  • Transit only travels 90kmh, can it possibly be the thermostat?

I have a Ford Transit Bj. 1996 2.5 Diesel vacuum cleaner. I have already done a lot: – Injector nozzles cleaned (injector cleaner + ultrasonic) – Intake manifold cleaned (was real like soot in about 1cm) – in front of Kat clamped down and tried out I had also once unscrewed the thermostat, because cooling water was out. The seal was gone… I then thought that it works better with Loctide surface seal … well wrong thought -> on test drive the cooling water is complete The engine was at a good operating temperature for the first time and went really well for the first time, of course only until I realized that the cooling water was empty, then I was right on it and filled it up. Well long speech short sense… My guess is that the thermostat may be broken (time open) and therefore the engine will not get really warm. The cooling water indicator is always so at the bottom of the “normal” marking. Makes sense and brings it What if I exchange the thermostat? Would be really happy about a tip!

  • Engine noise when idle from the inside too loud !!!

Hello everyone, I bought my first Ford and already on the 2nd drive has diminished the enthusiasm, I feel engine much too loud at idle (while I wait at the traffic light etc.) even the feeling that the whole cockpit vibrates. but if I continue driving, then it’s all ok again (so I knew Ford is pretty loud but I didn’t expect that loud either. The car has only 300Km so day registration. Does anyone have experience with Ford ?? Thanks in advance LG

  • Transit 7th generation from year 14

Hello dear Ford forum I would like to increase a transit from Bj14 and then expand as a camper. Unfortunately I am somewhat limited from my space conditions of the parking space. I have only 4.7 m available, after that it goes down a few meters. Width and height (3 m) are no problem. Thus the L3 does not run out, because I already stand a bit on the sidewalk through the longer wheelbase and the front overhang and the garden gate no longer approaches. L2, preferably as H3. I couldn’t read this out from the documents if this is a front or rear wheel drive. (I prefer a 4×4, but this is certainly difficult as a used one.) Does anyone know if there is a front or rear wheel drive? Is there also the possibility of retrofitting all-wheel drive? Is it possible for the L2 to install a second bench? Is there already negative reports about the engine with this model? The predecessor (2.2 l) does have often had engine problems …. I know many questions. I hope you have the answers Thank you and lG

  • Purchase and step-by-step processing of my Ford Transit Bus built in 1983

Hello, I would like to have you part in the reprocessing (restoration light) of my transit. Purchased 2014 as an alternative to the buses of VW as a leisure bus and for holiday trips. First step it was to make him a bit comfortable, because the technology is ok, he had a year Tüv and was ready to drive. So far only beautification work was necessary. This month carburettor was cleaned and adjusted, distributor cap and fingers changed. In April he comes to the bodywork master of the I removed the few caries spots and removed the bump at the rear left under the bumper. bonnet was dented and repainted and in the course a concerned front sheet was also repainted. Front sheet was blasted before and slight unevenness of said body master smoothed. In the interior I replaced the gray seats for which from the preliminary series, front the floor insulated and designed with carpet. The rear area is also revised. In May, after my holiday, I decided to leave behind a trailer coupling and at least a dirt catcher for the rear. Small things like the exchange of incorrectly mounted indicators etc. I will leave behind. In May, after my holiday, I will be able to reach the end of the day. I will be able to find out more about the safety of the car and the safety of the car. if I reweld it, then I can paint the paintr at the front and at the back and I will install the new front sheet afterwards. Then it goes to the Tüv and to the H-certification. more follows………….

  • Brake front left always gets hot 2.5D Bj 90

Hi, again a problem: And this is the following: When driving in the city the left rim gets much hotter than the right. Everything is ok on long highways (without brakes). So far I have done: -brake saddle completely overhauled -new discs and coverings – of course I also cleaned the hub properly from rust -new wheel bearing -brake hose is ordered, but since the ventilation nipple-open-and-then-wheel-turning attempt did not bring any change, I don’t think about it But only when I grab the top and bottom of the wheel, left and right shake does not reveal any game. – The new brake disc has a blow, perhaps 1-2mm in the mounted condition What I think: There is something wrong with the wheel hub and or the axle stub. I also remember in the context of how I sometimes sweep off a slippery road in a curve and the road ditch mic What I want to say: The left front wheel certainly got a little more load than usual during the action. What should I do next? Change hub from left to right could bring insights… Does anyone here still have parts: wheel hub and axle stub for transit? Has anyone ever ordered from the transit center? The shipping costs are really awesome…

