  • Navi DVD reader defective or dirty?

Hello, I bought a Volvo Navi DVD 2006 for my V70 Bj 2002 from Ebay (before I read that there might be problems with old devices and new DVD’s). Prompt my reader didn’t recognize the “new” DVD. But unfortunately the device can’t read the old DVD anymore. The friendly one had to run through a cleaning DVD, but unfortunately it didn’t work. On repeated attempts it went again briefly, but since about 300 attempts nothing is possible anymore. According to the previous reports the old DVD from 2002 would still have to work, and therefore I would like to open and clean the reader. Does anyone have an idea like this, or maybe a plan B or C that at least makes the old DVD readable again? Thank you for your suggestions. Greeting Sven PS: The friendly one offered me the exchange of the device with Kulanzschlag for about 300 EUR. Together with the price for the 2006 DVD this is a whole lot.

  • Dirt indoors on the rear doors (wheelbox cutout) or also in the rear interior

Hello Together, I have already noticed repeatedly that when driving in bad weather or over dirty roads in the interior at the rear doors (wheelbox cutout) a real “crust” is formed relatively quickly. Had I before in the form with no other car. Does – if one does not open the rear doors – not at first. Also I have the impression that in the rear interior area, especially where the wheelbox cutout is, in the ground area at the rear seat very quickly always form a kind of dust layer. Why ever. The basic tightness of the interior I would actually assume. As I said, it is a kind of fine dust. No moisture. Especially when one opens the rear doors and looks at the ground (where the seat runs into the area of the wheelbox cutout. There it collects) It also seems that when model collation has at least made similar experiences. So I have now found this mailing from the summer of 2021: Quote: @Molist wrote on the 1st of June 2021. At least there is no guarantee.

  • How long can you cover the service appointment?

Hello, I have to tap your swarm knowledge again: I drive an XC60 T8, EZ was on 26.03.2021, the car ran about 17,000 km. The car is leased. A few days ago the car informed me that it would like to service it. Since I want to combine the service directly with the wheel change, I would like to do the service only at the end of March. My dealer says that this is no problem, that one can overlay the service “a few weeks”. I actually think it is unproblematic and would not even expect an overlay (EZ was only at the end of March 2021). However, I am irritated that the car pushes for maintenance so early, I didn’t know about my previous V60 I.

  • XC60 Late PlugIn and at 320km highway fogging in between time and again the windows

Hello, had read something here about the topic and today it happened to me more often. Climate on automatic at 21-22 degrees, front nozzles all on and during the highway ride fogged first the right front and rear side windows. Later after about 2 hours my side window on the driver’s side. After switching to manually up and middle it goes away. I never had a problem before. Software 2.5. Thought if the climate is running, can never fog the windows. Are there solutions for this? Thank you and warm regards.

  • T8 and electronic logbook

I don’t want to get rid of this for 100 reasons: 1-99: It only runs under Windows on the Mac and is ….something oldbacken. So operating system and software. 2. Since afterwards it is changeable at any time and without logging the purpose of the journey, it does NOT correspond to the requirements of the tax office. A newer version fixes that probably, but could not be installed. All cheap solutions are only computer-based solutions, where you have to carry everything together on the computer. So you can save yourself. In order to get rid of the platform, it should be a web-based solution with app for the iphone, which corresponds to all strict specifications. So I hit Vimcar – a startup from Berlin -. 899€ brutto without follow-up costs. Another world, no installation costs, simply dongel in OBD socket, register and off it goes of course. Super! Then the big disappointment: It apparently only works in the mode HYBRID. Rides I start in PURE, a hotly burn, now the situation doesn’t run? And now the fleet is well done.

  • Workshop appointment over the vehicle

Moin, I couldn’t find anything about the SuFu: My vehicle says I should make an appointment for annual maintenance. So I clicked on it and I’m going to go. I thought… It comes the message that I should connect the vehicle to my Volvo ID (I actually did, I pay for the VOC). Then comes the message that the vehicle is connected now and I can use all services. If I want to make an appointment then comes the message that I should connect the vehicle to my Volvo ID…. Also a reconnecting brought no solution. What am I doing wrong? OK, I could also call the workshop. But why do something in 2 minutes with a phone call if you can make it fully automatically online in several hours. Best greetings from the most beautiful city in the world! Lars

  • VOLVO V 40 is through!

Hello dear friends! I have something nice to share with you! Was today at the TÜV and had to go to the EK (AU) and the STK (TK) test. My V 40 got through both test procedures without any complaints. I can continue to drive it until 15.01.2020 and the V 40 will be 15 years old in April 2018. At the AU this was measured: temperature of the engine 96° degrees, rotation number of the engine in status: 697 rpm. CO content in % 0.07 HC content [ppm] 84 with more running engine: 2689 rpm CO content in % 0.25 Lambda probes 1,003 In the technical test, the TÜV only contested the left headlamp because it is supposedly too high. They put down. Now I can no longer adjust the headlights with the engines. This no longer works. The Slovak TÜV claims that the V 40 BJ 2003 has no adjustment motors on the headlights. What I can do now, I don’t know.

  • Rinse autom. gear or switch?

Hello dear community! I have the following problem with the automatic transmission: To the Fzg: Built 2004/Motor B4184S2/Motor AW 55-50/51SN/178,000 km It switches very roughly up and sometimes stays in low gears after switching down, so you have to give the car the spores for a short time so that it switches up. In addition, the power interruption does not work in the stand. To separate the power flow at the traffic light from the engine, I have to set it on neutral. Then you notice clearly the interruption. I thought at first that if a transmission oil flush could at least improve the switching behaviour, but since the converter does not seem to work properly anymore, I wonder if I should change the gears immediately. The engine still runs soft and sweats hardly. Oil consumption approx. 1 L / 10,000 km. Only the ventilation and the gearbox are no longer the best. Since I have to sell the car soon, I am putting what I want to plug in. What do you think? Who has experience and can advise me on this decision?

  • Lighting for the display and W-key of the selector lever of the automatic!

Moin dear friends and the forum! Unfortunately I still have a small problem! If I set the ignition key to position II and make stand lighting, I can see the illumination of the display clearly and brightly at the selector lever for the automatic. One can see where the selector lever is at the moment, namely on P. What interests me, is the W key to the right of the selector lever. 1. Is the W key also illuminated? 2. If yes! How do you open this entire display to change lamps? 3. Which lamps are these? Many greetings from Torsten P.S. To explain the W key: the W key is called winter start-up aid. In the case of ice and snow smoothness, an automatic driver has to press the W button because the automatic drives off with the 3rd gear and because the tires can then drive better with great power and little gas pedal.
