  • Alternatives to Volvo Navi

Hello together, so first of all praise to the forum, I have already received a lot of useful hints. In the end this has also led me to order an XC70 Mom./ D5 in blue 4 weeks ago. However, I find that the original Navi with its performance is much too expensive. Therefore I will retrofit. First I was with a TomTom GO 700. But now I see that you get already under €1000 a fully-fledged Navicomputer with 7-inch screen. Sounds good … only, how does it look with the installation? Does the XC have a DIN shaft? Do I then need apertures, adapters? How is this with the cable, can I/man do something like that yourself? What do you think about theft when there is always such a TFT in the car? Isn’t this a temptation (living in Frankfurt)? Your opinion would interest me. Greet NN P.S.: Be happy already like a small child on the elk!!!

  • XC90 loading area and dog

Hello everyone, I have looked at the XC90 7-seater in the sales room today. Everything is very nice variable, lots of space and finely processed. However, I noticed that the loading area is quite high compared to ML or Touareg. I have a low-built Labrador and am not sure if I can teach him to jump up there by myself. (currently the animal is used to a normal family combi). And the 30 kg each time there is no alternative for me…. Do the dog owners among you experience this? Could that be a problem? Greeting Alani

  • D5 doesn’t smoke?

Moin together, it is always said that our common rail D5 does not smoke. However, I have seen the smoke in the lights of the following several times during the strong acceleration (volleast) on the Atutobahn behind me. The turbo hoses should be OK. Have you noticed this before? Greetings Flodder

  • Scratch: That poor moose

The V70 of my brother was badly damaged by an unknown perpetrator. The paint has been scratched all around; scratches go in between to the metal. Short visit to the Carroserie Master resulted roughly estimated an effort of approx. CHF 6000.- !!! Advertisement against Unknown has also been made. Can not understand what the motivation for this can be ?? The insurance will take over the damage thanks to full cash (for the time being). Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3 Photo 4 Photo 5 Photo 6 Photo 7

  • Engine oil loss

Hello drive a Volvo V40 1,d with 115ps. I had oil changes this week and the mechanic told me that my Volvo has a bit of oil loss but so wistful that I have no stains on the ground. Now my question is that there are any particular seals that like to be broken or something? Lg

  • keyless entry at XC 90 Bj 2016

Hello have a problem with the keyless entry with my xc90 Have already changed the battery with both keys.. Unfortunately without success, can this lie in the context of the 12 V vehicle battery, since I have already had a long problem with the start stop and the stationary heating. In this connection my Volvo workshop manager once told me that stop-go and stationary heating would not work because the 12-volt battery would be almost at the end. But did they not change at the time because the car still sprang well and the costs of a new one are not exactly given. So can now also keyless entry be used in connection with it?

  • Side panel no longer automatically lowers

A week ago we had snow and ice. The side panes were frozen, so that the automatic lowering could not work when the door was opened. Now everything is thawed again, since then the window on the driver’s side has not been lowered and lifts itself automatically. Manually, however, the window can be driven up and down quite normally. Isn’t there a trick to calibrate the windows? Thanks for the tips!

  • Confusion when specifying timing belt change V50 1.6 Petrol

Hello, I have read here in the forum, in maintenance plans of Volvo and Ford various information about the interval of the timing belt change and am now somewhat irritated, because I would like to risk a damage here. Vehicle: V50 1.6 gasoline Zetec-SE Ford Alu engine. 123.000 KM BJ 07 / 2005 Regular maintenance, but first timing belt. During the last maintenance in April 2013 at 107.500 KM I was not pointed out about an upcoming change. The car was already almost exactly 8 years old information that can be found about this: Change at – 120tkm or after 8 years ( you find more often in the net or here in the forum ) – 140tkm or after 7 years or mx 10 years ( maintenance plan ) – 160tkm or after 10 years ( maintenance interval at Ford Focus ) Since I have now 123,000 on it and in the 8.5 year I am somewhat unsure!? I actually wanted to make it during the inspection next spring. If the installed tooth belt is critical or susceptible to it ? After maintenance plan I am not even still a bit of time. But I still have a bit of time.

  • C30 Start/stop without function

Hello Elchfreunde. I’ve had my C30 DRIVe Kinetic D2 for a good 7 weeks now and I’m really thrilled, especially from the noise level, had a Golf 5 1.9 TDI before and it was unbearably loud compared. But now to the problem, my start/stop doesn’t want to work! So far I drove a good 3000km and he switched off exactly 1 time after I drove 600km of highway at a distance. That can’t actually be, right? The car is Ez. 8/11, 6 gear and has now run a total of 37tkm, I drive 23km a day per way to work, the temperatures are currently still quite mild, so actually there should do something, right? I bought it at the Mitsubishi dealer and unfortunately also has to go there because of warranty stories. Think they won’t really know the car so well, so I wanted to get n tips here before I make them all crazy. Does anyone have an idea where the problem lies?
