  • Volvo V70 II D5 (163PS) – Outside temperature in CCM Faulty

Moin, it’s a 2002 V70 II. The climate control unit (CCM, MCC – manual climate) gets the outside temperature from the right outside mirror (PDM) and goes over the DIM (Tacho) to the CEM. The tacho shows the correct (outside) temperature. However, the CCM says that the outside temperature is -40°C. (Fig. 1) Why? For me this doesn’t make sense. Vida, oscilloscope, etc would have no idea what I should measure. In the fault memory of the CCM there is nothing. Except “check the switch, control unit of the air conditioning system (CCM)”; I did and works. The measuring range goes from -10°C to 80°C, how can the CCM show -40°C? (Fig. 2) I don’t know if it belongs to it, but the controller regulates the blower by itself (Fig. 3) Is not so much and not always. But if you touch the blower control and pull/press it already changes, however, it also regulates itself from Potling contact.

  • Volvo D5 crankcase pressure

Hello, I’ve had a problem after the pressure in the crankcase or in the oil tank. Certainly already 1mio here treated. I could only find nothing suitable/satisfactory. Problem child: Volvo XC90 d5 AWD automatic from 2004 (model 2005), with approx. 300tkm on the clock. Situation: Although I have the crankshaftsimmering – timing belt on the side – already waved twice, the engine “oils” there repeatedly. Have both times a Coterco Simmering (35x47x7), used / installed as a replacement. Crankshaft does not seem to have run in (not visible or feelable). Have done the “ship diesel test” several times. Result of the glove blows up. Blows less when one, in the test, pulls the oil pipe rod. If the lid of the oil filler is removed, one hears very clearly the tuckering of the “ship diesel”, in addition bright smoke rises from the fill-in. Be in the last year, the “Einfügdrägt, vom Ölsträg.

  • XC60 with level regulation

Hello, I would like to order the XC60 with AHK and level control to transport on the AHK 4 bikes. My question: Does anyone have experience with level control in the unladen vehicle. I want to be sure that the ’empty’ XC60 by the Niveu technology on the rear axle is not harder than without level control.

  • Consumption indicator in BC

Have a stupid question: How is the consumption calculated in the BC? Does it take the total driving power, the last xy… kilometers or how does the consumption come about? We have never “resetted” the BC since purchase greeting Sven

  • Secretly refilled DIESEL?

Hello fans, sometimes a pleasant topic: During my last stay in Sweden I filled up my XC60 Drive 2.4. The BC showed the rest of the route 780 km. After approx. 100 km driving distance with 80-110 km/h with cruise control, the BC display wandered to this astronomical value. Unfortunately I was awakened from my dreams after the “show” in Germany and brought back to the hard ground of the facts with a normal consumption. Greetings Paulchen

  • Volvo, The Neverending Story

After we had had very good experience with Volvo (XC90), we bought an XC60 for a workshop bike. Here are the key data: XC60 – D3 – 120kw – Diesel – EZ 22.07.2010and then it started When you give gas, it takes time and again for a felt eternity until he starts. At intersections where you have no lead, the life is dangerous. When you put in the reverse gear the vehicle simply goes off. The warning lamp for the soot particle filter goes again and again and the vehicle goes into its emergency running program. The above mentioned problems were there from the beginning! At approx. 28,000km the engine warning lamp went on, the vehicle went out immediately and the ADAC fetched. The vehicle was dragged to the next Volvo dealer. Diagnosis: Cylinder head seal defective. One wanted to renew the seal first, then seal and head, finally the whole engine was still switched off again! Result: Warning lamp for the soot particle filter is always back to the new one!

  • Roll-off noise at the XC60 ? loud or quiet?

Hello everyone, recently I’m in a Ford Kuga. a 2.0 l gasoline. What scared me is the extremely loud rolling noise of the car. Now my question: Is the XC 60 a quiet car with regard to the rolling noise? Can it be used as a field service car with about 200 – 300 kilometers a day? I’m interested in a diesel engine. Many thanks in advance Jerry

  • Does 20 inches make sense in winter?

Hello! My XC60 R-Design should actually arrive next week, therefore a question about the possible winter rims. Does any of you have 20 inch winter tires on it? I don’t know if I should order a second set IXION II for the winter. Then I can forget the snow chains, though? I’m afraid if I take the Pan 18 inch rim recommended by the dealer, I will be unhappy with the look (20 inch summer vs 18 inch winter). What do you think about 20 inch in winter? Thank you for your advice.

  • Transponder windshield Telepeage

Hello, maybe someone has experiences here. Since I am always on the road in France, I plan to get myself a telepeage transponder. Maybe someone already has such a one in use and can tell me his experiences for mounting the transponder. I have a V70 OceanRace model year 13. In the manual page 108 … field in which no IR film is applied A 47mm B 87mm. Both in the picture with dimension arrows from above. Probably there is a complete strip of 47mm to 87mm from the upper edge of the disc without coating? Would not like to destroy the merits of the German/French reconciliation in the last decades by blocking the passage track as a foreigner because the thing does not work cleverly ;-). Unfortunately, my French is too bad to ask this question in a French forum. Many greetings, Karsten
