Hello everyone, my wife and I are expected to order an XC90 in the coming weeks. We would probably have the opportunity to decide between a model with the conventional Sensus and the new Android UI. Still I don’t know if the two models differ in price. But suppose that not: Which of the two UIs would you then resort to? Are the children’s diseases largely eliminated on Android? How useful are the OTA updates? Are all F tools available in Android? How different are navigation and Spotify in the two variants? Thank you for your answers!

(Cold) Start problem D5 163PS – always jumps at simulated water temperature of 50°C
Hello together, after longer research (also in this forum) I suspect defective injectors as a cause – the car is currently at the Bosch service and I have the fear that they have not listened to me or wanted to listen and first check everything else (and charge) before they do a return test at all. Problem: Half a year ago at -5 degrees did not jump in for the first time. ADAC arrived – with start pilot he jumped directly. Then glow plugs new, battery new, cooling tteltempsensor tested. Then it was everything, but it was never so cold again… Now he did not jump up to 0 degrees in the cold.. still only with start pilot. For 1 year always light sooting at full gas – especially after longer “snow ride”. At cold temp. on the first meters gaaaaanz give light jerking at gaaaanz light gas. Performance otherwise fully there. Diesel filter was replaced – was already overdue – problem still there. A user here in the forum once said that his Mec haniker said that when the rail pressure starts cold, the D5 is less than 200bar, otherwise higher. I followed this “acceptance” and stuck a 800Ohm resistor into the plug from the coolant sensor, i.e. simulated a cooling water temperature of 47°C (according to OBD verified). The engine starts immediately! Is this so that it drives a higher rail pressure directly when the engine is warm? My guess is that it only gets enough fuel to start with a leaky injector. please check the screenshots – especially if the start speed is too low with a cold engine. That’s what the Bosch service wanted to tell me first… Thank you in advance! gruss Axel

Motor bearings change themselves with the V 70II D5
Engine bearing D5 renews Good morning! On the basis of the above-mentioned left visible – I used the SuFu 😉 ….but still found nothing conclusive. Lt. my , and also my own feeling, is one of the engine bearing defective. I don’t know which. Since my elk has already run 240Tkm, (and I think the replacement of the defective bearing may help, but according to experience the others come after in a short time) I want to replace all 3 bearings immediately. my question is: Can you change the engine bearings yourself? I don’t have a great workshop equipment or Volvo special tools at my disposal. Does the engine have to be completely out or is it enough to lift it (somehow)? Do I have to pay attention to something. What needs to be dismantled (drives; axles;…..)? Is there a construction manual somewhere? Thank you in advance for tips, advice, Notes……

Ignition lock defective?
Hello, since today at noon works in my V70 D5, EZ 01.2002, the ignition lock no longer works. Keys can be turned nut just before Pos. 1, then it’s over. Light in the car is still on and steering wheel lock can still be unlocked, but that’s it. Any ideas? Gruss Mike_v70

Where are the electronics professionals? Steering wheel problems
Hey all together, my XC 90 (185ps, 2007) is having trouble again. Error picture: At first a lot of times the turn signal went off. At one time the turn signal did not go at all. In addition, the keys on the steering wheel (Cruise, luter/leiser, etc.) all failed. All buttons on the left turn signal switch do not work (read, info, main light). At the right wiper only the front wiper goes. Rear windscreen wiper, splash water etc. do not go. I read here in the forum a post that it goes to I changed both switches + the module (without steering angle sensor, see picture in the appendix). In addition all contacts and plugs properly and several times with contact spray pushed through. Safety of the steering wheel module (5A) is in order. Unfortunately the problem is still there! Without driving a flasher is not so cool … Someone’s idea? Thank you for your help and greetings, Jones

XC90 laminated glass or tinted panes?
I know this has already been discussed in another Fred. But here perhaps under different optics: I have just ordered an XC90 2.5T. With the moose the rear side windows should be dark tinted like the rear window. This is possible as an option. Now I have read in MT several times, however, that it is preferable to use the variant laminated glass panes and then tint by means of foil. This has advantages for noise development and one can save oneself the alarm system ….. My Fre ander means: – laminated glass clearly brings something, thicker panes, foil, other disc guides, other rubbers and better against theft than alarm system … – tinted panes at the rear bring something in temperature but, tint with foil remains Bastlerei (blases, optics, quality, etc.)!!!??? So, how are your experiences with the tint foils? Thank you for your help!!

Engine damage?
Happy feast dear MT’ler, I ask you for a brief statement regarding the attached photo. Running speed 410 Tkm and valve shaft seals made in April 2018 in the course of an engine revision. Since the still increasing oil consumption… Oilfalls made… Glove test went after that without abnormalities… nevertheless up to 2 liters of oil consumption/1000km…and subjective performance loss… Thanks in advance and have a pleasant 2nd Christmas holiday Thomas

S60 D5 with AWD, is that it?
Moin people, I have been offered an S60, which is supposed to have all-wheel drive. It is the D5 with 163hp, year 03, with climate car, leather, Navi, Xenon etc. Almost full equipment I would think!? The car has run almost 37,000KM. Now I have a few questions: 1. Is there the D5 at all with AWD? (New I can not configure the on the Volvo side!) 2. What pollutant class does the Bj.03, is it still EU3, or already 4? 4. What can the car cost in your opinion? seriously insert my V40 for the S60….although I have mixed feelings, because with the V40 I am very satisfied and with the S60 D5 you can read about a few problems (turbo hoses burst etc.)

S80T6 Shelf life experience
Dear MTler, on a given occasion, I would like to ask all S80 drivers – preferably those who drive a T6 to express themselves here in the sense of a survey: Type, if not T6 (S80 is mandatory) Year of construction/model year mileage so far Fzg. new or used bought previous repairs _except_ wear and maintenance quality impression satisfaction in general Please be so nice and only return this data if possible. I would like to take advantage of this thread once again. As soon as there is a reasonable number of answers, they should be discussed in a follow-up thread. Please do not reply if you do not travel S80… Thank you for your participation…. Best regards Steve

Driving safety training 2012 in NRW
Hi to all interested parties, the esteemed colleague CalagodXC707 has agreed to organize an FST elsewhere. I hereby help him and ask interested parties, dates and possible places. The restriction is on the 1st half of 2012 (if possible), the region NRW (spontaneously I think of Haltern and Weilerswist) and the unfortunately not capped number of participants. Please only serious and realistic dates and participant registrations po Tino and I then have the last word… The whole thing will surely be rounded off by a traditional GT. Greeting Markus
