  • Severe storm: rain sensor and DSTC

Hello together, once again the popular topic rain sensor: I have become accustomed to the way it works, but what the RS did yesterday was the crowning. I have the adjustment ring on the steering wheel lever normally in the lowest position. I get well used to that. But yesterday then that means: Flood-like rain, car in front of me, the spray swirls up, windshield wipers run at the fastest speed (as determined by the RS), then it happens. The wipers change from highest speed abruptly into interval mode!!! At about 80km/h this means an estimated 20m blind flight!! There I was baff. Luckily then I am not the one who goes into panic on the brake. Whether there is a GE jump on it? at the visibility and water conditions had changed to my forgiving nox… Have the RS then set a level more sensitive then later (m.M. after too early) I would like to drive into the next higher speed, but always better than not to see anything. I’m very receptive to the topic of DSTC, but have only reacted to a lot of praise on a piece of music.

  • AU did not exist: charging pressure limitation valve except target range

My V 70 D5 Premium didn’t pass the AU for the first time today with 176tsd. Something with the turbocharger, my unfriendly opinion. Error message is PO 244 charging pressure limitation magnetic valve out of order. The turbo is gone, the valve, if that were it, would come 800 teuros, the complete Turbo 1000 without installation. I don’t trust the roasting, the car runs like cut, 1200 km with a tank in mixed operation, from time to time, once a month comes the message: engine maintenance required after locking at 2500 touring. Shut down and start again was the solution until now. As a woman I don’t trust a mechanic, they always hold you for stupid and clapping in the most expensive rep. Does anyone here know the message and has an idea for the solution? Thank you and nice greetings!

  • S60 2.4T Fan Problem – HOT

Hello – my S60 2.4T 8/2001 has a problem: During the ride it keeps perfectly 90°C cooling average emlerature. I noticed by chance in the Torque that it goes clearly up at the stand (have stopped at 104°C). After that I caught my little Volvo tester. Both fan levels are off without air conditioning. I activate the climate, goes fan level 1 to ON. Temp rises however as said over 90… When should fan 2 trigger and what activates it? Recently I kicked it half way, then the fans ran after full pot – so as the fans still went without problems. Thernostat is also new since I have never reached more than 78°C in winter… Thanks for your help!!!

  • New wheel screws for winter wheels (steel rims)

Hello! I have had my steel rims for the winter bikes of my Volvo V70I (2.4 Diesel) shine this year and have them re-coiled. Now they look new again and not so gammelig anymore But now I still have the old wheel screws, which are still completely rusty and gammelig. Question: If I want to replace them now, against something more chic new screws, what should I pay attention to? Should I just turn out a screw, measure the thread and its length and go to the search where there is such a thing, or can someone tell me an online dealer, where I can order the screws. Furthermore, with the two front wheels also lack this round cap in the middle of the wheel. Where can I get something like that? Thanks and VG godewind

  • Delivery time XC60

Hello together, this is my first post here in the forum. I would like to thank you for the countless, great reports here in the forum, which confirmed me in my decision to say goodbye to my Audi. So my XC60, ordered in the KW1 2011(Drive, color white, R-Design, Business-Packet Pro, Comfort-Packet, Winter-Packet Pro, parking aid front and rear, AHK removable, side window from B-pillar darkened, daytime running light, winter tire Cratus 235/60 R18, summer tire Talitha 8×20 diamond cut/dark gray, Heico Chiptuning) should be handed over according to my week (KW13) according to this week. At first KW18 was called as delivery date, was then corrected later on KW13. Said. Last Friday double card, proxy and personal card did not happen to hand over to the car and now it should be done on Friday. Today I get a call that delays the delivery by 2 weeks? I am now doing so? normal? Did I ask you a question? Did I have a good idea?

  • Huge problem with the chassis and the Tüv

Moin and Hello all together, maybe someone can give me here a tip on my “loved” V40 BJ 2013 D2. I bought the car a year ago with a gapless history… but probably not like that… Unfortunately a private purchase. I had an inspection done last week and both track rod heads should be renewed. Then the car should be over the tuv. Then the shock: Grober lack suspension / spring not proven all the admissibility (EM). The next shock, I look under the car, 2 track rod heads calculated, one replaced, interior / pollen filter calculated and looks like it was the first. But well, the chassis should be the subject here. The tuv examiner has scratched on the springs and underneath was blue color. Springs are black but nothing can be read on it. The vehicle has a height to the upper edge of the antenna 1420mm as indicated by the factory on just underground. But the vehicle also looks visually not really lower now. The only thing that I drive with 18 inch rims. The biggest thing I’m sorry about is the original is to say it’s still a lot of the original fit.

  • Thank you and question

Hello, have been following the forum for some time now and still have to be active. First of all the obligatory 😉 Presentation : Heisse Manfred, have problems to find suitable cars and thus “hanged” at Volvo (tja – the height makes possible). Meanwhile convinced of the brand and therefore now changed from my V70/1 to S80. So much for it… First of all thanks for the constructive contributions and suggestions – helped me with my “old” often. But have still a KLEINE question (please don’t stone – I know the topic was more often in the forum and I also read almost everything) – topic standing heating – what can I program (after I was in Holland…) how? My pure functionality. Would be grateful for a short description…!!! Greets

  • 5% RME first “test report”

Hello in the company at the moment Diesel is sulphur-free tested with 5% RME (rapes) (PKW and truck).http://www.migrol.ch/default.asp?navig=722 I also have (after consultation with Volvo) fuelled this fuel (there were still about 5 liters of diesel in the tank). First (subjective) experience (after 100 km), which however coincides with that of other colleagues: – the nail has become significantly smaller – with warm engine softer combustion – much more ignite (cautiously you have the ignition key, already the engine is running) What I can not judge is the fuel consumption. However, according to our frequent drivers, a reduction of between 5 and 10% is to be expected. Unlike France, which knows the 5% for years, our diesel is sulphur-free. I will keep you informed. Gruss Elmar

  • When does Volvo “curve light” arrive?

Now it’s getting dark again and some people know the dull feeling when the light cone shows straight ahead in a dark turn… luckily there is “curve light”. At Volvo “thinkest!” although Volvo sees itself as a pioneer in safety equipment. Therefore, I am surprised that no announcement mentions “curve light”. The competition introduces it train by train – sometimes at an extra cost – and Volvo lags behind (here are just a few examples: Astra, Vectra, Signum, the new 3 Series, Lexus, E-Class T-Model, X5, the new Ford Focus even curved with halogen and Xenon !). How do you think about it ? ros

  • Driving mode T8 in snow and snow

Hello Foristi, I drive an XC90 II T8 and have a question about the driving modes. In the Rhine-Main area it has snowed a few times now and I am unsure which driving mode is the right one in these weather conditions. In AWD mode it seems to never drive electric, but only with burner – but probably constant with four wheel. In hybrid and pure mode it can also be electric and probably only switches on the four wheel if necessary. How do you do that? Greetings Tom
