  • my elk makes problems again 🙁

Heyho, my elch zicks around again.. my little sparbüchse ?? So, now to the question- last year in October came with me the engine control light and then the ADAC came out because of read out. The error message was the lamda probe.. he could also be the exhaust because it is a little ruffled (now a little bit more) so then I had no money at the time.. wanted to have it repaired about 4-5 weeks later at once the engine control light did not jump on (it came only after the car 4-5 min was warm) – now since almost 3 weeks my temperature indicator spins.. am last week 120 km highway with cut 160-170 and it was not warm – 1 day later I drive 5 km and it has operating temperature- at least after 80km on the highway came the engine control light – now it has the property times it does not come before I drove 8 km it came back and then it came after 3 km… can go through this temperature problem the engine control light to make it all.

  • Clutch does not pull on frost

Hello, I’ve almost got used to the fact that my V40 BJ 2001 (185000km) is plucking the clutch at the start. Now the other day at Frost, there was a sudden break. If the engine is warm, then it’s back again. So far I thought that the clutch lining is due. Now I’ve read that air in the clutch system or defective engine bearings can be the cause. Does anyone have any experience with it? Should I have the lining changed or are there other reasons that are known in the V40? Greetings Axelino

  • Volvo V40 1.8 122 HP. Upcoming timing belt change with Wapu.Experience with accessories??

Hey people, the above-mentioned elk BAusch 2003 is the timing/control belt change. Will also have the wapu change, because the installed miracle pump is still from factory (1st hand) and only at 236000 km is still in it, because the friendly one has tested the and did not consider a change necessary. So I found by car picture that the supplier is for the belt Contitech, so I will address/request a belt set from Contitech in the workshop. Now my question about the Wapu. Which can you recommend to me, does someone know the supplier? Have also seen that Conti even offers a wapu to the belt set from house. Does the what? Does it have to be a pump with steel roll-over wheel, or can you trust the plastic things? Thanks in advance.

  • XC60 D4 AWD – Consumption 12 liters – Workshop finds nothing….

Hello dear Volvo driver, since the beginning of January I am XC60 D4 AWD 2017 First registration owner and mega disappointed. Our V70 D5 drives with 5 liters…… my old V40 D3 consumes just 4 liters. Now the first 2500 kilometers are driven with the XC60 and the consumption is hairy. At the beginning about 16 liters, now 12 liters combined – after 500 – 550 km the tank is empty…. Workshop finds of course nothing, it is due to driving behavior, everything normal…..and I have now kept a diary : Shortest and daily driving distance are 12km, town/country road/place – since it consumes around 14-17 liters according to the super real-time consumption indicator. Long distances 100km-200km with Tempomat 100/120 without much traffic, hardly brake, no overtake 8.4 to 9.6 liters. With the specified standard consumption this has absolutely nothing to do. Any sufferers among you, tips or is the consumption quite normal ??? Thank you !!!

  • Factory collection – Volvo Factory Delivery Experience

Hello together, when I ordered my V90 in November, I also asked if Volvo offers a factory collection. At that time it was said that there is no factory collection. Today, however, I discovered the Factory Delivery Experience program on the Volvo website – consisting of flight to Gothenburg, shuttle service to the hotel, 3-course menu, the following day shuttle service to Volvo, there factory inspection, lunch and – last but not least – delivery of the new car. Has anyone tried the program already? Do you know any details, also about the costs? My dealer must first inform himself. Many greetings Alexander PS: My V90 should come at the end of February, beginning of March – or just me to him…

  • Gear damage

Good day. I’ve been driving Volvo since 2009 and I’ve already leased some models, including V70 and XC60. I’m currently driving my second XC90, it’s a B5 diesel. I’m very happy with the car so far, would say it’s my best Volvo ever. I’m driving about 22,000 km a year, of which 75% long distance. My Volvo has run around 90,000 km. A few weeks ago I heard a kind of howling or buzzing at the time of giving gas. The Volvo has been in the workshop since the beginning of the week, and now it says that the transmission is over. It has to be replaced and because the spare parts situation is difficult at the moment, it can all take a good three weeks. Blöd, I wanted to ride with the car on vacation tomorrow. The Volvo statements irritate me. Therefore, my questions here in this forum: Is this normal that the gearbox in a mature premium vehicle like the XC90 is broken after only 90,000 km? Does it deal with a known problem and is therefore perhaps a case for the culanz? What do you need to repair?

