  • Purchase decision Request for help πŸ˜‰

Hello together, I’m looking for a new vehicle and came across Volvo. I’ve heard a few things myself but I’m totally layer about that. I’ve got the V 70 or 850 in my eye. I heard the 143 hp is supposed to be very good when it comes to motorization. The question at this point is what do you think of the turbo variant (193hp) and four-wheeler? Are there any other things I really need to keep in mind? Can you expect something for 1000€ – 2000€ or do you have to take a lot more into your hands? Would I be happy if you could help me (I hope I didn’t miss anything in the SuFu) Thank you in advance Pascal

  • Problems with temperature display

Hello together, have had problems with the temperature display of my V50 Momentum 2.0 D year 2006. And indeed the temperature display spins, this at the moment always shows temperatures against 0Β°C. Have already researched and got out, that in the driver’s door is a plug where the whole cable (also of the temperature sensor) runs from. The connections on this plug oxidize and thus it comes to these temperature jumps. The remedy is to renew the plug, but this is not so easy there several wires run and it has not even been done. This is a cost-spiile thing, if it is because it is! Does someone already experience this problem here? What can you do? Try to clean the plug with spiritus, maybe it works.

  • V 50 for giants as commuters

Hello people, if I have driven a car in the last years, then my wife’s Golf V. I was lucky enough to work in my city and to be able to work with the bus or on foot. Now there is a change of employer and I will have to drive back from Nov 1. 75km to the workplace and 75km. The breakdown is about 5% city, 15% country and 80% highway, wobwi the speed is mostly limited to 120 km/h. Since we young people plan it should become a combo, then my attention fell to the V50. In question would be a one to three year old car. The price assumption is +-17,000 €. Since I have a few questions. Is the V50 suitable as a commuter car? Is it suitable for giants over 2 meters size? Which engine (diesel) would you recommend to me? Which equipment or equipment line is recommended? What does the retrofitting of a removable trailer coupling (for bicycle carriers) cost? Does anyone have a comparison to the current golf variant?

  • What don’t you like about the V50?

Hello together, Small survey … Shouldn’t be a V50 Bashing πŸ˜‰ Forward – I drive my V50 now about 6 weeks and I like it in principle very well, but nevertheless you certainly have the one or other point that you would like to see improved. By that I also mean design questions, but more functional points. In my opinion this would be very bad: – the clarity at the front (the column on the driver’s side of the windshield and the limited view at the shoulder view. I find there is also the column in the middle extremely disturbing. – the outside mirror represents in my opinion the distances very bad. The distance that one perceives through the rear mirror is a different than through the outside mirror. I also find on a 3 lane A-Bahn on the right side of a ride you can see relatively bad whether a pKw in Derrick middle or completely left. How is your opinion and what bothers you?

  • Other aprons

Hello, I’m just about to upgrade the R-version with my v50, side skirt, rear spoiler from the lip for the front I already have, come next week finally. However, I just find no matching rear bumper, or at least such a rear bracket for my endoh, because soon also a stainless steel exhaust system from remus follows and I don’t want to just hang the raw one under the rear bumper, I find mega ugly. therefore I find a bumper that already has the savings for the endohe, as with the d5 e.g. (I think) I know, I could also easily cut this plastic part under the rod, but I find this matt gray plastic already groaty alone. Someone’s idea what you can do? Or can I maybe just cut a shock rod from the d5 or something like that?

  • C70 II: Volvo Pro connection guarantee – experiences?

Hello dear Volvo Initiated. I seriously think about allowing myself the Volvo Pro connection guarantee for the time after the two years manufacturer warranty. After request at a car dealership I received the cream-colored Volvo Flyer as a PDF connection guarantee.Link to the PDF of the warranty conditions There is a list of assemblies and parts, which are covered by the warranty, but on the other hand it makes me exactly that: If I list something this means that the not listed is not covered by the warranty. For comparison: with Volkswagen it is simply stated in the flyer of the warranty extension: “The performances of the warranty extension [….] correspond to the full extent of the manufacturer guarantee”. That’s a word I find. In the Volvo brochure you have just made the list of the assemblies “Motor, shifting / automatic gearbox, steering etc.” nervous, because the body does not occur anywhere. Thus, a defect in the cover mechanism would not be included. Have you made good / bad experiences with the connection guarantee, or did you have to take it from the C30, S40, V50, H70 in demand of the bodywork? Did you really have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have

  • Help! No power after oil change!

Hello guys, I did an oil change on my V50 2.0D this morning. Did everything work out wonderfully. I had to dismantle the Y suction tube. I noticed that one throttle flap was fully open and the other closed completely. I didn’t think about it. After the oil change everything was installed properly again. Also the hose clamps are bomb-proof again. However, I have the problem that I have hardly any power at the first ride. What can it be on now? Have everything dismantled and installed again could not find anything! I’m a bit helpless! How is the “zero position” of the throttle flaps? One open, one closed or both have to be open. I suspect that the second is only switched on when more power does not do it. About a quick and helpful answer I would be very grateful! Greeting, Nightflight

  • Volvo c70 D5 Sumum, sounds from rear or rear axle

For 3 years I’ve had a c70 d5 Su. Recently I have dull noises from the rear suspension left or rear. Volvo has replaced part of the damper suspension. After a short time the noise was back. Can someone help me who had similar problems. The noise sounds as if parts would hit each other or a rubber suspension was missing. Greeting Amy

  • Bluetooth V50 : Compatible new mobile phones

Hello to the forum, we have been proud owners of a V50 R design since mid-October and actually very satisfied. Only the Bluetooth hands-free system does not work as we imagined. The Samsung SGH F-480 of my wife is recognized, but breaks off the conversations. So we made ourselves on the Volvo side smart and found that there are suitable and less suitable mobile phones. The Samsung e.g. interrupts after a few seconds the connection to the hands-free device. The mobile phones, which are listed in the Volvo catalog but no longer correspond to the current delivery level. My wife was in the mobile phone store. There was determined due to the submitted Volvo list that there are either no more indicated mobile phones or these do not correspond with the specified Volvo tested firmware anymore because partly this firmware has already changed twice or more. Question now to you: Who has bought from you a new Volvo with appropriate hands-free device and which mobile phone works with you? First of all – then all mobile phone functions – like e.g. dial up by voice control? Because according to the Volvo list falls even with the phones that are offered as a top hand? Who uses these mobile phones?

  • how do you enter “St. Moritz” as a destination in the Navi…?

How do you actually enter places in the navigator that consist of two parts or are separated by point, line or space, for example “St. Moritz” or “Kamp-Lintfort” or “Neu Ulm”. My RTI Navi shows a submenu “further characters”, but in it are activated only ΓΌ, Γ€ etc., all others are not selectable. Rolo which is curious which solution there is