  • Long-term experiences / opinions on Ford Connect

Hello. Since about a 3/4 year I drive a Fiat Doblo natural gas as a business car. Apart from the favorable consumption I can unfortunately find hardly positive on the vehicle. Therefore I now have to sell the vehicle again and possibly to switch back to the Ford warehouse. (Had 3 years a Puma 1.7) Currently I have a 2004 Connect in the eye with long wheelbase and the 1.8 TDCI engine with 90 hp. Are the models recommended or. what for flaws are problems with the model b Ekannt !? I don’t want to experience a fall like in the Doblo again !!! Thanks in advance

  • Motor damage Transit Year of manufacture 2007, 2,2 L TDCI Motor 131 hp

Have a camper on transit chassis with 2.2 l TDCI engine, 131 hp. This engine has suffered an engine damage at 35,000 KM in France without notice. At speed 80 km/h with switched on cruise control suddenly no more power. Strong smoke generation from the exhaust. The Ford workshop in France made the following diagnosis after towing there after checking the oil level, which was in order: engine broken! Estimate of 8.200,00 € for the repair was u The RV was transported home by the ADAC and we were brought a rental car to travel home from Germany. I can only report positive about the ADAC. Help for us without end and you had the feeling that you were not alone. Simply class of this ADAC!!! The Fordwerkstatt in our home town expanded the engine after professional diagnosis and disassembled the engine. Hole and crack in a piston. Cause: Probably a defective Inje ktor, where the emphasis is probably on this! Estimate of 8,800.00 € was handed over to us. We were advised not to apply for a certificate, as this is certainly rejected by Ford and if, then only in the amount of max. 10% of the sum. After loud negotiations the costs could be reduced by approx. 1,600.00 €! Great my negotiating skill! Since I felt absolutely pulled over the table by this workshop, I took my camper out of this workshop and d commissioned another Ford workshop with the repair. I can only recommend this car dealership with workshop, because here a proper work was done during the renewal of the engine. The damage picture of the engine is however not a rare at 35,000 KM at Ford. In various forums this event of the engine damage with this engine was described already very often and the pictures of the piston could come from my engine. It is only a pity the Ford here according to the other I was already drawn in advance by the Fordwerkstatt in my home town of this tooth. My conclusion about Ford is therefore not exactly good. Ford – they do what?

  • Rear flap does not unlock after manual locking from the inside

Hello dear people! We just bought a Tourneo Custom Titanium (06/2017) and I have a little problem with the rear flap lock. I hope someone can help me with this. It’s just that if we press the button for the door lock at the start of the journey (driver or passenger side) and then unlock it again over this button after the end of the journey, unfortunately the rear flap is not unlocked with us. press nopf on the key remote control to unlock it. If you do not lock by a button in the interior during the ride, then the tailgate is of course not locked. In the menu of the on-board computer the hook is set on “all unlock”. Even if I go to the locked vehicle and open with the remote control (1x press), the tailgate is free and I can open it. Does anyone know this behavior and can tell me how to fix it? Many Thanks for your help! Greetings Marc

  • Ford Transit mk2 3,5t RV or car registration tax & insurance

Questions and problems Insurance: Actually wanted to allow my 30-year-old converted transit mk2 as a camper but now he does not have the specified standing height, which could become a disaster for me. Can one allow such a transit as a passenger car? those of the insurance can not allegedly calculate it as a passenger car. Tax: The tax would be less expensive without Euronorm as a camper. After the Tüv it should be made suitable Euro1, then the passenger car tax would be cheaper. According to Internet: Passenger car Lk w Euro0 608€ 480€ without cat petrol Euro1 363€ 480€ Euro2 176€ 320€ In transit a 2.4 litre V6 petrol engine with g-cat was installed. efi v6 Only for the registration of the engine without the Euronorm the Tüv already required an exhaust gas report. In the demand report I also thought to get the Euro1, but stupid cheap universal catalysts made me a dash through the bill. Before the test, the engine had mastered the Au values of the donor vehicle. al a Euronorm can be installed calmly 9/10 cheaper kats, because the Au limits are so high. In a new exhaust gas report I hope to get a suitable emission key, with which hopefully more accurate results. By color holes and Pi-pa-po no hkenmark possible.

  • Air in the Diesel System

Please give me an explanation where this can come from and sorry for the somewhat longer text.. The transe arranges itself a wolf and does not start. I put a transparent hose from the diesel filter to the pump and found that a lot of air is pumped with it when the air is ventilated.. new diesel filter installed again still tries a lot of air in the hose forever. Two transparent hoses connected to the pump and nailed into a canister and see that Transe runs. Now I wanted it I’m going to tap the diesel filter housing but what’s going to break it? The diaphragm of the vent pump looks like tip top. Maybe someone has a tip for me what I can still look at before I order such a big case. Thanks for your help.
