Hallöchen, I have now joined the group of V40 owners as well. It is a 97er 1.8 automatic 170Tkm I like the car very much, but I have a few problems or questions about you for many years. 1. I find the brake relatively spongy, but what I have read is normal. Is that true or can you recommend to me reasonable other brakes? 2. Something is loose in the amature board at the front left, which is soldering/klappert like sour with cold engine in the condition that it is not nice any more. When driving ice out. Is as said only when driving stage is in place and the engine is cold, so relatively high standing gas has 3. somehow I have not quite understood the ZV. Open and close all the doors as they should, but I can only open and close the trunk flap with the key. Is there any kind of fix there? Up to now I have only read about non-opening or closing doors. 4. I can also not close my tank lid. No matter how I can close it all, I can open and close it again with the key. I can’t find my little help.

The elk starts very badly..
Moin, my v40 has had the problem for about 2 weeks that it starts very badly… The starter doesn’t go crazy, he just stops shooting then I try it again then he turns a little longer and stops, usually with the 3 times kicked clutch he then jumps on. If you think I’m stupid – battery is full!

ABS lamp lights – jerking when braking
Good evening, I have the following problem: With my Volvo 855 the ABS lamp is very often lit. If I brake – so there is nothing of ABS to feel – so not in operation. But it also happens that the lamp is off. Then I have a jerk in the same when (something stronger) braking. Can someone help me? Thank you.

The perfect used car from 200000km
Moin, while currently driving a long-term runner from Japan, I would have liked to have something bigger over a short or long period. Since I can’t afford a big jump even in financial terms (housebuilding etc.) it should be a reliable, economical diesel. I have to say that I mainly drive city/locality and country road, very little AB c.a. 12000km/year, so hardly any trips over 130km/h Among my favorites are the BMW 520d Touring od. Limo (e39) of the Volvo 840, V70 possibly also the S60-80, all so from BJ 2002/3 and neatly KM on the clock. There should be no barrels without soil and no permanent construction site, because I only have a very limited budget but an old master who can fix it to me one or the other. Japanese fall flat as most from 150000km with gear bearing problems occur (from Honda to Toyota) What would you recommend me?

The trunk won’t open anymore
Good morning together…. My trunk won’t open anymore. ZV seems to work, but the lid can’t open anymore.. Can’t open when I try it right at the back of the trunk lock. Lid just stays too… Someone’s an idea? Pretty stupid when the lid doesn’t open anymore… Best regards Bird

Drive shaft
Hello.. to me at the end of the week something sch*** happened.. wanted to drive away from me at home, then come about 10m and then nothing was going on.. then I immediately tapped on the drive shaft.. everything disassembled.. then the surprise.. the bearing in the drive shaft (gear) is broken.. gibtss that then? can you buy such a thing individually or only the whole wave?

Reliability of the engines 140/170/225 hp in 850
Hello Volvo driver! After I was disappointed by Mercedes (reinvented the rust), I would like to afford a Volvo and a 850’ger. I just like the classic design and want to make as much as possible myself. Since I have had bad experiences with electronics in the car, the 850 is also very nice for me. It is important to me that I can overlook the technology and the car is extremely reliable. So now the question is: Is the turbo engine as reliable as the other two 5-cylinder versions? Do the other chassis components suffer from under the extra power (drive shafts, etc)? I am not a heater, but I want to be able to offer reserves during overtaking operations. The price plays a minor role; I am concerned about a car with performance reserves that are as good as possible without loss of reliability. What do you mean? Search C70 I – Buyer’s advice/tips
Hello, I’m new here in the Volvo Forum, because I’m looking for a C70 I. Volvo experience I did have (940, 960, 850, V70 I), but would be very grateful for a few tips from C70 experienced people. I unfortunately scrapped my 960 Volvo 2 years ago and therefore drive a Golf VI at the moment. This one should now give way to a C70. Search a C70 I with the following criteria: – max. 9 TEUR – automatic – approx. 100Tkm In the net I could find at the time four, which come into question for me. Unfortunately these are all several hundred kilometers away (live in Berlin), so that I could not yet look at any of the cars.
