I’ve never had any problems with rust at all and was also happy with my plum cars 🙂