  • Android Automotive – Route planning Google Maps

Hello in the forum, I think it might be quite useful to start a topic about Google Maps in general and route planning in particular… In my brand new XC40 (Recharge Pure Electric Long Range MY24) the Google Maps version 23.10.030000.E is installed and I find no way to enter intermediate destinations, to move these targets as needed and then to have such a “route menu” calculated with the necessary charging stops. So I can only enter a route from A to B, which he then calculates to me in its entirety… It can’t be that one has to rely on the mobile phone and apps like ABRP or Chargemap for a more detailed route planning! In the Google Maps standard version (PC) this goes with the intermediate destinations and the shift… Because I have read in several contributions from this intermediate destination and shift function, ask me if there is anything missing or if the lack of this possibility is perhaps related to the fact that I am in France…?

  • V40 1.8 – Engine stutters / jerks at low speed

Hello, for a long time I have had the problem with my Volvo V40 1.8l 115ps Bj. 98, 300000km, that the engine stutters or jerks during acceleration in the lower speed range up to 3000rpm (as one should call it). The problem especially occurs when I push the accelerator a little bit more through. It seems to me as if it is swallowing itself. In the cold state, right after the start, the problem does NOT occur, only after approx. 500m – 1km goes off. The V40 has been converted to gas since 200000km, the problem occurs in gas operation, as well as in petrol operation – no difference. I have already renewed ignition coils, ignition cables, ignition plugs, without change. The oil is clean, the cooling water is also clean, neither great water nor oil consumption. Was at Volvo to read out the fault memory, has cost 35€ and allegedly found no faults. (Allegingly I don’t trust them at all, they can give me a break again. But the problem is not like Krüben?

  • Half electronics are out.

My car had a little bit of trouble: And it felt like half of the electronics had gone off… It started with the lights, like I started the car after work! I already noticed that both The Traction Controll and the ABS warning lamp lit. By pressing the traction switch did not turn off! When I looked at the speedometer for a short time, I noticed that also the one I didn’t look at so many times – therefore only later – I didn’t know if the speedometer at first was gone at all. After I read that some cars had to calculate the speed with the ABS-Fühler I didn’t care too much about it. A restart at the red light also got nothing, although the 2 control lights went out first and only at the start did not go on again! When I then turned in to the station – even if I had again had doubts, whether this was still up, but with 3 liters in the tank lt. Boardlight ^]-Did not mind that the Bäkho also went with the lights as well as the Bäkho did not get the same.

  • Workshop costs fair? Change VVT incl. timing belt! mj03 petrol 1.8l

Good day to the round, would like to join my Elchi in the workshop (Volvo specialist workshop). Because of camshaft adjusters exchange. Most of all, including timing belts. (mj03/1.8l petroler) Now I am a little scared after the telephone estimate. ca~500€ for the exchange of the VVT unit was so well known through this forum. For the function test of the solenoid you would like to add 100 euros more! Because according to the statement: If this one has broken, the adjustment unit will also go again soon!? Measured and 4 screws solve with brake cleaner pure blow 100 euros? Then I would like to change the timing belt. The Elchi now has 122000km down. At approx. 92000km, tooth belts and pump has been renewed(3 years ago). Would you also advise me to renew the belt? Or even the pump with it? I ask so, because the workshop would like to change the timing belt further 300€ for the change of the tooth belt!
