  • Touring suspension XC 60

Hello Currently I drive an XC 60 R design and am very satisfied with the vehicle except for the hard chassis. Now there is a new order ( XC 60 summum ) and I would like to order the Touring or the Four C chassis. I have already been able to test the Four C extensively, and actually only drove in Comfort mode, which was very comfortable suspension. So the touring suspension would be absolutely sufficient for me. Unfortunately, I have no possibility to test the touring suspension here in the vicinity. Can someone please tell me his experience with the touring suspension here in the forum? Is it the Four C in Comfort mode and should you order the speed-dependent servo steering because of the softer suspension? For your answers I would like to thank you in advance.

  • I’m very surprised at my winter bikes.

I got a letter from the workshop in Hamburg Norderstedt. I just didn’t get the letter, but the content was the following: Your winter tyres are worn out. The profile depth is no longer ok. Here is an offer for new tyres. You can certainly think of the prices. Important information: I bought the complete wheels in May last year cheaply in another branch of the chain. Mhhh. My call……how is the profile depth? I waited….on the phone …….then came the statement….. not………then they called me today. Their winter tyres are porous! And from the end of 2016! Ahja. Porös….not even 4 years old. OK…..remarkable Can they please send me pictures? With the pictures. What do we see here? Damage in the profile at one point each on all 4 tires. Well, what do you think about it?

  • Permissible winter tyres XC90 T8 Twin Engine

Hello dear forists, I’m going to get an XC90 T8 with summer tire 21 inch 10 spokes turbine design in the next few weeks. Can anyone tell me what winter tire size is probably allowed here? It’s about the smallest possible size. Is this 19 inch or 20 inch? Background is that the fleet itself orders winter tires, usually the Cheapest ones. To be able to talk here, I would try to pick a cheap rim in advance. With my last car there were ugly 15 inch (with 17 inch summer tires), that I would like to avoid in this vehicle segment in any case. But probably there are no really ugly rims at 19 inch anymore… Thanks for your help. Niels

  • Active High Beam, how to recognize it?

Hello, I’ve been interested in an S90 for a long time. And I really want to have the Active High Beam headlights with me. But what do I know if it’s onboard or not? I know that it’s in the front of the headlights, but a lot of photos are shot on mobile from a distance and therefore you can’t recognize anything. My budget is at a maximum of 30t Euro, do I get a good Volvo? What features should the car definitely have? And is the distance tempomat or Pilot Assist II already from the factory? With my budget, the equipment Momentum is a question, is this the lowest line? So, a naked Volvo without frills and assistant systems? What equipment does the Volvo S90 from 2016-2018 have as standard? Would anyone have a list?

  • V90 CC Roll-off noise 19 inch winter tyres

Hello, I have on my V90 CC the Michelin Pilot Alpin 19 inch winter tires. The car is brand new. However, from about speed 60-90 up to high speeds a clear (!) rolling noise is to be heard. It is much louder than in my previous XC60 with 18 inch tires or the Passat Alltrack before. In short: is it really because of the tires, which actually have similar noise values according to test like many others? Are it the big wheel boxes? Is the difference from 18 to 19 inch so great? Do you (V90 CC) have similar experiences? It sounds like armored tires and resonances with a surren that gets brighter at higher speeds. Thank you! Many greetings, berg4m

  • Wash the engine at the V40!

Hello friends! My V 40: BJ 2003, MJ 2004, Motor B4184S2, 1.8 petrol, 90 kw, 122 hp, gearbox AW/50-42. I have to wash the engine of my V 40 in the next few weeks, without high-pressure radiators. I am aware of the fact that no water is allowed in the safety box, otherwise the VOLVO will no longer start. Environmental laws prohibiting me from washing the car on roads or parking place, do not exist here in Slovakia. I want to spray the engine with an engine cleaner, the cold engine, with a brush (to wash the dishes) clean the engine and pour warm water over the engine with a watering can. Large parts will then dry with a flap and the rest will drive on the highway. Then many shrinks will use to protect bare cables and plug contacts with contact spray a spray. Finally I want to spray the clean cold engine with engine paint spray. How do you all stand for engine cleaning?

  • Headlamps, bumpers

Hello, I wanted to replace the inlays in my headlight. I’ve heard many times that you don’t have to remove the bumper for this. I can’t get the SW out without removing the bumper. Also a push down the bumper didn’t work. How can you get rid of the bumper to some extent? Don’t get smart from the instructions on the internet. There’s always something of two screws…Don’t snap at me either. Besides, I’m usually so lucky for such things that it cracks once and broke something, or I don’t get it anymore after that, because it’s hooked somewhere… Can you help me (and others) by explaining exactly the (partially) disassembly of the bumper? Many thanks in advance Fabian

  • Spark plugs, oil and engine fluctuations

Dear forum friends. The engine of our V40 Bj.2000 rotates unscathedly high with the engine temperature indicator falling at the same time. I had described this problem before, but it could not be clarified by 2 sites. Today I wanted to replace the sensor and the thermostat and saw this: see photo. Now my question, before I exchange the two parts, which according to reading should not be broken: If oil does this damage and runs into the spark plugs, can this cause our problems? And what consequential damage can result from it. I am grateful for every tip, let your expert
