  • Does anyone now have the final solution for the non-opening tailgate on the V50?

    Hello, there is already a parr thread, but nobody has a final solution. With my V50 you can’t open it to the tailgate from time to time. What was initially tolerable is annoying me now, because there is no regularity, except that the moments in which it can no longer be opened become more frequent. Curiously, it happens that I sometimes come a few hours later and it goes up again, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I drive a round and it goes again, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I pull harder at the flap and it opens, sometimes nothing works. I have – after it first came up with the lock with WD 40 (regularly) and had the EInpressure it went well. However, last time the flap can’t be opened any more with every 5th attempt. How are your experiences ? – lock defective ? – electrical equipment defective ? – control device defective ? – sensor at the handle was defective ? Could you find the error by means of reading out and remove doubtless? Entries is not remedied by the dealer?

  • Emergency run at the fuel reserve

    Hello Volvo forum, a workmate has been a happy V50 1.6D driver for about 1/2 year. Now he has a corissant problem and an incredible statement of his car salesman.   • Loud sounds from the engine compartment (probably)

    I drive a V40 1.8 122hp year 2001. For 2 days there is a strange loud noise coming out of my engine room that sounds like a mixture of rubbing and clapping, but you can only hear it very strongly in the interior and there it sounds partly as if the exhaust is leaking, but this is dense and firmly mounted. Usually the noise occurs when I walk away from the gas while driving (sounds Sonor and Dump as if a sports air filter or exhaust were installed) and if I give gas only briefly at 2000 revolutions (but then strong and clapping/beating). In the idle and in the stand there is nothing to be heard, except the noise that the camshaft adjustment is attributed (krr 1sec krrr 1sec krrr). At the friendly side one could not really help me any further, since this noise has never come under him. He typed either on NW adjustment or drive shafts. I am grateful for any help.

    Good evening dear Volvo municipality , After many good years my Volvo has the following problem when the engine is warm and I am standing at the traffic light, the engine jerks , while the speed varies between 500 and 700 revolutions . It lasts a few seconds then again well . When accelerating after the amp stop ruckeln at the first 20 meters , then everything ok . When driving on the expressway , this happens occasionally ruckeln . Was in the workshop , diagnostic device – no errors . Workshop has identified the Kat as an evildoer . This is too – thus exhaust jam and jerk . My question : can this be ? Does anyone have experience with this problem ? Would not like to install new Kat and keep the problem ? ? Best regards Miki 13

  • News from the transmission country

    Hello and Servus, As it became known in this Fred, the reverse movement of my (overhaul) automatic transmission had not been moved to the cooperation. Yesterday finally the call came from the workshop. It was a mistake of the mechatronics engineer, who, according to the boss, was supposed to have switched a cable in the (?) transmission. Whether I can believe this statement I will know tomorrow, because today I can unfortunately not manage to bring the moose home. Supposedly, however, he should now finally also bring power again. I only hope that this faux pas did not lead to a termination of the ECU. But, tomorrow I know more and I will report. Gruss Jan, who suffers enormously from elk migration!

  • Winter tyres to small rims ? – Vibrations S90

    Hello, I want to tell you something about my winter tires here and at the same time listen to your experiences. Have had an S90 R design since summer and have now my first season WR on it. These have been raised to 8×17 Rial M10. Pneu is a GoodYear Ultra Grip. Since the beginning of the switch to WR I have had a restlessness in the FW. Did not have my tyres balanced out at two dealers. It had not both the same result – it means that the second workshop had to correct the work of the first workshop. A slight imbalance always persists. Now the best thing: was with my and had to find out there today that my tyres were too small for my vehicle without air suspension and that technically it is now so conditional with the long wheelbase. Did you ever hear such a thing? KBA allows a rim and then despite balancing still a restlessness?

  • Water drops behind medium rear-view mirror – gasket panoramic roof?

    Hello, had you ever had a water break in behind the rear mirror (XC 90), water dripped from the camera box except for middle jalousie: car was parked and it rained slightly but continuously. Front window had changed a few times I presented it to the workshop immediately: was artificially rained etc.: Demonstration effect – water didn’t penetrate an… no idea… before the sky was expanded, we wanted to wait for the next water break in again… Seals etc. are unfortunately not covered in warranty extension… Did I then look at the panoramic roof a few days later and find out that a piece of seal is missing on the passenger’s side behind (see photo). Workshop confirmed that this doesn’t look normal… Have you ever seen this before, there has been an action? How shrinks the sealing rubber – bird’s food is not so clean…??     As already reported, I ordered Torra-20″(looking exact like the Volvo 20″,it looked hugely looking forward to it,extra Volvo lenses tracked down-then on Saturday the giant disappointment-the tires (275/40 20) stood out sideways-the car looked like a prollige monster car.On Monday at 8 am I went to the tyre dealer and had the winter tires 18″ again.On the same day I made an appointment for Wednesday at Heico, now Heico 20″ (264/45 20)-must say,just great. Add hormnically, super design, noble,not too bully, they just fit perfectly. What does that tell me-it was the first and certainly the last time that I bought aluminium rims apart from the v. manufacturers and/or professionals of the jew. car brand like Heico,AMG, schnitzer etc.

  • C 30 Buy DrivE or rather not

    A friendly hello to all Volvo drivers, I had no connection to Volvo at all. Through a company car (Focus 1.6 TDCI) I found pleasure in the small diesel and then stumbled over the TV advertisement of Volvo DrivE. I quickly got out that it is the same engine. Since I only need a “2 person car” a C 30 would be the right one. Unfortunately our dealer had only a 1.8l gasoline for a test drive. Did I like it well, is something else. The optics for the sake of space is not enough, but that’s enough for me. Now the question Focus 1.6TDCI, C30 1.6 DrivE or possibly wait for the 1.6 diesel in Golf 6???? Therefore I would like to ask you: Is the C 30 to be recommended? How about the workshop costs? And even more important, has someone already had experience with the DrivE 1.6Diesel? I fear that he is translated to fuel saving so long that he doesn’t make any fun anymore. Could it be that I am right there.
