The question is whether the Volvo customers will also participate in this paradigm change. Just as a small example: For pure interest I once configured a V50, which shows certain things (which I have in the C70) When I then looked at the final price of just under EUR 40k, I thought it had to be a mistake. But it wasn’t. At the same time I looked at Skoda (a friend of my daughter chose a Skoda Octavia Kombi RS as a business car. A sample of the seats was very convincing). I know from Skoda that the brand within the VW Group has a problem. They are too good, i.e. in the internal ranking is the order Audi Skoda VW Seat (and VW does not see this in the same way). i.e. better processing quality than the vehicles from Wolfsburg (I can also imagine after some contacts with colleagues from MladΓ‘ Boleslav). I then also configured an Octavia Kombi RS. It is amazing that there is hardly any additional options required, since the RS has almost a complete standard equipment. Even more amazing is that I came to a final price of almost EUR 33k when configuring the RS. i.e. the Skoda is almost EUR 7k cheaper than the comparable V50 . Well, the Skoda does not have the “coolness factor” of the Volvo and may seem rather bend and reasonable. But for me at least the image claim (it is not the technical superiority of the Volvo) justifies no price difference in this order of magnitude. LiMa eats V-belts
Hello together, just – at least I think that- my alternator said goodbye and nicely eat the poly-belt the same way. A new poly-belt should not be a problem, but what does it look like with the generator? Does it necessarily have to be new? It can be turned perfectly, but somehow the belt disc from the generator “walked away”, I think that also destroyed the belt. Now I have read something about generators with “freewheel” and that you can probably repair it seperately? Only I can’t really imagine something under freewheel with a generator… I once took two pictures so you know what I mean with wandering away. V70 as Lifesaver
Hello dear forum community, unfortunately my beloved Volvo is brutally different on Friday evening. A big truck missed me and my friend at the end of the traffic jam. I am feeling quite well, except for bruises etc., my girlfriend is still in the clinic. But she is also on the way to improvement. A smaller lighter or less sophisticated car, or even less decency on our part, would have meant our safe death. “Klonk” noise front axle…
Hello, for a few days I have had a “clonk” noise at the VA. It occurs, for example, when driving over bad roads, but not in the case of ground waves, also not in the case of kerbs up or downrolls. You could also put the noise a little as if the tire treads were loosening (which is not the case π ), so it is so “schloapp”. It is independent of speed and direction of direction. My shock absorbers came in 08/2011 at approx. 175000, the spring leg bearings and spring plates at the top in 09/2010 at approx. 170000. Momentary km-stand is 280000. Should I look for the coupling rods? Or rather the “dom bearing”? How do you estimate this distance (see pictures), is this clearly too much? If I spring the car by pressing down, the upper “plate” moves in relation to the lower one already. With the eye it is almost impossible to see, but if you put your finger in the gap, you can feel it for many thanks.

Climate compressor – wave stops
Meal, Volvo community, for a few days I’ve been hearing cracking noises from the engine room. I just got to identify the origin. It seems that the air conditioning system itself works without any problems and makes everything cold. The one at ATU, where I drove by fast at first, said that the clacking is NOT normal. The person on the phone from the workshop, where it was exchanged at that time, said that short standing of the wave was normal. The compressor should hold longer, but I’m sure I’d like to see it from the horse, but I’ll be able to say something about it.

Automatic sports switch on the S40 I 1.8, what happens anyway?
Hello Volvonauten! after more than 12 years of gentle handling of the well running S40 phase one I sometimes use the sports button. Mer Kraft is provided, the acceleration is better, as far as clear. Does this change anything about the driving characteristics? The operating instructions are not quite clear, is the suspension set differently, or is there simply more Ps with activated sports circuit?

Clear varnish experts here?
Is someone working here in a car paint shop by chance? I have clear varnish (metallic paint) on the roof and on the front bumper and are looking for a solution to seal the still relatively small places permanently……Clear varnish pen from Volvo and BMW-Clear varnish from a spray can have held exactly half a year And as soon as the places are free again, rain/frost and dirt ensure that the places slowly become larger again.
