  • Brakes from high speed

Hey guys, I drive a daily highway and often over 200. Now it is often the case that there are specialists (mostly in the Golf Plus ;-)) who follow a truck with 90, and just then drive out when you come from behind to overtake the truck with 105 KM/H. At such moments I would often have to brake heavily and have often had the feeling that the vehicle becomes unstable when braking at high speeds and swings slightly, or slings something. is a normal D3 Bj 2017 with standard chassis and 205/55R16 Michelin summer tires. Has anyone ever observed that? Chassis and tires seem okay. Car has about 7000 KM. Best Greetings Max

  • motor-talk tests xc90

So: we may be accused of volvo-enthusiasm. but – as far as I know – we are quite independent of economic and national interests. … and open to factual contributions of non-volvo drivers we are also. since I was allowed to move an xc90 through the other for the first time, I think it would be very useful if we were to combine our experiences with the new one in ONE thread instead of just about the different test results of the in the sum should be able to get out such a useful result – maybe the readers even make something out of it. what do you think about it?

  • S80 sheet stable as with 2CV 🙁

Hi! Okay, okay… it’s not that bad – but compared to the “old” Volvos, the sheet metal of the S80 can’t keep up in any way anymore. My father’s S80 now has countless little dents on its side after 3j and even one on its bonnet. (perhaps child who wanted to pass by the bike) Probably because all manufacturers are on the lightweight trip. Safety is not affected by this, since modern cars have stable carriers – but to save weight e If I just think what we didn’t roll into the 244 – in 19j the car didn’t have a single (!) little dent. (and I really always kept the car carefully waxed and polished) I remember having parked once in heavy rain. Unfortunately I had forgotten that right next to the car was a frame where as thick iron bars as bananas were standing out of the ground. I slammed the door open. And it made a noise… yes, one of the kind that really hurts. And then what was? Nothing. Not the least deformation. I’m clear… the S80 is a wide car and that increases the chance that you get a door etc. on the sheet metal… but these countless dents are actually not worthy of a “Volvo tank”. And I actually hardly saw an S80 driving on the road, where I would not have noticed at least a dent on the side. Did you know that It can’t fail at Volvo to stick a few bitumen mats behind the sheet metal. mfG – linn, a little angry

  • Purchase S60R

Hello together I got a price list from my Volvo dealer yesterday. The car and the equipment is really great, but there are some concerns for me: 1. For the S60R a waiting list is kept, since each country has only a certain annual quota. 2. Test drives not yet possible. From when = ? 3. No patterns of upholstery available, since it is about new colors. But before I invest so much money in a car I would of course already of course, I would like to have the S60R as soon as possible and could order it immediately, but is the risk not a bit high? And if I wait with the order until the first models are delivered there is a risk that the annual quota is already exhausted, maybe even for the next year! Then I would have to wait a long time for it. What would you do? Thank you in advance for your tips Gruss Lars

  • S60 against new SAAB 93

I have driven both cars in the last two weeks. It must be noted that the SAAB is the better choice. The Volvo with the 2.4 liter engine 168 ps (in the US version) has no chance against the Saab (Linear 2.0T 175hp also if US version). The S60 is insanely lame – although it is already more expensive in the basic version than the stronger Saab. Go to the 2.4T with the Volvo you are almost $3000 above the Saab. The handling is also considerably better at the Saab. It is almost like a three-way BMW. 0, on the other hand, is heavy as an old E-Class (W124). As far as passive safety is concerned, I don’t think the two of them take much. Design? Both of them don’t pull me off the stool. The Saab is probably a little more sporty. The Volvo looks just good because older Volvos from the past were so creepy cubicist (S70, 740, 240). Is there anyone else’s opinion that the Saab wins this duel loosely? janulrich

  • Capacity of V70 tanks

According to my operating instructions, the V70 has a tank volume of 70 liters on my last trip to Luxembourg (diesel 64 cents) I almost sat down on my ass, according to the onboard computer I could have driven 90 km and 76,96 liters went into the tank (upper edge filler nozzles) would interest me if you had had had similar experiences, nch the tank I had then a range indicator of 1300 KM. normally I have a consumption +- 7Ltr.

  • S60 survey

Hello together, as already announced, the new survey on the recommendation of the S60 motorization appears today. Just like last week I also invite all those to spread their opinion here who do not drive a S60 themselves. Reviews AND assessments, images etc. Have fun and many greetings Jo Next week: C70 Cabrio

  • 2000 km XC90 D5

I now have my XC90 D5 since 2 Woxhen after a long theatre. I drove 2000 km in the meantime and there is only one conclusion. A great car in all matters. After I spared the car the first 1500 km and on advice of my dealer made an oil change (129 €), yesterday on a ride over 600 km I had the chance to run it once properly. I can only dispel all concerns against a lame engine. Except for the small starting weakness up to approx. 20 km/h The engine runs well up to approx. 160, even if you only turn up the gears up to 3500 rpm. Up to 200km/h the engine goes up slowly and then turns about 4000 rpm. On the slightly hilly track A2 at Helmstedt it also easily pulls up the hills at this speed. Only the acceleration uphill above 160km/h somehow does not take place. The consumption according to BC was at the end about 10.8 liters, whereby also wide distances with 120km/h are limited. Otherwise everything is outstanding. The children are especially enthusiastic about the headphones and the rear air conditioning. Oh yes XC90D5 Premium with Xenon, 7-seater, RTI, aluminium, parking aid, heating, black metallic, winter tyres … In 4 weeks it goes to skiing with 3 adults and 2 children. That is then the first correct hardness test. I will then report.

  • New D5 – Questions about “Introduction”

Hello together, how many times I’ve read this message lately…, now it’s also true for me. Since Friday I’ve been the proud owner of a D5 with upscale equipment. I now have a few questions about “starting in”: Is there a driving mode in engine management that causes a higher consumption among other things? I also wanted to have an oil change at about 1500km. Is this common and what should I pay attention to? Greeting Marvin

  • Cooler lamp and flashing arrow – WERKSTATT in Berlin and TÜV

Dear Volvo friends, my Volvo 850 LS automatic has had a few problems since the very latest and also has to go to the TÜV in December. I wanted to ask if someone knows a good workshop in Berlin, which is not now Volvo contract workshop for 5,000€. Or a screwdriver, which can look at my cooler. Problem: Cooler lamp lighted again and again over the summer, saw that cooler fluid is lost and refilled. Then the lid of the cooling water bursted, as o I bought a new one. Now the problem is not so strong anymore, but the radiator lamp still glows. In addition, the red arrow has not always flashed since the latest. The temperature indicator remains constant and the car drives smooth. Everything else on the car is great! Can someone help me?
