Hello, I’m quite new here on the Essi board. Was before on the Astra board. Drive now since mid-April an Escort Mk 7 Gal 1.4l tournament year 96 with 75hp. At first everything was ok only then it started. How should it be different with an Essi? It goes out in the warm condition. Since I am no one who writes immediately, I have read all the topics about this matter for a good week. I have done since the following:Let error codes read——No error codeLLRV cleaned only then exchanged—— error remainsL MM changed—– error remainsZündkerzen changed—– error remainsZündkabel changed—— error remainsAir filter changed—– error remainsControl unit changed——- engine did not run because of a roadblock, so old again inside. 🙁 So I continued to search and discovered the following. A loose plug(red circle) Purple/Black cable and is attached to the wire harness that goes to the ignition coil and an oxidized plug(yellow circle). Where does the one plug belong and for what is the part with the oxidized plug? Then I noticed that when I got the car it was almost empty. I then filled it and shortly afterwards it started then was 3 days rest(tank almost empty) and Sunday evening I filled up again and since Monday it is again. Thank you already Michael

Ford Escort MK7 New Front Speaker
Hello all together I would like to buy my old Ford Escort MK7 BJ. 1995 a pair of front speakers. Since the series speakers are too small I would like to install 16.5 speakers. I have read that this works with adapter ringsAdapter rings Now I would like to know, does this really work with these adapter rings? If I look at the cut-outs of the original places so never fit in in in the life 16.5 speakers. Many have written that they have it but in it ha I hope that the speakers fit in with a depth of 65 mm. I will also install a subwoofer in the trunk. I hope you can help me with this topic Greetings Black-Disk

No more rear fog lamp
Do I have a problem with which I can no longer continue? My vehicle is an Escort tournament year 8/99 Turbodiesel with 90 HP. In a check I have found that my fog lamp no longer works. The fog does not have a fuse, but only a relay. If I now press the switch for the fog, only an orange lamp lights up. But if a green light needs to be lighted? There is no juice in the back. Birn is also fine. My on-board clock is also spinning at the moment. If I set it to 6 o’clock and check it after 30 minutes, it does not indicate 6.30 o’clock but almost 8 o’clock. I can only imagine that the ECU is defective. I had almost the same problems with my old Escort. After 7 years the ECU had retired and after the installation of a new ECU some power providers had re-entered. Is it a problem with Ford that these problems usually occur after 6-7 years? Swedenoma

Final stage broken? 🙁
Day boys have a question … And that’s when I went to work yesterday, I noticed on the way that my boxes went on and off in the back. Without touching anything the sound has spun. Subwoofers and the boxes at the back no longer went. First only so on, off, off and now no more at all. But the funny thing is that when I start the ignition, with which also the final stage starts, one hears such a dump katter. If one turns on the ignition, then there is a “duff” from the B Oxen and from the sub and so and so and now it’s just snorting, duk, duk, duk .. and of course no sound. I already checked the fuses, it’s nothing. Everything went smoothly .. until yesterday Can it be because it was so hot yesterday? Because my car was standing just nice inside the sun and sowat and the power stage is in the trunk and my car color is dark blue. But what can then have happened? I checked all the visible cables and took off the individual boxes and the sub but not the sub Results. Please help me

Escort CarHIFI
I’ve come to work with the sone idea, just read it through at the moment in my escort -4x40W Ford Original Boxes 2 front 2 in the trunk -2x40W (approx.8cm diameter) fastened to the rear column in the trunk (1defect) -all 6boxes normally connected to the radio – box (brand own construction of a carpenter) in the trunk with -power stage 1000W (unfortunately only up to 30dB) -subwoofer 1000W -350W tweeter (18cm diameter) -2 LED tubes (as well as 2 front in the footroom, each with train the box can be built up by means of a cable-fast coupler with an inner stop of 20sec. without screws, etc. So now the idea of the tournament-sauraum came to my advantage : Undzwar -The box is sold with everything in it (vll at Ebay, price approx.160EUR) – all wide 6 boxes come out – front and back to the columns come new tweeters in it which are normally connected to the radio – in the trunk itself come 2 small subwoofers, where before he the Ford speakers were (coupled to power stage) – If possible, in the rear doors a tweeter (coupled to power stage) – New small (dimensions) power stage with extremely low bass driver (19dB) Question now:Where to with the power stage? under the passenger seat Are there so small subwoofers at all? Rich 2 small subs with power stage for good depths “Bum”? so that was my thought… total nonsense? or idea supportive? What do you mean? opinions, tips and suggestions for improvement…. like to read! near my present box

The beloved rust – 2 special questions
Well, even my Essi didn’t just spare the rust. Rost at the top of the rear wheel and the threshold edges, so where you put the jack on, they bloom in full length. Looks like a cut-up croissant. Here I ask myself 2 gnerelle main questions:Which rust brake use? I read very often, even with oldtimer restorers, that they use “Fertan”. Can one put this from the inside on the fender on the wheel run, because to my knowledge from there the rust What do you advise me to do with the sills? Change completely on both sides? Or can you do something permanently for a long time? (Do they actually bloom up because water has penetrated from below or from above? What is the typical cause of the sills?)

