  • Exchange of side panes advisable?

    I had ordered my XC70 with tinted laminated glass panes from B-pillar. I got the laminated glass panes but they are not tinted. Now the dealer offered me to exchange my side panes back and install tinted ones. I find this quite interesting, but wonder if in the end I don’t have more after-effects than advantages? Do any glued insulating sheets have to be removed? Can such an exchange be done “without a trace”? What do you think/know about it?

    Have a D3 GT FWD (see signature) and travel daily in the mountains and valleys of the Taunus. In order to reduce the brake wear and because it is so easy, I set the selector lever to “manual” at the beginning of the descent and switch down. In order to reduce the speed of the descent I also like to choose a very small gear. So I hardly have to operate the brake. The speed is often very high and the engine noise, let’s say potently. It is built in a limit, so that I can only choose a small gear as the vehicle “wears”. However, since I practice this every day, I am still thinking (the engine jauling doesn’t make any more relaxed) if I can not do anything damage and in the future stand better on the brake. By the way: AWD only has a mountain descent assistance (to get these answers first).

Ggü. the German model ‘only’ a difference of 5,000€ (approx. 8.5%). Of course, both prices are untraded. Now my question: I’s the ‘normal’, the price is low and the price is always fixed.

  • Gear cable complete or sockets for gear cable VOLVO V70 I, year 1999, manual transmission

    Have found some posts about search function, which are already a few years old. Since the rubber bushings of my gear cable play, have cracks and switching is no longer a real pleasure, I was in the net looking for a complete gear cable for my VOLVO V70 I, year 1999, 106 KW, manual gear M56. (gear oil original plus LM supplement have already been changed). Unfortunately without success, is probably nowhere offered. (SKANDIX, ALBERT, ….) If yet ….. who, where????? Other alternative, as some have already done to replace the bushings. Rotated PU bushings or brass bushings unfortunately have no turner at hand. Had also read about exchange for ball bearings, I found not bad and inexpensive, but was for another model. The used gear ropes from the bay all look worse than mine. Has someone a solution, drawing with measures to rotate or a reference source for suitable bushings for me. I am grateful for everything.

    Hy. Does anyone have a schematic of a V70 2,4T Bj.99 Mod.00 ? I would have to know the endpoints of the wires that go away from the LMM to be able to measure the wires ! Problem, bad exhaust gas values (all parts new) and if you pull off the plug, he has the best values (better than a new car). I also get the error code again and again, which reports this to itself. Only if you look at the wire harness, how it disappears in the cable channel, is wrapped with other strands ect. I do not start this for the time being to tear up…. better check the passage ect.   • Do these original rims fit my XC90 moose?

    Hello, Servus to everyone, I wanted to ask in the round if these rims (see picture) fit on the Volvo XC90 2005. The seller writes: For Volvo XC90 2012-2016 255/45 R20 I’m a bit confused because the models have a different hub diameter from the “newer” ones from 2015. So can’t explain why the rims fit for both models (until 2014 and from 2015). Maybe someone has a photo of his moose with these rims. Thank you and LG

  • XC90 Used or new purchase/leasing ?

    Hello dear XC90 fan community, have been reading here for a long time, especially on the subject of XC90? Stand now at so slow before the decision in direction XC90. Since I have to pay the car from the private box, I swung between used purchase and repurchase or leasing. In case of leasing including special payment by selling today’s vehicle the monthly rate (at 10,000 deposit and 15,000 km/p.a.) would move at approx. 300 EUR/month. Thus, for 3 or 4 years would first be quiet and a super car available. What is absolutely surprising is the fact that used XC90 D5 (at best 7-seater) will be very expensively traded. At Mobile.de no XC90 with reasonable KM performance (would not buy a vehicle with more than 60,000 km) would be offered for under 32,000 EUR? Therefore, my motivation for buying a used (before facelift, if necessary only with 163 PS) is not particularly pronounced. At New Purchase I would receive a discount of 15 % as expensive as your observations.
