As I see it, this forum is only run by three people. Asterix, Warfi and Drillschnaffe. Who I miss most is asparagus. At some point we can shut down the shop here as well. But what bothers me most is that there is little positive feedback. If you look at the calls to topics in relation to the contributions, that’s already fraping. Does nobody dare say anything? If the above-mentioned people have no desire for this forum anymore, it’s dead. And that’s a pity. My opinion.

Rear windscreen wiper does not work although you hear the relay ???
Hello, my loyal Elsch (V40, year 1999, 2,0T) is getting me out of my mind right now and I hope someone can help me with my suffering. After the rear windscreen wiper only worked sporadically, I removed the engine and cleaned it as described in the forum. After that it ran for about 6 months again, then it started that you didn’t hear the pump at the splash water switch (back window), but everything still works on the windshield until today. Electricity comes to the rear wiper engine and you hear the relay work, but unfortunately the rear windscreen wiper doesn’t turn any more. Had it tried then also with a replacement wiper motor, but unfortunately without success. My guess that maybe the relay has a crack or the electronics has a problem. Does someone happen to know where the relay for the rear windscreen wiper is sitting? Did someone happen to have such a problem from you and can tell me what I can try out? Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Cigarette lighter no longer works, all fuses are ok
Hello together, I looked in the forum and unfortunately did not find anyone who had this problem already. The following happened to me today. I had the IPOD radio adapter in the cigarette lighter and after a short time I had to pull it out because my IPOD had crashed. After this action my cigarette lighter suddenly did not work anymore. I looked up all the fuses and none is broken (outside and inside). The cables are also externally intact and the cigarette lighter does not seem to be externally defective. I only found a piece of plastic that comes from the inside of the cigarette lighter, but in my opinion only serves to guide the plug and otherwise has no function. My suspicion is that the lighter is still in the bucket and I need a new one. But before I buy a new one I would like to hear your opinion. Is the ZA broken or is there still a hidden fuse? My car: V40 97er BJ 2.0 16V Thanks in advance Max28

Wiping water rear windscreen wiper
Hello, I have the following problem there is no water coming out of my rear wiper nozzle at all. But you can clearly hear the pump running, when does it sound quite “empty”. Can anyone tell me where the hoses run exactly. Those at my old car were torn down and the broth ran into the car. I would like to prevent this. Greeting Moritz

Volvo 850 T5-R purchase advice
Hello, I’m a newcomer both in this forum and in terms of Volvo 850. Now I would like to buy a Volvo 850 for a long time and have found a T5-R that really appeals to me! Nevertheless, I would appreciate some useful hints about what I should generally consider when buying a T5-R, and if the offered T5-R could be worth its price, namely 5,990 Euro. Here are a few details about the car: 220,000 km (no replacement engine), black-metallic, first registration 12/94, two previous owners, gasoline, gear transmission, stitching, CD changer, full leather, regular maintenance, two tire sets, brakes and timing belts exchanged about 2 years ago. Gear and turbochargers have never been changed, but according to sellers information are flawless. Optimally looks very well maintained and according to sellers in a very good condition. I would be very grateful for tips!

850 LW 2.4 10V smokes blue …
… and I mean because of all that I have read here so far on the subject to be able to call the valve shaft seals as a culprit. For the first time, hello to everyone, I address myself to you with the following problem. The said vehicle is year 95, has about 300,000km on the clock and, well, smokes blue. Preferably when “sharp start up” after short idle time, the oil consumption is “a little” too high with about one litre on 1000km. I have not had the error memory read out so far, but the lamp for the Lambdasonde is burning permanently. So far as the (as I think) facts. I hope to remember the real time to think about it, so that I need someone who will take a little advantage of me in the necessary repair. I myself am by the way not a gifted screwdriver, also I have neither the necessary tool nor the necessary space, nor the real time to think about it. So, if there is a screwer among us from the Ruhr area, which has given me an extremely practical opportunity to perform the task of repairing for the best.

Moths, battles or selling ??????
My wife gave me a new car, so my T5R has finished after 8 years. BJ 1995 KM 310.000 TÜV 12/2013 Automatic What do I do with it? Is a great car, but still has a few flaws: -climate harness has a wobbly contact, I already have a new one. -front/back apron and bonnet should be painted. -backrest driver seat without function (reparable). -the sitting dog smiles at the driver -automatic transmission should be flushed -Zahntriebel is due (parts all available, incl. water pump and toothed rib belt) The engine has been overhauled at 240.000 in 2006, including new pistons, bearings and turbo (without charge).

Motor gets too warm
Hello together….. I had written about it before, but unfortunately we could not fix the defect yet…. My engine sometimes gets too hot in the “stop at go / traffic jam”…. Not always, but sometimes….. I visited the Black Forest myself yesterday and on the return trip there was again the problem… We could not find a Macke yesterday (so during the day) ….Doesn’t lose any cooling fluid, the fan starts from the cooler, the cooler works so far correctly….Errors were also not stored… Could it be that the fan or the associated relay has a Macke and now and then don’t start?! Do you have any ideas?! VG Bird

Daylights “Osram Light@Day” on the moose
Hello people (weeds don’t go away) Before someone asks me why a confessing old elk driver is busy with something modern and potentially ugly like day driving lights: In Switzerland it is unfortunately mandatory to drive with dipped light during the day from 2014 – or just to mount day driving lights. Since I don’t want to buy new nightbreakers every few months (usually a real frequent driver), I am looking for day running lights, which can be mounted visually semi-adjustable to an edge. As a place of assembly, the recesses next to the fog lamps offer itself. Since the space conditions just on the right side where the tow hook is located are more than modest, I have not found a solution for the “normal” V70 rods yet, which will satisfy my aesthetic requirements. For #1 with the R-Stosbar I have decided to go back and forth again for those here. The grids of the R-Stosssbar are just a bit further ahead (togooks do not bother with the fixtures) and because they can’t be attached to it.
