  • Gear damage Volvo V40

    Hello dear people, I have unfortunately again a new problem on my Volvo. After a clutch damage (about 170 Tsd.) (the workshop told me it is the printout bearing and has made the clutch new), is now two months later the gearbox broken. When driving there was suddenly no more drive, so the gears could be inserted quite normally just the car didn’t drive anymore. Now the workshop told me that there is a hole in the gearbox and the car would have lost a lot of oil. Can this happen now due to the previous clutch damage? Or was it already broken and was overlooked when the clutch was replaced? And my last question, the workshop meant that a used VW could be built in, which would not be so expensive. Is this really just so?? Would you like to hear a few opinions, I just don’t know if I should do that. Thank you very much!

  • MAx. Tyre size on rim -> Crater 7.0 x 16″

    As can be seen in the subject, the org. Volvo rims have “crater” and need new tires, which tyre size can I do maximum on it? There are 205/50R16 on it now! These are also available as max. in appearance, so if you can mount something bigger, they would have to be registered anyway. If you have a tyre tip, I would also be very grateful! Oh and what else….I have the V40 SportEdition, but without a sports suspension, the current chassis is already quite “soft”, you mean a conversion to sports suspension is worth it? What will that cost in some way? EDIT: I think I already found it:http://www.motor-talk.de/showthread.php?… The question is now only, do I have to be a friend because of the parts appraisal, or how does it work?

  • XC 90 II D5 does not start

    Hello, since today’s noon the XC 90 doesn’t speak to any more. We have placed it in a parking lot, are back after about an hour and he didn’t let himself start. That means foot on the brake pedal, ignition is on, all indicator lights on the dashboard light, no error message but the turning of the start button to the right remains without any reaction, it does nothing. The car can be started when locked but over the Volvo app remotely. However, as soon as I put myself in the car, the brake kicks and turns the start button to get out of the long-distance start into the regular run, the engine goes out and, as described above, can’t be started. 10 key (clamping battery) I tried twice, no change. fuses all seem OK. Does anyone have an idea? Just stand on vacation somewhere in Croatia and a towler would have to drag the car pretty far to a Volvo dealer…

  • XC 70 bj 2003 a good offer?

    Hello, there is a change of vehicle with us and I have been busy the last 4 weeks with the vehicle choice and the “problems”. I have now found the following vehicles:http://home.mobile.de/AUTOhandel-JABER#des_169257364http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=220509076&asrc=st It should be a car as easy as possible, am I there on the right track, or rather without XC take the 2.4 petrol without turbo? Important is 2 ml in the year 1.5t caravan approx. 4000 km Otherwise only 2 * 20 km per working day. I have the feeling the more you read it becomes the more complicated … Thanks already for your assessments. Greeting Jonas, wife and 2 small children (3+1) PS. at the moment we drive an espace from 2006 as diesel, which doesn’t like short distances at all.

  • D5 Diesel particle filter to – manually activate burn-off?

    Hello together, I have experienced it several times now, that the message “soot filter full” appeared and then the engine went into the emergency run with higher load. After a “restart” the emergency run was clearly noticeable but the resistance in the exhaust line – reduced power at the same time significantly increased consumption. Despite about 1,000 km drive nothing changed, a regeneration did not take place. So far I have had no problems with the DPF, the vehicle is mainly moved on the highway with speedy driving. The talk is of a 2007 D5 with 185 hp. So far the DPFs were considered to be very durable, what I have heard. I now ask the question: 1. Can one trigger the regeneration manually, possibly electric? 2. I would expand the DPF and possibly replace it with a new one or burn it free? 3. Could an exhaust sensor be defective, which prevents the regeneration? Who can help me – Best greetings and a nice evening wishes carrier bag

  • Wireless Carplay Adapter

    You think for everything there is an adapter. why hasn’t anyone invented a carplay adapter yet? Wireless carplay builds up a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection at the same time. That no one has yet managed to build such an adapter that is plugged into the USB port and then builds a WLAN/Bluetooth connection with the iPhone and forwards the signal to the infotainment. BMW doesn’t do that any other way. I would also pay 100+ for this. Only you can’t buy it. Or do you know more?

  • How much do brakes cost when you’re a friend?

    Hello, I need new brake discs + blocks in the front and only brake blocks in the back. Auto= V50 T5 (so the heavy braking system) How much does it cost?

  • Wild accident 🙁 now it got me too.

    Well – yesterday it got my open air also: wild accident. I still have the fright in the limbs. But it all went out happy. In a piece of forest suddenly a deer right in front of the right front, no chance to do anything. There was a bang and a very nice sentence, the car put it to the right on the grass but I could just catch it. Actually then I saw in the rear mirror what happened. The track is quite narrow, unclear and it was too dangerous to stand. So first 1 km away and parked at a bus stop. Police informed and sent the wildguard. Then first the car to inspect. Then what should I say: nothing to see at all! But that doesn’t have to be called anything. Today early brought the car to the workshop and now the result: nothing! Apart from prints on the inside of the front aprons, everything is ok. Crash structures, driving station, spotlights, clogging mass to the cucklings. But this morning the car has to be brought to the workshop and now the result: nothing! Apart from prints on the inside of the front apron, I couldn’t believe it was a total damage.

  • Why is it so hard…

    I’ve been driving my S40 for 5 years and wanted to treat myself to a new one a year ago. Unfortunately, I had a lot of bad luck with my car when it comes to the repairs. But almost everything was covered from the warranty. Unfortunately, Volvo behaves differently than kulant in terms of kulanz. But that’s another topic…I’ve already tested some cars and not a single one was in line with my expectations. Either the driving behaviour was not right or one was uncomfortable. And it was all so-called premium brands. If it goes on like this, I’ll drive them in 2 years. Also I’ve tested the V40…a really good car. Unfortunately, I got annoyed about Volvo right at the time. Wg. about 70€. Maybe I have strange demands??? I really don’t know. As long as there is no better one, I won’t buy a new one from another “stall”.

  • Help for headrest support on back bench

    Hello Volvo municipality, I still can’t believe it! We have added a new child seat (Maxi Cosi – Rodi XP). During the installation of the child seat I wanted to remove the headrest on the rear bench, so that the child seat is right on the back bench. Now the headrest can only be folded forward (to put the back seat over). Finally I called the Volvo workshop and dared to ask the “banal” question, how to remove the headrest. Spotan could not help me anymore either and called me back after about 2 hours with the result that I can’t grasp: the car has to be removed to the workshop, because the headrest has to be removed – time expenditure 2 STUNDEN (of course not for nothing) – but I don’t see it as an option, because I don’t use the child seat only on one side. Can maybe someone help me here, how I can dismantle the headrests ? It is a V70 construction year 2003 with which I’m otherwise very satisfied. Grus Bernie68
