  • Volvo V70 2.5T BiFuel

Hello dear Volvo municipality. I need your assessment. I just stumbled over the offer, where a Volvo V70 2.5T BiFuel with 231ps is offered in the summum equipment with 174tkm for 10.990€. Now I have read a lot about the different engine types but still nothing of a 2.5T BiFuel with natural gas. Would that be a good or recommended engine or rather not? My driving profile would be about 40 km to work and 40km back. And in the leisure time the car would be a uch a lot moves so that I come in the month on 1500km-2500km. Advantage would be with the one that one would bypass these diesel prohibitions in inner cities (even if it concerns only individual roads so far) Thanks already for hopefully many info

  • V70 D5 Built 11/2014 – strange noise only when air conditioning is switched on

Hello dear people, I bought a V70 D5 year 11/2014 cared for by Volvo about 2 months ago. Currently mileage about 102,000km. For a few weeks now I have noticed a strange steady noise with switched on air conditioning. This annoying noise is louder than what the air conditioning gives itself when it is turned on. It is not a rat, but also not a squeaking, but sounds like a kind of loud dull (?) fan wheel. As I said, I turn on the wheel. the climate off, then it is completely gone and when I turn it on the noise is back again. No matter how strong I adjust the climate the noise remains the same loud and is constantly there. What can that be?

  • Volvo S80 II Premium Sound: Front bass driver without function

Hello dear community, since this morning I have a problem with the Dynaudio Premium Sound system in my Volvo S80 II MJ2007 and since then the two large speakers in the front doors no longer work. All rear speakers, as well as the center and the two tweeters in the front doors work smoothly and without any problems! I noticed this when I was on the phone via Bluetooth hands-free device, the sound only from the center speaker came, as well as when the front parking assistant started. To follow this up, I put the fader and the balance one-sidedly forward, alternately left and right and then heard that at that moment only the sound came from the respective tweeter. Now my questions: Can it be that I have adjusted something that I am not aware of and the front large speakers are no longer addressed? Can it lie on the amplifier? Are there other things, which I can check? Can you somehow reset the Premium Sound system to make it work again? I can’t imagine that both large speakers are broken at the front at once.. Hope you can help me! Have a nice evening and thank you in advance for reply! udo2k4

  • Advice on plug in hybrid

Hello V 60 driver ( maybe also XC 60 ) I love to buy a used V60 Bj from about 2020. my driving profile is mostly ( 90% ) highway , for short distances I take summer like winter the bike or the BEV of my wife. I mostly drive 600 km at a time – that is about 40 times a year. That means the approx. 50 km electric fall into the bill with the fuel pure but actually interest me the difference between the diesel and the petrol. Fuel monitor is nu r very partially helpful because you will find out more about the entire consumption but how often is recharged and what the cars do not consume by burning. Would be grateful if I hear your experiences and opinions. Alas, my driving mode is gentle, speed usually between 120 and 130, very rarely times 140 or more, if restrictions I go off the gas in time to avoid unnecessary braking. Are consumptions around the 6 liters realistic? also with the petrol engine?? much more should This is because it is not going to happen.

  • “Problems with cooling fluid loss in the Volvo V60 D3 – cylinder head gasket or crack in the block?

Hello, my Volvo V60 D3, built in 2011 with a 5-cylinder engine and 163 hp, now has 230,000 km on the speedometer and is causing problems for me. The cooling system is constantly overpressure. The cooling fluid level was initially at maximum, but after about 50 km the message appears: “Cool liquid level too low, please stop safely.” If I open the cover of the balance tank, the liquid level increases a bit, but I still have to after a few more Kil My Volvo workshop suspects that either the cylinder head gasket is defective or that there is a crack in the engine block. What do you think? Has anyone had similar experiences?

  • So now I’m an official Volvo driver

Of course it must be called “official” Volvo drivers. There the fingers were faster again, sorry. We have now bought a 2002 V70 2.4T Premium, switch with combi/luxury package and sliding roof in sapphire black. Prima car, great equipment, feel-good ambience in the interior, the engine a bit soft (heico or mr sweden will probably change this for me ) and the price was also ok. Well the Saab has not yet quite said goodbye from my heart, so have to see about this. But I hope the V70 will become after a small fresh cell cure (as I said heico/mrschweden, stainless steel exhaust system, “R” front apron, 18 inches – that was the negotiated price with my wife to switch to a family-friendly variant ) What I have seen here in the Volvo forum so far, I felt as extremely pleasant, sympathetic, informative and if necessary self-critical. Greeting Guido

  • Presentation of my foreign-Navi solution

Hello together. I would like to introduce you to my third-party Navi solution. Maybe it helps one or the other in the evaluation of such a device. The installation of a DIN device was not possible for me from the beginning, because I am very satisfied with the built-in radio. At the beginning I planned the installation of a PDA holder. With my HP Ipaq and an additional software incl. GPS mouse I would probably have driven well. Since I need the Navi only about once a week and it in the The NAVMAN iCN630 – system was great from the design. It had all the functions that I always wanted and so I fixed myself on this device. By the way really a great part!!! As a connection between Navi and V70 II I ordered a Brodit holder for the medium ventilation outlet. An optimal position as I noticed after long crumbling. On this holder I mounted a Ball that has exactly the diameter of the NAVMAN counterpart (Saugnapf for disc mounting). With a DC/DC converter, which I provide directly from the car radio with 12 volts continuous voltage, I convert the 5 volts required for the Navi. A discreet socket found then also still space on the Brodit holder. In the appendix you will find some photos. I would be happy if I could read a feedback from you. I am really very pleased with this solution! Although it does not come to the original- Navi ran, but it also costs a lot less!!! Dear Greetings from Switzerland Interbert

  • V70 with external navigation

The PocketPC (Toshiba e350) has exactly the dimensions of the storage compartment next to the radio. There it is now attached to Velcro tapes. To the system itself: As software TomTom Navigator 2.22 is used with TomTom GPS mouse. Compared to the fixed installation I once had in a predecessor, the system is absolutely equal (except for longer tunnel rides) The Softwa However, re uses a small trick to continue without a GPS signal: the last speed is used for about 1 min to continue “blind” on the route. That’s enough even to get the exit Bahrenfeld behind the Elbe tunnel announced. The Toshiba e350 fits from the design almost perfectly to the V70. The display colors can even be adjusted to the V70 green. The complete map material of D, A and CH fits on a 256 MB memory card ! Gruss, Matz

  • “Advanced Functions” on RTI/DVD

Hello guys, I am now also proud owner of an RTI/DVD with TV (orignal SÖT-elchhalterung). at some point I have read something about the “extended menu” or the “extended functions” of the RTI, can unfortunately find the info nowhere more. if I’m not wrong, it was the keyboard sequence BACK ENTER BACK when driving up the navis, or ? thank you and gruesse Roman

  • Starting weakness S60R Part 2

Hello together As promised, I’ll send you the results of the measurement on the test bench. Remember: My father bought a S60R and we felt that the engine for the specified performance did not bring what was desired to the ground. After driving in, my father put the S60R on the test bench at the tuner and see there, instead of 300hp scarce 240hp and instead of 400Nm no 300Nm. No wonder he didn’t jump on the gas. At the moment he is in repair in the Volvo workshop. There is a new turbo. My question: Where is the quality control at Volvo? New out of the factory and already the turbo defective and that it already needs an up-date for the suspension is also questionable for me. I’m curious what else comes.
