  • 2009er V50: rust on the fender

Hello, today both in the back and in the front have dismantled the wheelhouse cladding, as I would like to use Mike Sander’s fat under it – as rust protection. And what must I say, I already have rust base on the grooves (covered by the plastic cladding). See pictures. (are the front advice boxes – in the back is still everything i.o. – so at least no rust base – but the color is still slowly fluted because the cladding scratchs on the paint) Will turn my car into a dealer on Monday. What to do here? Fuck man – the cart is only four years old. Pope

  • V 50 2.0D – throttle valve

Dear community, our V50 2.0D has now run 67,000km. I noticed from the water filling that the engine compartment cover is centrally in the front area and the cover of the fan wheel is oil-lubricated in the middle. At a short look under the cover I noticed that the intake hose is also oily there and the oil is in the small diagonally installed “bust” in front of it. Meanwhile it is also dripping on the underlying hose. The one here in Mannheim (where I am now working) has confirmed by telephone that this is the throttle valve that has to be replaced. Next week I drive to the installation. Can you tell me briefly whether this is a known problem at the 2.0D and (far more important) what the fun will cost? I hope and assume that the completed connection guarantee will take over the (partly) . To the throttle flap I only found something to the gasoline engines in the SuFu … Grus vom Fred

  • Switch speakers (S40, performance) – but which new ones?

Hello, since I want to have a nicer sound with a little more bass in my S40, but this one only has the normal performance radio, I would like to exchange my 4 loudspeakers in the doors. Now you ask me the question which one I should build, and since I have no idea about it I have found out here that it is 16cm loudspeaker and I need such distance rings (for the installation depth…). Which one do I buy? 2-3 way loudspeakers? which brand? Price up to 200Euro (4 speakers + 4 holders) I thank Fabian already

  • Every year again – tyre change & torque

Hello Elchgemeinde, I’m kind of insecure about the combination manual – Motor-Talk. Lt. manual are to tighten rims to my V50 2.0D with 130 Nm, without distinction whether aluminium or steel. Here in the forum I find almost every value between 85 and 120 Nm for aluminium rims (my are original Volvo). On my previous vehicles I had always only steel rims and pulled the through the bench away with 120 Nm and neither lost nor damaged. Since I’m unsure, my little elk now stands with 60 Nm of necessarily tightened rims in the garage and hopes for an exhaustive answer. Thanks already Jens

  • 60tkm inspection costs ! They spin then ???

Hello together, my S60 had just the first time for inspection. Speak 60000 km (the inspection has taken over before the friendly one) . Now the invoice: 475 ,- € !!!. Nothing was repaired or serviced without plan. Only knits according to service booklet. A previous request at my friendly returned a maximum price of approx. 390,- € (depending on what you find,so the friendly one). And now this invoice. Honestly, I have chosen the wrong brand, or falls my friend only out of the frame. What has to be done if the brakes are still due ,or similar . Will wait for your answers and then pay my friendly a visit . Weddi

  • Turbo whistles steering stop knob D5

Compared to my last XC90 D5 185hp(EZ 11/05) the turbo whistles clearly with the modified (equivalent engine EZ 4/06), in addition comes a fire that goes lgs. on the nerve. Sometimes sounds like an automatic mofa. Does anyone know that? My friend says the resonance body has been changed in the meantime and everyone is whistled now?!? Is that true? Besides, the steering is crackling at the end of the steering impact on both sides, was not at the same time. Don’t be sure to fix that the frdl. Does anyone else think that? In the old case, the exhaust tailpipe was still bright after 10000km, now already after 2000km black. In the meantime another particle filter was installed which is absolutely maintenance-free, in the old case a cartridge has to be changed after 100000km (300.-Euro). I assumed that the first one had a completely maintenance-free particle filter. Thank you for your answers, Greetingol

  • 2.5T or 3.2-6-cylinder in S80 / XC90?

Dear Forum, since the new S60 is still waiting (if it comes at all), I have been informed by my dealer about the new S80 and the XC90. Both models are currently available with the well-known gasoline engine 2.5T with 200 hp (or 210 hp) and will be delivered with the new 3.2-6 cylinder and approx. 240 hp from 2007 onwards. The sales consultant now said that the 2.5T engine would be replaced by the 6 cylinder, i.e. the 2.5T would be completely removed later. Can I not imagine, however, that the gasoline starter models only started with 240 hp. Normally the engine pallets are rounded down rather to the bottom. Unfortunately, I have not found anything in the forum yet. Does anyone have any more information? Do you think that waiting for the 6 cylinder would be worthwhile?

  • The new V70 in ams

The V70 III, which is based on the new S80, is to be launched in 2007. It should have the same engine range (i.e. up to 4.4 liters V8), whereby a charged version of the 3.2 liter 6-cylinder should push the future V70R. Up to B-pillar it should be identical to the S80! You will see… Ulli

  • Torque support

Hi, has anyone tried the reinforced torque support from you? It is replaced at the back of the engine for the standard model. The part is used in Focus ST warehouse and is always praised there. Fits for switches and automatic gasoline. Many greetings Thomas
