  • Your choice?

Tomorrow is election day not only political, but I want to finally make my decision between my alternatives BMW X3 3.0d and Volvo XC90 D5 Inspription. I ask you for your experience. I like the BMW of the enormous throughput, the sporty driving behaviour as well as the low consumption. I beat it as a car about 400 km over the highway and consume only about 10 l. Basically I think that the four to five year old motorway rides with my family can be survived also in a smaller car, because otherwise I actually drive most of the time with too much sheet metal for only one person?! I like the XC90 Volvo very much, and drive myself a V70 D5, but am uncertain whether the performance for such a large car in everyday operation is really sufficient. My driving behaviour is about 25,000 km of motorway per year. What are your experiences with the XC90? How much do you consume, what are the advantages you see with such a car? Thank you in advance for your support and advice.

  • What do XC90 drivers choose?

Basically Volvo drivers are probably more concerned about safety than others, after all this image adheres to the Swedes tanks. So if you are faced with the choice: safety feature or rather performance/optics, what would you choose to do? prefer PDC, than wooden steering wheel? switch off airbag or protective plate at the rear? laminated glass or wider tyres? xenon light or design package? Or do you whistle on it and just take everything? Greeting Martin

  • 2 technical questions on stationary heating

Dear standing heaters. Did I have the stand heater unlocked for the D5 at Rossi in Desenzano and ask myself now, since the operating instructions do not say: 1. How warm does it heat up at all? Logically, it would seem to me: up to the temperature set in the climate automation. Is that right? Or does it just heats through, without regard to limit temperatures? 2. Does the “preheating” of the interior at extreme minus temperatures possibly also have a preheating effect for the engine? So you do him something good in the winter? (* puzzle*) Who shares his knowledge with me in this respect? Thanks already in advance. wgr

  • XC90 D5 185PS is ready to pick up!

Hi to everyone, I’ve been interested in this forum in the last few days and will pick up tomorrow 16.09.2005 my XC90 D5 185PS from the friendly. Equipment: XC90 D5 136KW (185PS) Silver Metal, 5-Sitze Momentum, Leather Anthracite Sliding Roof Removable Towing Coupling Manual Gear Detachment Engine Designation Roof Railing “But rather a simple equipment compared to so many posts ;-(” A question to the experienced participants (insider) of this forum, what should you consider as a newcomer? Trift it to the XC90 D5 with trailer clutch an additional oil cooler is available? What does this have on it with the unlocking of the stand heater? For tips/trippings is requested so that I don’t let myself be quite so acre Blamiere or over the table tomorrow.

  • Oil Propagation Update Costs

Hello, it has already been written a lot about the oil increase of the V70 D5. Also that there is an update which should fix the problem. Now I would be interested in how much this update costs. I have to say that the vehicle was not the last years with Volvo and there is no longer the former Volvo dealer. So the whole thing would have to be carried out with another dealer who does not know this vehicle yet. If not everything deceives me there was a callback action, this also concerned the vehicles BJ2006? I had yesterday the problem that the rain ratio on the highway has not stopped about 300km. Even after a short shutdown of the engine the problem was not solved. Only after a parking and a 2 hour break everything worked normal again. The consumption was increased by about 1.5litres, therefore I expect a rain ratio of the DPF. The oil level is already just above max.

  • Fill the hydropump with oil??

Hello everyone, In my Volvo V70 D5 185 hp currently 269,000 km, I think the hydro-punch starts to clap and ticker. In the cold state one hears in the first few seconds a dull noise, which I could not yet assign to it. I was at the workshop, and the master told me that it could probably be the hydros. But now I had asked with several, and a workshop told me that one only had to fill the hydro-push with oil, someone knows about it more? Because the other workshops would exchange them immediately and not fill them again. Is this a problem with the hydro-pushs in general, because I have already read some threads? But 269,000 km is not so much, there are other cars that run considerably longer with their hydro-pushes. I would be grateful about your help, because this week is supposed to be in the workshop, and I don’t want to throw out money unnecessarily.

  • Four years in the XC60 T8 – my conclusion

So, after almost four years with my XC60 T8 + Polestar my Volvo time ends for the first time, I switch to another brand and will shortly drive a BEV. Like the last time I would like to write down my impressions for the XC60 over the 4 years in unsorted order. Context: My XC60 is MJ20, mineral white, R-design with 21″, air suspension, nappa leather seats and other stuff, BLP was 95k. MJ20 was still without a 180 kmh limit, before I had an XC90 Inscription D5 MJ17 Unfortunately, Volvo does not have a suitable follow-up car on offer for me, plus unexplainable shifts in price/quality, which have moved a possible leasing rate too much in the wrong direction. I will shortly drive (somehow through pressure of the fleet management of my AG) a Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS, also in white again… My first BEV ever and my first VAG vehicle since 15 years P.S. I still have a 4xuga mat for a rubber compartment and a rubber compartment (some rubber compartment as well as well as well as a rubber compartment).

  • Bye V50 T5

After three years, the leasing contract of my V50 T5 finally expires. And I have to admit that I am happy about it. Although I still like the look as before, otherwise I’m not very happy. Especially the chassis (according to my order a sports suspension) and the brakes were – let’s say – used to. The front wheel drive is also overwhelmed with the 220 hp and a true profile eater. Well, that goes on my cap, I should have ordered all-wheel drive. In addition, some technical defects caused annoyance. These affected, for example, the turbo hose, the starter (since I always have a small hammer with it), the CD player, the servo pump and as I said, time and again the brakes. The latter annoyed especially. In average all 15,000 kilometers the brakes began to rat and flutter, so that it was no fun to move the car even more quickly. Conclusion: That was my first and thus also my last Volvo. I am now getting back on a pass with an impressive key wheel of 300, standing.

  • Volvo V 50 D5 R Design – Navi ?

Hello everyone, I’ve been a Volvo V40 T4 driver for 5 years and despite one or the other small breakdown, I’m still thrilled by Volvo. Two weeks ago I ordered a V50 D5 R design with almost complete equipment except leather, NAVI and a few small things. But for two days I’ve been thinking if I should order the Navi, but I’m not quite convinced because it looks a lot better with other manufacturers in the center console as with Volvo and my Mobile Navi is still doing it at the moment. With Volvo it doesn’t look so great (my opinion ) or are you different opinion? What do you have for experience, Loht the investment? I did the test drive at a V50 without Navi therefore I don’t know what it looks like in real.
