Hello dear Volvianer, since yesterday I am in possession of a 1998 S40 2.0T. I now have some questions/problems: 1. Tempomat does not work. So not at all. After the fuse we have already looked, which looks good. 2. The radio. I have upgraded the original SC-802 and my JVC radio installed. However, it does not save the settings. I have tried various wirings already, but with the original wiring the radio does not work at all. Now we have bought a double DIN from Kenwood and there it works just as little with the storage. Can this possibly be on the adapter from the original cable tree to ISO? 3. Brumbing and roaring in the interior. At speed <1600 and >3000 it is very noisy in the car. I think it comes from the exhaust system. Do you have perhaps another idea? On Tuesday I have an appointment in a workshop. The master at that time has learned himself from Volvo and perhaps knows some tricks and tricks. But I wanted to get the opinion of the old Volvo driver.

“Flatting” sound while taking gas
Hello, once again my S40, 1.8 116hp 1996, with an interesting noise: when taking gas and also in the stationary gas one hears an even fluttering noise, which sounds like this: https://soundcorset.com/r/7r2v6CkUcc Apart from a very low stand-up gas (about 500 revolutions about 550-600) nothing else strikes me. Power is normal, gas acceptance and consumption too. Can one say from the noise whether this comes rather from engine range (sucking in?) or exhaust system? Exhaust system from Kat (including Kat) was renewed 3 months ago, but since then have had isolated ignition oscillations due to defective ignition cables (really very isolated, I think/hope they did nothing to the cat :P). 2.0er 100kw with ethanol-mixture
moin, did any of you experiment with ethanol? I would be interested in how much I can contribute without changing the motor/controller. to take the wind out of the sails from the opponent: of course, all this is at your own risk and everyone must know what he is doing. therefore, please do not have any basic discussions and unresolved assumptions. nor about the fact that in 3rd world countries people have to starve because fuel is being grown! I am interested in it technically and I would only mix ethanol, which remains as a waste “other” for local farmers.

The problem could be solved insofar as the noises are gone. However, since I always have the impression that the flap makes some strange noises when closing, I have looked at the tail a bit more closely. I noticed strongly different gap measurements sideways between the rear window and rearlight: on the right there is virtually no air and on the left there is about 6 mm. I attach photos. I ask myself whether this has its correctness or can cause something like that. Does this look like this to you? Are Volvo such gap measurements common? Should you call it or am I too petty? I would be happy about your opinions, experiences and assessments!

V90 T8 in caravan and trailer operation
Hello, I would like to move our caravan (2100kg) with our V90 T8 in the future and wanted to ask if someone with the V90 T8 has already gained experience as a towing vehicle. In particular, I would like to know the consumption and the driving mode. (I know the experience with the XC90 T8 from the forum) Due to the weight of the WW and the front wheel drive I think about driving on rural roads and in the city exclusively in AWD. XC90 T8 – Hybrid battery does not charge.
Hello together, my fat guy (13 months, 20 tkm, T8) has recently stopped charging. When plugging into the charging station or the cricket it clicks briefly, but the charging process no longer starts. In the APP stands “battery is charged”. EIn pressing “start charging” does not bring an error message and also no success. No error is shown. Charging station works. This has been tested with another car. Does anyone have an idea? I got an appointment with the friendly one on August 7. VG

Hello, since my friend has now made me a dash through the bill with the color choice “red is much more expensive in leasing because the used ones can be sold so badly” (I also know from ALD…) I have now arrived with my color choice again with my first desired color Cosmic White. Now I wonder if one of you is driving an XC 60 in Cosmic White with bright interiors and would have a picture of it at hand. V70 T6 Automatic switching points
Hello, in my V70 T6 2008 I find it very unpleasant that the 2nd gear of the automatic is switched only at 2000 to 2500 revolutions. Rather 2500 – so that the engine rotates significantly higher than it would have to. It is really about comfortable swimming there from traffic light to traffic light. I try to move the automatic to switch by limping the gas foot, which also works – but also not so really. Even if I switch manually, I have the impression that it does not switch earlier. Of the characterisik the engine runs aof with few tours wonderful and has at all times enough power from stand-up gas – therefore the unnecessary high turning on the one hand acoustically is not nice – it also costs Sprit. Question therefore – does someone know the behavior – is it normal – what the other T6 drivers say? Ggfs. also the new 2012 – is there so? Or does a friend have a software that optimizes the still?
