    Good evening my loved ones.. oh man my Essi worries me most for 13 years this year … First the rust had to go away (removed) then the dampers (removed) then comes the clutch after 56,000 km (will be brought tomorrow in workshop) & now still the LMM? .. because as I didn’t want to grate in my stubborn head then as it was undisturbed the clutch ..(is she aba jeze nevertheless) I thought it was the LMM first .. well & yesterday my buddy once said we tested ma your LMM or or if I’m already in the emergency run (or as it is called) .. naja & motor on … plug from LMM off & the speed remained right on costant 1,000 U.. o.O. so will he be after all?     Hello, a friend of mine has a 96 Escort with 1.4L petrol. It runs sporadically only on 3 cylinders, especially when it is warm. A spark plug is black or badly worn, all the others are ok. Can one somehow read a fault memory with the Escort? I drive a 2001 VW Lupo and own the corresponding ODB interface, the question is only whether this is at all standardized, or only works with VW engines. Or else there are any typical errors with the EDB I had the same problem with the Lupo, because it was the ignition cables. Is that also known with the Escort? Is it a bit stupid, because you can’t see the effects directly without OBD, for example, if you exchange 2 cables with each other. Do you have an idea?

  • Performance holes and jerks

    Hey guys, so I’ve been having a big problem with my Ford Escort mk7 1.6 90Ps for two months now! So easy running in empty speed is always going up and down! Then being driving heavy power loss and when driving on the highway the power just goes down to felt 50%! In addition, sometimes the car jerks from 1 to 3 speed extremely doll as if you were constantly giving full throttle and then a full throttle. So far I have used new spark plugs and nd new spark plug cable as well as a new air filter car is running much better but the performance holes are still there as well as that when starting no power is there when the car is started for the first time. Ruckeln did not appear again until now but only tested it for two days. already in advance thanks for the help

    Moinsen ,I took a funny rappel ́n out of the gearbox today at my 1.6l Cabrio Essi bj91 5-speed switch 77/105ps? ! 1.if I hit the clutch is not to be heard. 2.if I drive slowly in the 4th or 5th also not to hear. 3.if I drive slowly in the 1st or 2nd then I hear a rappel ́n out of the gearbox? ! 4.if I let it roll out slowly with 1st or 2nd gear then you can hear that too . …no idea what that should be , never heard such a thing. I had a a chsmanschette made new on the wheel side and seen that my gearbox was a bit oily from below, I just took a flap and wiped it away. …possibly comes the noise of too little oil ? or can it be the backstock? but funny is that it is usually heard when rolling out in the 1st or 2nd possible also 3. course !? running power 05678 105tkm or 205tkm ??? maybe someone had similar noises and can say what it is.

    Hello, I’m new here and I’ve already read through some contributions. absolutely super….the forum,the people here and the help among each other. ok, I would also have a question: my escort (which I’m very proud of,dead 1.4 l machine) has,so I think, a immobilizer. recognisable by the keys with the red point. to the vehicle: escort cabrio, MK7, 1,4 l, bauj.`97, 55kw, everything manually (window,roof,etc.) how I know if the immobilizer is active. here is in a contribution,w he also in my operating manual, flashing sensor at the clock. if I see this correctly with me, but there is nothing flashing. the timing instructions are not specific for a model,but,for different executions. would be nice if someone could help me there.

    Hello guys, there would have been a question about fuel consumption and tyre pressure. I calculated my fuel consumption this month and came to almost 10 liters per 100 KM, which seems to me a little high. I have to say that I am mainly on the road in urban traffic and I am also on the road quickly with highway rides, so 130-150 KM/h. Switching into the next higher gear I do at about 3,000 uPm. Oil change with filter I made before about 4,000 KM with HighStar 5W40, as well spark plugs (Motorcra What I want to mention is the fact that my “Essi” in idle mode always moves between 1000-1100 uPm, which is probably also a bit high and could probably also have an effect on consumption. LLRV, DK-Poti and KWGEV as well as sensor in the intake tract have already been renewed, thus speed fluctuations went away but idle speed remained unchanged. LMM is also ok (if I pull plugs, it starts stuttering and goes into emergency run program). Fuel consumption real? What does your “Essi” consume on average? Tyre pressure is certainly also a topic in fuel consumption. How much air do you drive, for example, are the predefined values in my BA from FORD optimal?     Hello all, I have an Escort 1.6 16V built 93 155 tKM. The following has happened, I drove about 200 KM at a time, with a rest after 180 KM I heard a sawing noise coming from the engine. I drove further, then after about 4 more KM occasionally lighted up the oil lamp, stopped and oil level checked everything i.e. noise was gone. I drove further at reduced speed, oil lamp came now more often, thought of cable break. gs rattle sounds of I assume at Hydros about 5 KM before the finish. I then drove to the finish, about 5 KM still. When turning off then the oil lamp almost always lit. I left the car standing overnight, had the hope that the oil was only too hot and thin to build up proper oil pressure. The next morning after starting the oil lamp does not disappear still there (Hydros)? To add to the engine was not unusually warm. The ADAC man I had then fetched said Perhaps oil pump.
