Hello, my V70 chirps on the first approx. 15 km while accelerating. There is nothing to hear when giving gas in the stand, I accelerate out of the speed cellar with a little emphasis (no full throttle, engine is not yet warm), a chirping is clearly perceptible. If it were to occur in the stand, I would tap strongly on V-belts, also sounds like that. Since it only occurs under load, I rather tap on the turbo charge. It is definitely not a normal loader whistle, I know that very well, driving exclusively turbo engines for 10 years. Did someone have the noise and know what it is about? Have a nice evening.

Giant frustration after 4x Volvo: complete engine damage D5 after 60,000km – your assessment would be great
As an eternal Volvo driver, I never expected it: on the return journey from France vacation we stayed, now the Job diagnosis of the workshop: complete engine damage, replacement and installation about 14,000Euro !!!!!! We bought the D5 with first registration in 2013 and at that time about 30,000km a year ago from a Volvo dealer here in Berlin, had all inspections done, this huge damage now at 60,000km…The history of this defect is funny: the last inspection in February had resulted in zero errors. Because of start problems due to lack of battery charge (two years old) we were right before the holiday again at Volvo. A software update was made, everything was in order. In France then again start problems ( 3x start help!!!), at the end unnerved bought in The Hague a new battery. 300km later then the engine damage, belt torn from the light machine was probably the trigger. Now another Volvo workshop, to which the car was towed again, the battery is also completely empty. What should not be, I let it be fully charged in The Hague and let me see the battery stand with a similar inspection?

Sweden imports V70 III
Hey, I was advised to write here, because here some people drive a Sweden import.. ? Short situation outline: am currently looking for a V70 gasoline (mostly T4) with R-design package for our small family (1st child on the march). Shouldn’t cost more than 15t€ and if possible not have more than 100tkm away. Gladly with automatic. Since there is such a thing in Dtl. not or only very rarely (observed for about a year the market via Mobile), I have now opened up a contact of the cars imported from Sweden in the customer order. Has that already made someone I could squeeze out on the subject times? Am currently already looking at, but with the budget it is narrowly with the larger selection in Sweden… have still up to 3-4 months time, then what must happen then the child is there soon and my TÜV has expired (doubtably also not get a new report). Still a few general questions: Had first taken into consideration the 2.5T, but then because of the high maintenance costs (Spritmonitor allegedly with 13l with a few automatics) but also has rejected a T-time interval of every year?

Airbag control device defecates because battery was jammed?
Moin an alle! Zum Elch: v40 bj 2004 Gasoline 1,8. Zu meine Problem: My airbag light always starts once a year. For the TÜV I always had the error memory deleted and good. It was always on the plug from the passenger seat.. This time the workshop told me that there are three faults (also the plug) which can not be deleted any more. Nu said the mechanic, that the control unit is defective, that can lie on it that I had once disconnected the battery. What do you say, can it be? New device probably costs 1000€. That can not be anything, or what do you say? Be very happy about tips and experiences of you.

Cylinder failed?
I’m going to have a good time to talk to my friend. Since yesterday morning, I don’t just listen to the moose like a lawn mower, so he’s going to drive like that. He’s loud, he’s busy, he’s busy, and I don’t pull out. Then I’ve looked at the spark plugs as it is recommended here. So cover off and first shock, in the recesses there’s oil… Well, ZK plugs pulled out. On the left all iO, candle unscrewed -> Must certainly be new (totally oxidized) but still looks functional. At No. 2, then the in the middle: a) The candle plug doesn’t seem to pass the power to the candle, it looks hard after oxidations above the candle on the motor and the plug. (see pictures) b) The thing doesn’t want to go out… and by force I don’t want to go out there again, but it doesn’t want to change the workshop.

V70 D5 vs Mondeo TDCI 155PS
In search of a successor for my V70 D5 for satisfied 150 Tkm I have now also received a brochure about the MondeoTDCI with 155 hp and 400! NM max. With all the frills (leather, xenon) more than 12T€ cheaper. Away from all the image and prejudices: Does any of you have a change behind you and can report?

Color XC90
Hello people! We are currently conducting a lively discussion at home about our new XC90. An executive with (assigned) delivery date January ’05 was ordered. The point of dispute is the color: My wife wants Blacksaphir, I would opt for titanium gray. Everyone defends his point of view with bumps and stings ! Could someone ever compare both colors on the car ? Is the presentation on the Internet real ? Thank you !

Tank return at the fuel filter
Dear Forenmen, with my v40 (2004) a petrol line, on the small T-piece, that is located shortly after the fuel filter near the left rear axle, was dissolved. The petrol line seems to be forking there, whereby a line transports the fuel further towards the engine compartment and a second line leads back to the tank. This little connector was probably already repaired by the previous owner with hot glue and has now completely goodbye. Today I was with a very lively mechanic who in a 5-minute action connected the line, which runs from the fuel filter, directly with the line leading to the engine compartment. However, without connecting the return to the tank. He said that you can leave it that way. Then I called to a free Volvo workshop, which put the same solution to my heart. The car now seems to drive normally but in my amateurness this seems somewhat strange to me. What is the use of the return to the tank and what are the consequences if you use the car without this connection? Many thanks for good answers!

The TÜV and the S/V 40
Asterix inspired me on this topic. What was your last complaint with the TÜV? With information about the model and the year of construction. As I said before, my 2001 2.0T was last the cuffs with the steering gear. However, US “safety inspection”. One murmurs that they do not look so closely at here. I say this way, one pays attention to the really important things here. A rusted fender is not a topic. One could drive safely even without the one. As long as one can still secure the turn signaler. But this should not become the topic here. It is only about the TÜV in Germany.
