  • And he’s ready to go!

    Small experience about the terrain suitability of the XC70, since this property is usually discussed here…. I tried to explore a few dirt roads again today, so I drive the gravel path long, and turn off on a really muddy dirt road which was more field than away. At first it went quite nicely, the mud splashed, that grins became wider, until the ground then became even softer. then came a bend, with rather deep tractor tracks, and I didn’t want to go through it at first, and went into a meadow/field to turn around… 1. error, because the meadow was so soft that almost nothing went on anymore. especially not turn around… after some I decided to drive through the traktorfurchen after all. so with full gas through the meadow and up to the field path… and it was… only that it went right behind the bend up a hill… so further full gas and through the mud… got stuck again (after the again n’piece back and with full throttle and 1st walk manually (oh yes I drive automatic) the mountain up… went wonderful, although it was always muddy, and the mudbroken already hung on the disk. until I then stuck about 15m before the seemingly redeeming dome (after that went downhill on dryer and gravely ground) again … so back about 200 m, to the place where I was stuck. shortly before the already mentioned tractor tracks, are I slipped the front tires away, and I had the rear tires on the dirt road, and hung in front in the meadow…. super…backward back to the road didn’t go… what to do, farmers and tractor would have been quite embarrassing to me… so I was forward the dirt road down to the meadow, there first nice gas given and swing to get to turn, then went also, only I had to Γ‘uf the slightly higher dirt road again… the only solution was to come up there with full gas trying and it worked out, only I thought that I could dig my rear axle out of the mud… and so I and xc70 got totally dirty back home.. I still don’t know where the limits are now, but I know that this fun three hours car cleaning, of which almost two hours only washes down mud, cost me…. but in any case recommended for everyone to imitate (excluded jegl. liability!!) too good decision I’m still enthusiastic about rter of my car, and can say that the awd is great.     Help, color choice XC70 !! (It’s decided. See pictures) Hello together, we decided after a long time back and forth for an XC70. The only “problem” we have is the color choice. The ash gold and brown thruster is preferred by my wife. I prefer Mistral green and blue thruster. (Mistral green is very rare. Has anyone found images on the Internet with this color?) Could you give us your positive as well as negative opinions/experiences on the two color combinations? Thank you very much for your help.

  • Survey of the ZKD problem with the 5 cylinder diesel

    Also at the risk that the topic has already been discussed a little too often for some, I would like to try to start a survey. The concrete question is: was your 2.4l 5 cylinder diesel already affected by the well-known ZKD problem? Interesting to know: 1) Which year of construction/model year was it? 2) How far was the damage? 3) How far-reaching was the damage? (only ZKD, ZK or whole engine) To a bit of the perceived concern advice It would be nice, by the way, if the members who did NOT get this problem reported this. I just start: V70 D5 Bj14/Mj15, currently 65 tkm, so far no problems.

  • Volvo V70 III Year 2015 repair or sell ?

    Hey dear people, I own a Volvo V70 III from 03/2015 (9101/APX). I used to buy the car 2 years ago with 85000km down. Now I had to find out after delivery of the car in a workshop that there should be a) leaks in the manifold or turbo (not quite clearly without the front axle and steering) b) The KAT / DPF has apparently dissolved (I and the car mechanic at 104.000km mileage is very funny) c) Big shell broken from the DPF d) Autob Atterie seems to be coming to an end and should be replaced (says mechanic). I was called a price of approx. 3500 – 4000 EUR (if bad luck also more). Now I ask myself whether it is worth the sum to invest in the car and to have everything done or if I should ask myself what else I could get for the car. I also wanted to ask what you think of the price.

    1. I have lost one of 2 transponder keys.   • Question about dewatering fuel filters

    Hello Elk friends, a few days ago our Volvo had a couple of jerks at approx. 2000U/min and with strong acceleration. Is of course very disturbing – could get worse. I have pondered a bit and came to the assumption that this might be due to water in the fuel filter. After all, it was not drained about 50,000km (yes, a new filter already due). So, now to my question: Does the system have to be vented after draining?? It’s the 1.6l TDI, D4162T, in a V70 III

  • Exchange disc instrument cluster

    I noticed earlier that on our V60 with the digital cluster instrument down exactly in the middle above the odometer there is a crack in the plexiglas disc. I hadn’t noticed that so far. It looks rather like a voltage crack. Googlen now showed me the disc for 72 euros something at Skandix. I have the following questions: Has anyone had the same already. Has someone changed the disc himself? Is there a mounting instruction, perhaps about Vida? Does someone have the Let the disc be replaced with Volvo, what did they calculate? For all still a picture. Of course not taken by me.

  • Volvo xc 60 diesel Bj. 2011grind ring exchange.

    When replacing cylinder encoder, steering wheel had to be loosened with the screw at the bottom of the pedal so that clutch pedal could get out. The steering wheel was twisted and not taken into account when installing it. Grinding ring itself purchased. Volvo error spoke could not be deleted, as grinding ring is adjusted by 70 degrees. According to installation, wheels should stand straight and rotate clockwise grinding ring 3,25 clockwise. I first turned by hand to the right then to the left were 5,3 umdre.   • Volvo conversion to Mercedes Benz -> in less than 1 minute!!

    Hi together, thanks to my daughter I drive from today a Volvo with conversion to the Mercedes Benz. Let’s see if the Daimler-Crysler dealer notices this on the next workshop visit. Anyway, I have now also a star on the bonnet πŸ™ Worse still, I have in the bonnet. Aaaaarghhhh !!! *Eger* Don’t know yet how and if I can get this away again. Hopefully the paint was harder than the cheap plastic ruler of my daughter. Imagine that it is not really in the paint gin g and the linial plastic only left an abrasion on the paint. I don’t know exactly. Unfortunately she tried to copy her feat on the 850’s door (back, driver’s side) – but there were only 3 scratches. I take back everything I said about my daughters so far friendly in the MT πŸ˜‰ and claim the opposite πŸ˜‰ Tschau Torsten – the XC fan (and now star driver! Someone is looking for a girl of almost 6 years old with a lot of IT experience, otherwise good behavior, nice to other children, inconspicuously in the game – but don’t give her a ruler in the hand when a Volvo is standing next to it!!
