Hello together, on the search for a small transporter or large station wagon I found then the 740 without tuv. (pictures in annex) 82 kw the B200F should be year 91. Engine sounds good and drives also clean has 341 ts run and I am the 5th owner. For the HU the brakes have to be made as well as the windshield (stone strike in the viewing area). Now it starts with the questions. I am not clumsy and have also changed brakes several times (Audi and VW) but at Volvo still Never, as I have already read, does the lock number not really help as far as the brakes are concerned because there should probably be different variants. What do I have to pay attention to when I order brakes ? Then I had read because you should not push back the brake pistons (I think that means the brake pressure cylinders (VW)) but with a special tool. Do you need this ? Many greetings Stefan

Volvo V40 Handbrake Change receipts
Hello, Volvo V40. Disc brake at the rear with integrated hand brake to install the new documents which has pressed the brake piston back by means of a reset. Principle: pressing the brake piston and screwing the brake piston in. Is there now a prescribed order after the installation of the new documents to drive the pistons back to the receipts and discs? I have repeatedly pressed the levers of the hand brake back and forth. Thus, the pistons have moved out piece by piece until they reach the Bel ege pressed firmly to the discs when pressing the hand brake lever. No pump was needed for the foot brake anymore, the brake responded immediately. Thank you for an answer mfg

V40 1.8 of 98 tensioning roller completely broken out
Moin Together, more often something new. I bought the V 40 since March, 1.8 automatic, for small money, did a lot and now that. This morning after about 1km drive it made short Klock, battery warning lamp, no servo support anymore. Stopped, looked after, ribbed belt broken. Back home, removed, measured, ordered. So far so good. Just wanted to look how I have to install the exactly….where is the tensioner? It was on the lower engine cover. How do I solve the I used to hang pictures, I can’t take pictures directly, the mirror had to come here. I hope you can see enough.

v40 speed problems when driving and empty running
Hello v40 driver, drive a volvo v40 bj. 98 with a 1.8i. He now has 223000 km. Now I have the problem that he often has speed problems, that is that in idle and coupling the speed goes up to 4000 high, then fluctuates and after a few seconds goes down again to 1000. When I drive and gas give, and then go away from the gas, he passes for a while independently gas. The workshop has no idea What it is and have made oil change and air quantity knives I am in despair, thank you in advance for the help. LG, Erik Ps: bearing damage has excluded workshop

Deep discharge due to defective warning flash switch V40 1,8 ltr Bj 1998
The warning flash switch is a component of this series, which doesn’t exactly shine with fitness. Replaced a few years ago by a new one, because the snap mechanism didn’t work anymore. Well, just a few days ago the fucking switch – and you hear and marvel – made itself independent after setting off, flashed all night in front of it and in the morning the battery was empty, so empty that not even the locking system worked. After charging the battery, goes the turn signal only with permanent light. I assume that the turn signal relay was also worn out. Has anyone ever done this before? Or does anyone know about it?

MJ24 (for B3?) sold out, now model year 2025
My friend actually confirmed to me today that the xc40 B3, model year 2024, is sold out. When model year 2025 can be ordered and with what changes compared to 2024, big question mark! I wanted to order just this week the B3. I don’t know what comes now 😉

Kaufberatung – Diesel – Petrol – Equipment line
Hello! My wife wants another car. Currently she drives a VW Tiguan 1.4 TSI Bj. 2011. At the top of her ranking is the XC40. She drives about 13-15 tkm annually. The easy way to her work is 27 km. She drives almost only curvy, hilly country roads. (with us in Southeast Bavaria almost everything is hilly.) All-wheel drive is however not necessary. Important is a good light, automatic, seat heating, parking aid, Navi and an AHK. (this also has the Tiguan). The AHK w For unbraked trailers (garden waste) and for a bicycle stand. We want to spend approx. 30-32 tsd. Euro. What motorization would you recommend? What is the consumption of petrol and diesel? What is the equipment? Is Momentum enough? Automatic transmission is a DKG or a converter transmission? Are there any known problems?

Volvo 960 2.5 170hp Ruckles/Stutters at low speed
Hello all, recently I bought my dream car: Volvo 960 2.5 year 1995. It has only 125,000km of mileage. I noticed a small problem: in the stationary gas it jerks very easily, the speed needle moves up and down minimally. (almost not visible). More serious is that in the 1st course at low speed a real power hole occurs. i.e. I give gas and have the feeling that the engine swallows or it happens completely nothing. But this occurs only at low speed. The car has just received a fresh inspection including the change of all relevant filters. In addition, the workshop has found that the air supply or the plastic/rubber lines which air lead to the engine are porous. These have already been changed, unfortunately the problem has not been solved. There are no control lights on in the car. Autobahnfahrt etc. is all wonderful. What should I research (leave). I am baffled. Sorry my incompetent mail, i I have little idea of cars or the right terms. Thank you for any help. Christian

Volvo 960 engine problem
Hello, I’ve been reading here in the forum for some time now and I have a problem with myself. It’s about a Volvo 960 2.9 24V (204hp). The engine makes funny noises and I don’t know why. If you just tap the gas for a short time, the engine turns up once, then a drop-off comes and then it turns a bit higher. (Hope you see this on the video at the end. There the engine turns up two times in a row, although the throttle has only been opened for a short time.) and the valves were very loud. Workshop said that this would be normal. A week ago a new noise was added. It’s almost like a diesel engine. I localized it with (near) the water pump. It can’t lie on the belt, I degraded it for testing. The belt tensioner is also gone, but as long as it still rotates the inside remains. The consumption is also far too high (18-20L/100km). What can this be? Is the water pump broken? Now he has 204,000 on the clock, so soon would be on it again. I already did: – camshaft sensor – motor oil – servo oil scrubbing – spark plugs – air filter – cooling water – thermostat – gear oil compression measurement (ca 11-12 bar per cylinder) ECU –> no errors (1-1-1)http://www.vidup.de/v/faDrm/ Greeting Julian

Easy “wummering” at speed 120-140
Hello & good morning, on a motorway ride yesterday I noticed a slight “wummering” during my 240er. The recurring, sonorous hum occurs in the speed range between 120 and 140 KM/H and can be heard in this area always at the same time distance, so probably rather not depending on speed. (Sound picture attempt: Woooom pause Woooom pause… ) It is to be heard in 5th gear and disappears when I decouple in the mentioned speed range. In 4th gear could I don’t reproduce the hum, because the engine is just too loud. Since the noise disappears when uncoupled, you can probably exclude the tires as a cause. Is this noise (which then probably comes from the direction of the drive train?…) “normal”, i.e. a 240-typical form of self-resonance, or do I have any problem with the cardan shaft/the gearbox? The hum is not very loud, you can only hear it when all the windows are closed and the music is off. r a little advice, Dieter
