  • Mondeo SCI at very low speed

I read here that the SCI (also in the 6th gear???) with very low speeds (from approx. 1,250) can be easily driven and practice this without any problems. This means switching down if I want to speed up faster in the 6th gear at 60 KM/h, but is very fuel-saving. Now an acquaintance told me that this means too heavy a load on the crankshaft and is very harmful. Can anyone say anything about this? Thank you in advance!

  • Climate control / automatic climate control

@ everyone is familiar with the climate automatics of the current Mondeos. The A/C button in the climatetronics gets me a bit confused. If I’m in car mode, then depending on whether it’s warm or cold outside is made by cooling or heating that my chosen temp. in the interior is reached. Is the right thing? What kind of function does the A/C button have? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything in the forum – just in case, that there is already something to say- Greeting

  • 12V coffee machine only when the engine is switched off?

Hello, have just bought me a 12V coffee machine for the Mondeo and now read in the user manual that you should use it only when the engine is switched off. Now my question, is there a danger for the device when the engine is running and can it be eliminated by a simple electronic component? The reason for my question is that my battery is already loaded enough due to mainly short distance driving and I do not know if it also has a coffee machine. thanks and greetings

  • Oil change at ATU (Mondeo 99)

Hello, I brought my Mondeo 99 year of construction to the ATU because of an oil change. On the bill now it says: ATU OEL What kind of oil is that? Then they filled in 5W-40 partly. Does that do anything at all? Is this ideal for a Mondeo? According to Castrol, should I use 5W-30. Is this better for a Mondeo? Thanks and greeting Johannes

  • New Fiesta – Extension Equipment List?

Hello, the new Fiesta is not sooo long on the market. Recently there was a facelift. With this I connected the hope that stronger engines or more interesting equipment features are added, such as – diesel engine with 109 hp (from the focus) – xenon headlights (possibly with curve light) – soot particle filters – modern automatic transmission (instead of the 4-stage automatic) It is incomprehensible to me that not at least partly at Ford try to match the competition I consider the Fiesta to be underpowered by diesel. For example, the VW Group offers 130 hp diesels in Polo and Fabia. According to rumors, the new Punto is to come with 150 hp diesels in addition to the previous 120/130 hp diesels. In this respect, a 109 hp with DPF already available in the Ford Group would be the least! (like Peugot 206). Why Xenon has been dispensed with so far remains puzzling to me. Likewise with the outdated 4-speed automatic. Hof The new Fiesta is in itself a good car with a really good chassis. In this respect, you also have reserves, which is not least proven by the ST. Does anyone know more? Ciao, Fan.

  • Ask for purchase advice!

Halli Hello, now it’s finally time for my girlfriend to get a car (and I’m no longer the coachman) and then the question arises which small car now; since her previous one was a FIAT bravo we are accordingly pre-damaged and skeptical, because the car was probably the biggest dung bucket I have ever seen; well, so we have an offer straight: – Ford Fiesta, BJ. 96,75 PS 53000 Km; 1.Hd; approx. 3600,- (it seems a bit expensive) to choose would also no ch stand an opel corsa or a peugeot 206; request for experiences and recommendations regarding year of construction / performance / PS; buy Ford/Opel/Peugeot? (the half-life should be as high as possible….) Hopefully you can help me, have no desire for a fiasco as with the fiat…. gruss, ben

  • Accident! Rear of truck decorated…

Caps, since after now 19 years driving also caught me, even if I was not to blame. My car was prescriptively parked in a parking space. A backward shunting truck probably thought that the rear of my beautiful Mondeos could be changed and then did so. So the tailgate decorated over the whole width: -Heckklappe milled through a 3cm deep mega scratcher over the whole length, Nummeschildbeluctung and handle completely torn off. -Heckklappe milled down through a 3cm deep mega scratcher over the whole length. left is 3cm away (so spoiled) – Left lamp torn down. That’s what I could see on the fast in the permanent rain. Police has recorded accident. Afterwards I drive to fFH, opponent insurance says, to have damage rough estimate, if over 2000 euros, then expert. Do I have now actually an accident car ? If yes, then there is compensation for impairment, or ???? Need in any case replacement cars, if lamp can not be fixed, then immediately (without lamp left f r I don’t…)

  • Urgent braking problem

Hello colleagues, when laymen make…. I tried today to change the brake pads on the rear wheel (Mondeo MK 3, 2.0 TDCI). I worked cleanly according to manual. Unfortunately, when turning back the brake piston I overlooked that the limousine is set clockwise against clockwise and the tournament (which I have) clockwise (left side). So I turned hard against the clock. Now the piston is so far outside that I can not get it turned back in again. What can i I really need help. Of course, the car is in my garage and I could only have it brought to the workshop with the tow truck. I am grateful for every tip. Thomas

  • Mondeo Bj. 96 Kind of funny to steer….

With my 96-Mondeo I noticed the following problem when driving. If I drive straight ahead, there is a car pulling in all directions somehow. This is as if the vehicle would lose contact to the road. Especially in right curves the problem is there. An axle measurement as well as a tyre change (on new winter tires) brought hardly an improvement……. Is this normal with a car of this size with this age on the hump ?? Had an old Seat Cordoba before and not such Problems… .. Greetings, Uli

  • Separation network Mondeo Kombi

Hello, I’m looking for a separation net for my Mondeo Kombi/2005. however, the price for the original part (approx. 180EUR) is a bit too high. I have often seen something needed. however, the holders for the roof sky where you then hang the net is missing.. how do these mounts actually look. you can order the one at Ford individually or someone knows a price-wise alternative to the originals. but it should not be a grid. the f ind i’m terrible. i’m so that these nets are now mandatory for transportation of e.g. dogs. am i right there? in advance Thanks for any tips greeting
