  • It makes me very sad!

    Hello! I don’t know if I can write something like that here at MotorTalk or not! It happened last Thursday in the early morning hours on a wide main road in Trnava / Slovak Republic. I was on my way to the workshop because my VOLVO had so noticeably rattled. The main road was blocked by police, rescue forces and fire department. Only after a few hours later I learned what was going on. A stick drunk young man (21 years old) ran over a red traffic light at a speed of 120 km/h in the city and a young woman who crossed the road at Green so that her body was torn into several parts. She was immediately dead. And it will happen again, like in other EU countries nothing against such motorists! That makes me sad! A person is worth nothing today, but the car much more! MFG Torsten

  • After an accident!

    Hello dear friends! Unfortunately, the holiday did not go well as it should and I also wanted it! Everything came differently as in life! I drove a V40, built in 2003, model year 2004, with 122 hp equivalent to 90 kw, 1.8 engine capacity, VOLVO Motor B4184S2 automatic gearbox AW/50-42. My wife wanted to go shopping what she did and I told her still. I packed the moose when you came back. That also had its reason! She came back to the weekend house (as big as a family house in the mountains) and grabbed despite my warning herself. Since she drove back to a big stone so that this stone granite, under the engine came to stand. The stone had lifted the elk, so the V40 so high that the front wheels had no proper fixed contact to the ground any more. The owner who was there at the time had given us help and so came out of the village help. One raised the VOLVO with hyulian car lifter and built the big parts of the cars among the trees. I had started to drink the big ones.

  • Contacts from the IPhone

    Hello together, I have been the owner of a V90 D4 since last November. I found something similar here, and tried the solution approaches, but without success. Remove mobile phone from the Sensus and reconnect, everything does not work. I own an IPhone XS, at the beginning when I had paired the phone, I can be mistaken because I did not check it, all contacts to the Sensus were transferred. At some point my son who starts with M disappeared from these contacts. My daughter who also starts with M was still present. I have caller pictures with my wife and my children. My wife starts with L, her picture was and is available. My daughter was only about half to see and my house, that I also have as a caller image is only to see 1/4. Meanwhile my daughter has also disappeared from the contacts and only a small part of the name stored with M has been present. Now it is even so that all contacts from the letter N have disappeared! I was already at the ?, who could not tell me a solution. Does anyone know this problem?

  • XC90 – Change from foreign manufacturer

    Dear forum members, it really seems to be a great satisfaction for the XC90 drivers. I would be interested in which car you have switched to the XC90 and you would do it again ?? After I have driven over many years of combinations of different manufacturers a new order is now available. My current 5 Series Touring is already far ahead in my personal satisfaction list and is no comparison to the Audis before. But with 2 children also a large combination comes to its limits and so I stand before the decision again the 5 Series or times an attempt with the, in my view the most beautiful SUV the XC90. If it is the Volvo then a B5 Diesel with R design. Have for you the seating position, space offer and the comfortable travel given the decisiveness for the Volvo and for that you perhaps sacrifice some driving fun or.. Take the 180km/h restriction in purchase? I think when changing from the BMW there will be a few dashes but these I would accept. The new B5 should be more quieter than its predecessor and with about 30,000km you have created the Spagat between the family car!

  • XC90 Start without key

    Recently the thought came to me, what if I should lose the car key and be further away from home. You can’t drive well from the holiday home and get a spare key. Well, I could open the car via VOC – no problem. But how would I start the car? Can you get this done through the SOS button in the Volvo or what would you have to do in such a case? Maybe someone had this problem before and can give me/us a hint for the future.

    Hello guys, I intend to buy a used XC90 D5 BJ04.16. What experience did you get with the D5 224 hp? Are there any with more than 200000 KM mileage? And above all workshop stays? Many thanks in advance!

  • XC90 Hybrid company car leasing 0.5 or 1 %?

    Hello all, I ordered a Volvo XC 90 T8 hybrid in the company car leasing. Now came an order confirmation in which it was stated that due to the selected special equipment a pure electric range of only 37 km is indicated. Likewise also a higher pollutant emission of 58 g/kilometre. Thus no guarantee can be taken over by 0.5 % monetary advantage to tax. Can it be now that I have to tax 1 %? Since the legal requirements of at least 40 km purely electric are not met! Greetings Alex

  • My Volvo 850 TDI licks oil – is the repair still worth it?

    Hello, I bought a 850 TDI. My belly wanted to do that.. Now this one licks (many) oil. Today I had an engine wash done. After 4 kilometers I parked the vehicle – and it dripped on the stones. The oil tank was again watered. Just now a buddy, who is a truck mechanic, was there. He was able to turn the screws of the oil tank by hand. This he first tightened. However, he could not reach three. I now had great hope that this was the oil problem. But it was not. I wiped everything away. After a short run in the stand crawled over the oil tank new oil. I put a picture on you, on this one you see the rind. The Volvo cost 1000 €. From the overall condition I would give him a four. Furthermore, the drive shaft and the wheel bearing on the right again must be made known. That he squirrels I push on the torn turbo hose. New tires also needs to be in front. Does a repair cost? Probably the tooth strap down and there would make the little bit of it.

  • Lassed rear lamps

    Moin, also a blind fox like me, is at some point pointed out that the rear lights don’t quite correspond to the ideas of law and order. What I didn’t notice at first, but thanks to the high-precision image analysis capabilities of block section (at least on CSI:Miami level!) turned out: The lower bright glasses were lashed red and then – on request by the previous owner – painted with diving varnish. Thus it was possible to paint horizontal stripes over these white glasses. You have to imagine this now like a zebra strip: 0.5mm painted stripes, 0.5mm unpainted stripes and then again a painted strip, then again… etc. (looks almost like cut-out foil in the ventilation grill pattern). So I am looking for ways to paint the lights again. Bonus points for the suggestions that don’t kill me right away if I miss the components or don’t put myself in a dangerous file at the BND because a bomb construction is suspected. And now if I have to be told that I have to buy new tail lights, I just have to look at them.

  • 850 Wanted or “Do I look or don’t I look?”

    Moin, I’m rolling thoughts right now, maybe someone might be able to help me. Current status, I drive the 850 T5 and like to drive it. 😛 … Männe drives a Peugot 206 with a gas system, as a car for the ways to work etc. But he would also much rather drive the Volvo. Let’s say again and again, who is allowed to drive the Volvo. Now we were at the WE with Markus, thank you again at this place, our elk drives again really great 🙂 *huepjoy*… there came the conversation on whether we do not want to exchange the Peugot for a second 850. Männe immediately got the light in the eyes and grumbles now. Of course, this would be complete nonsense. We were originally extra drawn into the city so that we don’t need two cars and now I/we think if we put two so big cars in front of the door. In doing so we have enough other things that could carry a bit of money. Taxes and insurance would not be much more expensive, but we would have made a little bit of a difference.