Start problems
Hi people, I’d like to have a problem… my darling (1.4, 75hp, MK7) has been making mistakes lately, which I don’t really understand… sometimes he starts, sometimes he doesn’t… I don’t want to start the ignition and it doesn’t matter, not even the starter spins… (starter new, battery ok) it only lights up the lamps in the display, but nothing happens… then next time (an hour later or so) he starts up against no problems… usually this occurs, feels when he over night stand… my suspicion: it does not always come to the current from the ignition lock to the outlet… now I wanted to know if the problem here has already been experienced by someone and if so, how the solution of the problem is, since the workshop can not help me… is it a cable break, or the ignition lock or even the immobilizer, or a security or a relay?! please help me… MfG

Timing belt change on 1.6L/16V 90Ps Escort
Hello together, even if it was a topic here several times…… I still need some support or courage for the timing belt change planned by me on my wife her favorite piece, the 94èr 1,6l 16V Escort GAL. After some reading here, I think that I can and want to perform this reperture myself. I ordered a repair book for the Fzg., only if the steering wheels slip away, but also so I think, it is better if you can look in there. My questions are: – does the water pump have to be changed with absolutely? – do you need any special tool (i.e. especially “curved” keys or nuts) or the like? (I am a craftsman; i.e. larger range of tools and also large nut boxes up to size 36 I have) – have heard that the engine has to be raised on one side…. is that so? – is there anything else important to consider spare parts I have selected from ebay…. so we want to drive with the vehicle for a few more years……it’s actually top iO from the sheet metal) – e.g. : Timing belt kit from “DAYCO”;;; belt 131 teeth/ 25,4mm wide/ 1pcs tensioning roller/ 2pcs pulleys is the right one………. the offer is about 50.-€ …….there are also others around 80.-€ and then more than 100.-€. With a friend of mine, who is at Wessels & Müller field serviceman, I would be incl. wedge rib belt, which I would like to wear with Allegedly everything is always first and manufacturer’s equipment. Can you give me tips on what you buy there. possibly also call me another manufacturer. in advance thank you for your answers Greeting karli

Motor does not start cold – Part 2
Hello dear motor talk community, so I had already created a thread, what it was about that I believed in a secret consumer and so my car did not start after longer standing (about 8 – 10 hours) in the cold. During all the start attempts (one already needs several and longer runs) the battery was fully drained and at some point it also had no power to get the car into gear. I think it is not the battery that causes these problems, it is If I leave the car overnight (and it’s still cold) and try to start it tomorrow, I have to give it 5-6 times ignition and hope that the battery will still make it and not be sucked out. However, if the engine starts once, then it will start even after 4 hours without any problems. Just there was something funny. It just shines the sun, so it’s not sooo cold outside and it jumped with 3-4 seconds delay. g, but he jumped right on the first attempt. So I believe in a cold start problem now. Can someone help me further?? Another funny thing is, when the engine is on and I operate the window lifters, then the engine makes another a brighter noise. Even if I pull the fuse for the window lifters, the rear still work funnyly. You see I’m in despair. Whether there is a connection, I don’t know. Thanks already, but once for your help…

I’m very satisfied with it but I’m not allowed to drive yet because I’m still driving the driver’s license but won’t last much longer Have a question about my power amp and nem subwoofer. So it looks like I have two boxes on my final stage ( McFun B-Force 800 4 channel ) now. M a radio is one of Medion, that I gave from the car of my parents, ham se me ^^ resp. we exchanged since I had previously an older one in it but also with MP3. Anyway, this from Medion has only 1 pair of chinch outputs. When I installed the power amplifier with my colleague today and the cables have laid clean he later noticed that I could get problems with the subwoofer. I have to buy now definitely a new radio with 2×2 chinch outputs o I can solve this differently ? Would be very grateful for your help Wouldn’t want to buy a new radio right now but first ask the experts here
