  • BMW 316d Touring vs. V50 D2 DRIVEe

Hello, I’m about to make a purchase decision: a BMW 316d Touring (115 hp) with no additional extras from 2011 as well as a V50 DRIVe Business Edition with Xenon from 2012. Both have run about 20,000 km and so are around 19,000 euros. I drove both cars test. The driving performance is roughly comparable and sufficient for me. The suspension of the BMW is very good and relatively tight. The V50 is more comfortable designed. The V50 offers a little more space in the trunk and is more family-friendly equipped (integrated children’s seats, racks). In terms of consumption, both should be about the same. Taxes and insurance are slightly cheaper with the V50. I drive about 15,000 km per year and intend to drive the car 8 – 10 years. What do you think, also with regard to expected follow-up costs, normal wear?

  • Battery off/clamped then SRS Airbag warning message and red light

Hello, once again a new problem: I have the battery jammed with the backend during the charging procedure to protect all the control units from overvoltage. now after attaching the battery the error message “SRS Airbag maintenance condition” and the red airbag light. am friendly, which cannot delete the error, says, will probably be a mistake in the airbag control unit which must be exchanged if a previous software upload does not manage any help. cost 600-700 €. airbags are currently except operation according to workshop master. in juni I have tuev and that will probably not find that funny when there are all the lamps lights. so now the question what I can do for myself….can I pull off the plug connections of the control unit without continuing and plug up again? I would like to have to check the plug connections of the last one before I can exchange a control unit which may not fix the noise of the workshop. but as soon as the control unit can not be broken on the propriety is also the propriety device.

  • To the gas drivers…

Hello everyone! my 94-er 850 2.5 20V switch should now get a gas system at the nice pump prices… Well looking for Volvo gas retrofitter at Berlin and also found on the outskirts. Arrived, the yard full of 850 (about 10pcs.) looks very good. It should come in a BRC full-sequential plant, 70l tank and Flashlube (from which recommended). The whole should last 2-3 days. A week later (TΓΌv man was on vacation apparently) the sobering statement: “We have already hundreds of Volvos but had not had one like yours yet). Unfortunately the BRC system is not compatible with the control unit. The plant would have done without any problems in a 10V but in my apparently not”. Symptoms were a bad idle run, the rest was apparently ok. The only way out of the mess allegedly the construction of a Venturi plant…Now also the question: Does one of you has such a Volvo like my (2.5 20V 170ps BJ 94 switch) with a full-sequential plant?

  • Emission: Maintenance required. find error S80 Built 2000/2.4 170PS petrol

Hello together, after coming again from the friendly just I’m desperate. I just bought the car with real 22,000km on the Tacho. It was a second car, and garage vehicle. Top condition. Before the purchase I let the car from the DEKRA cheken, astreine exhaust values, no error message in the display. Then proudly drove with “new” old S80 300km home, immediately into the washing garage and then came the error message Emission: Maintenance required. I would say that the car pulls normal, no engine rucksacks, no nix. Did the error message now delete various times, but after almost 20km the error message comes back again, if I miss the engine and then start the ignition and then the display remains permanent. The LMM has already been exchanged, errors nevertheless came again. What can that still be? Drosselklappe? or Lamdasonden? I would be very connected to you if you still have the one or other tip, as I can quickly analyze the error (best with instruction) to invest the new parts without being defective.

  • Vibration damper motor strut D5 ???

Today I have a question and I have stumbled in the bay over the following particles for the D5: Vibration damper for the upper crossbar engine compartment suitable for Volvo DIESEL D5244T engine type : S60 Diesel 2001 -> 2009 S80 Diesel 2001 -> 2006 V70 Diesel 2001 -> 2007 XC90 Diesel 2003 -> 2012 XC70 Diesel 2001-> 2007OE 30645245 / 30741762 http://www.ebay.de/…/261532803261?… Our D5 of 2002 with 163hp doesn’t have this thing at all. So, as I interpret this, the part is screwed with the bolt, which also goes through the eye of the engine bearing. Am I completely on the wood way, or was it possible to retrofit it, or is the text of the auction just stupid?

  • Crossbars, carrying joint ???

Good day together, I’m new here and I have a question right away, my free workshop unfortunately gave me the bad news today after the exchange of the wheel bearing, that also carrying joints (both) and a coupling rod have to be replaced. The master looked nice in his pc, said something of, Oh the Volvo again, and with my model were crossbars and carrying joint a part. And that costs with him 130 €, so everything together including taxes and installation around 450 € I find this a lot of money and have there still several screwdrivers at hand, but now I look at Googl for carrying joints and am a bit confused about the many. Is this now really only a part? Crossbar and carrying joint in one? Are the 450 € justified? is that also cheaper? Can I order this myself on the net and then install it with a friend? And if what supplier? I would be really grateful for clever answers, because I am just a bit angry at the sweet elk, after all, have no money-sister πŸ˜‰

  • Cracked, does anyone have one?

Actually it only looked like a replacement-needed engine-side exhaust manifold seal, but after the removal of the Krummers the (free) workshop told me earlier that the Krummer itself is torn. Unfortunately it is the casting variant, i.e. the flex piece is on the cat, not on the Krummer. Does someone have such a thing to hand over? The new price is almost 400 €, quite happy. The like always helpful colleague from the Hainbachtal has already looked (thanks, Uwe), unfortunately in vain. Unfortunately, there are no third-party products to that part. What does this look like – would the conversion to the other variant, i.e. steel tube manifolds and other Kat, be useful/possible? Are the bolts on the engine the same with both variants? Steel tube manifolds and Kat are together cheaper at e**y than a single casting manifold.

  • Electrolyser???

Hello people, have found one among the e-mails today, where one of them claims smoothly: “…with the easy-to-use electrolyser, they save up to 55% (!) fuel. No matter in which vehicle they install it!” I only flew over it, but basically it’s about using a tank and the direct current from the battery/lima hydrogen or so-called brown gas and spit into the intake tract. I can remember dark on attempts from the chemistry class (Yes, that was already in the 60s!) where we split off banging gas with a Hoffmannirgendwas made of water. Was it always nice to show due to the bang effect. If I had been better aware, I would not have needed to ask this question today for discussion: Can this work? If yes, how? Has anyone tried it before? Am curious about your answers, the Bieber

  • Soft beige on sky and column covering

Hello together, almost with the family growth in the form of an XC60 Ocean Race for my wife. Priced there was an attractive offer, which actually made the car too heavy in the eyes of my wife come into the short choice (actually she has cast an eye on the Q3, but the Volvo tells me more about it). So even more quickly organized a test drive. So it gets in and mokes itself immediately about how one can deface only an anthracite interior with roof sky and column coverings in beige. So it was immediately clear that this has to be ordered differently. Since I had already been busy with the price lists I knew that there was no other color. At first she did not want to believe that, but was convinced by the very busy seller that it really is not possible. Now I am not really the specialist in terms of matching colors together. However, even this color combination at the first entry was immediately unpleasant to me – and had considerable doubts about taking the car to the show with home. Now I would not be interested in saying that there was a lot of color for the columns anyway.
