Hello Volvo community, today received mail from Volvo Germany and was asked to visit the workshop, as there is an “update program” waiting for my XC 90. I called the workshop directly and made an appointment. On the occasion I asked what was included in this update. However, the workshop did not know any details. I hope that the new software for the rain sensor will also be used, which is known to be not correct in light rain. ig works. Maybe there’s also the heating software for free 😉 Does anyone know anything more specific about you? Greeting Boots

finally the theme tuning for the XC 90 D5
hello… first of all thanks for the answers to the last question regarding the parking aid! I know the topic chip tuning has been discussed here so many times, but somehow never such a one really got to the point 🙂 with me still the question in the room, who takes over the guarantee?! give e.g. heico or MR etc. only guarantee on your chip or on the entire modo-infected motor?! which guarantee by volvo expires if a tuning is made!? as possible so far I have looked at WKR, heico, MR in Germany and bilsport in Switzerland. should I have overlooked important established and reliable tuners?! experience and impressions of chipped D5s were here already from time to time but I like to read them again 🙂 the dear D5er elch will be our first diesel and even if the first chip tuned vehicle, when he finally comes the next week… which general drivers exist at chip tuning. so a ls gray haunted stories are always motor damage, limited running time, restless running of the engine and other things in the room. maybe you just send me your impressions and experiences again and then maybe you can make the decision to give my elch a little power… thank you, and a beautiful Sunday philipp

XC40 as a family car? Or is it only good with the XC60?
Do you think that the XC40 can be used as a family car (mother, father child)? Or do you come across limits (holiday ride, etc.)? I prefer a more compact vehicle. With good use of space. Otherwise, we would have to rely on the XC60, which will then also become significantly more expensive. I can misjudge the boot of the XC40 on pictures/videos without loading. Too bad that the tests of the trunk are not shown. Then I would know better to assess it. My näc hster Volvo dealer is unfortunately also a good piece away. Otherwise I would have looked at this in natura. Currently I drive a V40 CC. For two good, but with child as the only vehicle not really conceivable, because the trunk definitely is not enough. Is the room gain in the XC40 compared to the V40 CC clearly noticeable? What does it look like when comparing XC40 vs. XC60 clearly in everyday life?

First service with the XC40 P8 experience?
Hello! I have the first service with my XC40 P8 in two weeks now after two years. Did someone already have one and can say what is coming to me? I do not want the store to sell me something as “need”, which is complete humbug. In an international group I have read horror articles with a thousand dollars because the hour work on the BEV costs 240 dollars. From people with Hyundai, Renault etc. I read always only “transition for 60 euros”. Yes, what now? Exaggerate! t Volvo here again? Thank you and greetings! Silke

Charging capacity C/XC40 MY24
For the first time I charged the electric battery at a 300 kW station. I was only a little disappointed because the Extended Range can charge 200 kW. For fractional seconds there was 146 kW, after that it went on with a little over 130 kW and in the end an average of 100 kW (the previously mentioned single also reached). Then I included the cold battery and the outside temperature (13 °C) and will test this for comparison on the long distance. Then I want to use the electric battery and the outside temperature (13 °C). Seeing 190 kW on the display The best way is to charge up to 70%. Then the charging power drops significantly and at 80% it was only 46 kW. I fought the charging time with watching a feature film.

RTI Reconnaissance Reconnaissance
Hi guys, 600km I have now got behind me with my new V70 D5. I will report you even more in more detail if I can step through it. But so much now already: a great car Yesterday I saw in Güterloh with a Volvo dealer a whole lot of V70 also BE’s standing. What struck me: mine has a sports bike and looks no different, like without it. At the front could be a little lower, behind is no difference. – Whether the chassis was not installed? – How does it look like But now to my actual question: I haven’t gotten into a traffic jam yet. But this evening it will happen. – Does the RTI system automatically redirect me? – In the menu item redirection, all the KM information, what are they for? – Do I have to select something there to be redirected meaningfully? – Do I have something to consider in traffic jams and redirection recommendations or do I simply follow the navigation? Thanks for tips. CleDi

V70 D5 and Contireifen Info for everyone!
Hello together, had recently opened a topic, because my standard tires ContiContactSport 215 were already after less than 20,000 km at the end. I have claimed this and today received new Dunlop tyres at a preferential price. In the meantime my dealer (re. small) already had 6 further complaints. Other dealers also have complaints. It is now concluded that the ContiContactsport and premium, which are delivered on the factory side, do not fit the V70 D5. he tyre mark and the vehicle is above average high. If you have such problems, you should not let it rest on you, but complain. Maybe then this call penetrates to the factory and the standard tyres are changed. Greetings bkpaul

D5 Drowning at certain speeds
Hello, since December I have been driving my new D5 (~4,000km), am also satisfied, except for a few exceptions. What bothers me the most is the throttle at certain speeds. As a former V70 petrol driver I was used to driving down. With the D5 it is as good as not possible. Around the 1,000 rpm it roars so strongly in the interior that it hurts almost. But if I roll through the city, in the 4th or 5th gear, then I am always somewhere at 1,000. Then I noticed, however, that that there is still such a “drowning speed”, at 2.900. that is then so at speed 140. Outside of these speed ranges the D5 is also louder than the gasoline, which is probably also normal. Am I only too sensitive, or is that a lack that I can complain about? And if complain, you can do something at all. Hobi

Synthetic oils and engine sounds
Hello, my S60 2.0 T (132 kW) instead of the dealer’s mineral oil where I bought the car wanted to do something good and filled in ARAL Supertronic 0W-40. However, since that time there are sounds that I did not notice before. I asked a friend (KfZ master with a very long experience) who told me it could be the thin liquid oil. I have to say I am motor-teshish not unnecessarily, therefore not so really worried, would like to but still get some opinions or hear other experiences.
