New topic New Happiness… Here is a picture of my (quite) fucked-up Ford RS rims 14 inches , with new 185/60 tyres by BF Goodrich. I lack an RS sign on the rim cover, does jmd have one? or best 4 more beautiful ones left? Or vll even better: has jmd horny 14incher left for sale? Otherwise I would have it prepared, jmd knows the cost point at something like that? Thank you Thank you

Speed high or low??
I have often heard that for older vehicles the fuel consumption should be lower if you keep the speed high. I run an escort BJ: 93, about 260 tkm. Now my question to you: Does my Ford already count among the “older cars” and makes sense to keep the speed higher? If so, at about how much U/min. ?? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Electr. FH Retrofitting
Hello, I now want to upgrade the electr.FH. For the conversion I got cheap original EFH and switch. Unfortunately my MK7 BJ96 1.8l GAL did not have the “big” wire harness in it, ie. the cables for the EFH are not available. After a little google ́n I came across the following result. Switch layout: Pin1 – EFH Motor Pin2 – Ignition plus Pin3 – Mass Pin4 – Mass Lighting Pin5 – Instrument lighting + Pin6 – Mass Pin7 – EFH Motor So now my questions 1: Kan I don’t know what kind of currents there are in the electrical system. I don’t have too much pleasure that will burn the car under full load (radio on, electr.FH on) because of the overload and burn the car off. 3:With Pin1 and Pin7 I go directly to the connections of the engine or? I read in a different thread. 3:With Pin1 and Pin7 I go directly to the connections of the engine or? , that from the MK7 no relays for the electr. FH were installed more? For better suggestions I always have an open ear. Thanks already for reading and for the helpful answers. Wish all still a nice, long Pentecost weekend

Escort Cabrio MK5 Deck broken – solution??!
Hey dear MT community, I didn’t really want to ask this question at all, but I’ve been looking for it in vain for two weeks and hope to get some help here. Now to the situation: I own a Ford Escort Cabrio ’92 (MK5) with 105 hp and an electronic cover. Unfortunately, the roof is torn in the typical places of the Ford, so it doesn’t help to patch or any reperture set. I need a new cover. However, there’s only the outer skin, since sky and sky is too small. d scaffolding, in my opinion, works completely without any objection. So time a search at Google, brings me only to some stupid and dubious side. A look at ebay.de leaves me with the fear that there would be legendary three or four providers that offer this convertible blanket, however in the 250€ area. I think this is also a tick cheaper, but I don’t know now where I find such a thing (cheaper). Do you have any tips for me?

Used Escort purchase. What to pay attention to?
Hiho, the probability that I will see an Escort 16V (AAL) 90hp Bj.11/98 on Monday now hardens around the 100%. ^^ Do you have any tips or a list of what a bloody layman like me must pay attention to during test drive and under-the-car look on this model? The car has run 75tkm. Not particularly much for a 98 year of construction or? I know e.g. from the Mondeo and its children’s diseases: – crossbars and seal bellows in front, as well as wheel bearings and the joints de r Hanging – Steering game – rust on tank opening, wheel box and door sills – Timing belt is probably not an issue at 75tkm Where could still be hidden quirks that would cost me nerves and money after buying and discovering ? Thanks already for the answers. Cheers, Peter

Where does he come from and what can I do?
Hello! Last summer I discovered a whole bunch of oil sludge in my engine and then tipped a cleaning additive into the oil, drove about 300km and then made an oil change myself to run the whole mud thoroughly. Have used Valvoline 5W30, is that good? (so I mean the oil mark, 5W30 is recommended) Now I have the same problem again. Sludge where the eye goes. I can do it again now, but I wonder why m What can I do about it and what are the possibilities for cleaning the engine? I probably wouldn’t have noticed at all, but my engine always has speed problems with which it almost drains me. I drive the MK VI 1.3L, that’s the HCS engine. He has this flutter or Novo valve in the air filter box that also muds and therefore doesn’t work properly anymore. Conclusion: Oil in the air-gas-mixture… that doesn’t burn well, of course. And the car eats oil without end. Will now change the valve first. I also changed the oil filler last year, because it was also muddy. Thanks for your tips in advance.

Navi TravelPilot usable?
Hello, after 3 years Mondeo TDCi I have to order my next service car (leasing) this week. Of course it will be a Mondeo TDCi tournament again. Only with the Navi I still have some stomach pain. The DVD system is definitely too expensive for me (high surcharge to employer). Price is actually only the blue point “TravelPilot” for almost 1000 Euro at TREND equipment. Is this apparently quite simple system recommended? Who has the thing from you and can possibly from eig. Thank you in advance! Greetings Primus
