Hello, I am in the Harz and have a real problem with my winter tires. We have about 30cm snow here, the temperatures are below zero. The parking lot on which I stand is behind the house and there you can only get over a single driveway. This is to all evil estimated 12% steep and approximately 10m long. Now come on: I can not get this crazy driveway up again. I get it shortly before the end, then it’s not possible anymore and I have to drive carefully down again (rut No way out here. But the winter tyres still have a reasonably good profile (over 5mm) and still they are constantly going crazy. I have a 2.0T and try to give it as carefully as possible. Only with snow chains I can overcome the exit, but I still have this problem that I have a sports suspension. So the car is very deep and it is damn little space when the chains are on the wheels… If the V40 is generally easy too heavy, it has too much to v iel PS or am I just too stupid? Help! I can stand criticism 🙂 BoisBleu ps: the forum (server) is so damn slow and spins (why is my post 5x here, where 4 posts are empty) 🙂

Luminous range control
Hello, someone can tell me where the actuators for the headlight adjustment are to be found at the V40 (Bj. 12/98). Supposedly (according to Volvo workshop) both should be defective at my car; when I wanted to find out about repair in a free workshop today, the mechanic looked up and found that there is no actuator or similar installed on the headlight. For comparison he also showed me the changed headlights of a 440, which he repaired the week before. Only the two mechanical adjustment options per headlight were available with my V40. Could this be due to the level control or is it possible that the adjustment option is accommodated elsewhere? Or should the Volvo workshop possibly have put me on my arm? Thanks for information, greetings, geo

Gentle engine jerking
Hello, before I come to you with a request, I would like to say briefly that I am based here in the Golf Forum. My questions refer to my wife’s car. This is a C 30, 125 hp, year 2007, MKB AFU, mileage approx. 65000 KM. And now the problem. The C 30 is hardly noticeable in the 4th or 5th gear, with the slight gas giving on flat track. I once Googled through and the few what I found, allegedly pointed to a dirty throttle flap or poti, as well as to defective/s ignition coils. My questions to you, are these hints realistic and if, what can be done about it? In addition, it would be important to know which mileage performance the ignition coils should be changed/must be. Unfortunately, the inspection checkbook was no longer available when buying the car (worship car). The Volvo representative here always promised to provide a replacement, but what has not happened until today. I would be grateful for every meaningful answer!!!

Alternator/Battery ?
Hi people, the following problem. Wanted to re-park my V50 2.4 l / 140 HP Automat Bj 06/04 today and then turned on stand light. Before I turned off the engine, the red exclamation mark lights up and the control lamp of the battery – BC meant “electric system – maintenance urgent”. Engine off, after a while again – error occurred after a short time again. What can it be – alternator or battery? Vehicle currently has about 135 TKM on the hump. Has stood the last 3 days in the carport – ran flawlessly so far … had the feeling that he was at the MO (moved it there the last time) in cold condition uphill on a bit later (as usual) gas – but could have tauted me also (step speed, automatic, kickdown etc) … because then he ran well 100km without intermediate flaw … Someone an idea? What costs could be connected to the lighting machine? Thanks in advance. Best Gruesse, //**-peter

Have just delivered 1 C70 Coupe, Unfortunately
Hello dear Volvo community, I recently bought a Volvo C 70 T5 in black, but I’m about to sell it again. He just sold it at Ebay ( still 7 days ) but it’s too bad I don’t want this beautiful and rare coupe just coming to a rascal or heater, which drives the thing only to the Schroth. I used 200km to fall in love with the car. Drive otherwise also automatic and big and fast, but the Volvo is something special in my eyes. to the car it’s a 2.3 T5 model in black with carbon and 4 gear automatic with 162000 km Bj 98 I think very rarely. I would like to ask you whether there might be one or other lover among you for this vehicle. I do not want to sell to children who just broke themselves and make car. It’s a good car and I just need to read it in good hands. in the Ebay display my number would also be about calling and serious Interresses.

19″ on the C30 – what to consider?
Moinsen! My Atreus go on the cookie. They should go away. I would like to want to get 19″ equal high (225 or 235 slats should then be on it) and have a question: I have already read that with BBS rims the inner wheel house has to go out… I have no desire for that. Steering limiters have I already in front in it… What else to consider? Which ET is to be recommended? Have seen a set of rims with ET40. Since 8.5J and thus clearly wider than the 7.5J of the Asreus. 8.5J = approx. 22.5 cm width compared to approx. 19.0 cm width… If I have now correctly calculated (precautionarily) then this should cut out even without track plates…: Accessory rim: rim: 22.5 width (8.5J) ET: 40 distance between hub and inner rim: 10.85 cm Atreus Alufelge: rim: 19.0 cm width (7.5J) ET: 52.5 distance between hub and inner rim: 897 cm. Is not a problem?

Chassis C70-I
Hello everyone, the pressure of suffering is now high enough, so I finally deal with the replacement of my chassis. This series flapper is to be exchanged. The question is only for what. Lowering and coiling suspension…hmm, I think from the age I am out. At least now should be with the spring flapping end, and the spring tensioner also have meaning and purpose again. At present I can rotate the spring (front axle ) loosely in the installed condition. My workshop had before a long time only cut a garden hose on and packed around the bottom spring position. But this should also be only an intermediate solution. So guys and Deerns, what you can recommend is so cost-effective in the frame ( I know, stretchable term ), conveys a good road contact, poltert not on track heels (in particular the train stage ) and steering in curves. Auto is a 2004 2.0t with almost 60tkm. Thank you very much for your advice! VG, Wienus

EXPERIENCE V8 report
In addition to the good weather and the bad weather, the good weather for the car spring shows. Also my Volvo dealer has a party over the weekend. Sure I wanted to see the V8 in peace and listen. Test drive? No, unfortunately not possible. But then, the big boss greets me friendly and after a chat I hold the key for the V8 in hands! G***! The car sounds good outside but not effectually. I roll quite cautiously with the XC90 from the yard, only a quiet purr can be heard. At the exit to the main road then the first experience – the gas pedal only gently stroked and the giant wheel is lined up. No memorial minute like my D5. Innerorts with 50 to 60 km/h the giant glides wonderfully silently. Then on the highway feeder – let’s see what the box has on it. Kickdown, the automatic switches back immediately. At the first moment nothing happens, but then the V8 starts and gets excitedly into the stuff. In the hand turn the whole sound clearly.

DEFA Warm up
Has any of you already had experience with the systems or even used them yourself. In scandalavia they swear on these things think to me for this winter. Among other things also because I might drive to Lapland. Heating is of course better but for that I would have to be 4-digit. But should be mainly for here at home. A few reviews or your opinions would be helpful because I can’t find any of the things to tell me about it. Thank youDEFA WarmUP
