  • V50 suddenly doesn’t start anymore

Hello together, Since a good year, I am proud V50 2,4l owner. Actually also totally happy with the car. Yesterday I turned my car off at home and wanted to start again after 2 hours approx. Zack car no longer starts. Starter battery is full and has no big voltage drop. Key battery is also quite fresh. I ignition in position 2 is normal the ignition, without warning messages or other unusual events, ignition in position 3 it remains with it. I ignition quite normal, radio and inside light remain however also on ( in position 3 switches off normal everything ). Starter I checked, which is i.o. Nothing is stored in the error memory. Is there any problems with the ignition lock or with the immobilizer with the V50? I’m slowly a bit helpless… if you still have other ideas then gladly out with it.

  • Summer tyres/wheels Volvo V40 T3 R-Design MJ 2018

Hello together, with me this year new summer tyres are due. Since I see my car in winter with 205/55 R16 tyres as much more comfortable than with the summer tyres with 225/45 R17, I am now faced with the decision to buy new 16 inch complete wheels or simply to have new tyres put on the 17 inch rims. In front of me: I know that the V40 has a rather tight suspension. In addition, the effects of tyre dimensions on the driving behaviour are far and wide clear to me. But: Is it possible to achieve a more comfortable driving behaviour (with the same dimensions) of the vehicle with tyres of other manufacturers (currently: ContiSportContact 5 225/45 R17 91W? If yes, which are recommended here?

  • Automatic gearing

Hello, I think I have a problem with my Volvo V40 D4 with automatic transmission. First of all the data about the car, it is a Volvo V40 D4 Bj 2012 with automatic transmission and about 120,000km on the clock. Now in the colder season I notice that the speed in relation to the driven speed does not fit and is increased. The transmission switches even in a moderate and gentle way to tap the gas very late. So I switched to the manual switching mode and it is noticeable that when giving gas the speed up quickly pulls up but the speed only very slowly, it feels like the clutch slips. If I then go off the gas the speed drops strongly despite manually selected gear. I hope you can imagine something about what I mean. Also, I find the transmission switch very taut and on no case of dynamic or fast. Now the question is what the problem is and if a transmission flushing would solve it would be possible. On demand with my Volvo dealer everything is normal and Volvo says that the gear oil lasts a lifetime …. did not tell me about it?

  • Beautiful shearing: Navi black

Good morning together! Maybe someone can give me a tip. The Navi in my V50 will open normally after switching on and while opening up you will see the normal display. Once it has reached the final position, the screen will turn black. When folding you will see the display again. I suspect a cable break. Before I build everything apart now, I would like to know if there is someone here who has had a similar problem before. If yes, how was the problem solved? In another trend I found “chrishn” who wrote from a cable break in a flatband cable, unfortunately he does not log in to my PN. Can someone help you? Many greetings and nice Christmas Max

  • Problem with V70 D5 2007 S

Hey you friends of the “motor talk”! What a cool forum, so really… Would like to introduce me and my elk briefly Bin der Max and drive a used V70 D5 Edition Sport with almost 200 Tkm for 4 days now, so used First rides have been successfully finished, the engine is really powerful… He has btw automatic. Is verifiably very well maintained, we have it from the dealer, everything great! I noticed only 1 thing, what already speaks for the car For slow drives, max. 10 Km/h knarzt it quiet in the front, but is to be heard. Would now on the permanent topic drive (stabis or cross-over handlebars? :O) type it, or should it only be oiled again? Otherwise I have been a busy employee for a long time and have now registered myself ^^ Was always very entertaining or insightful Since I have been speculating for a V70, I also know the thing of the AUX-Themas – from 48/06, Grom, iMiv or even was equipped, but should not tell me about it?

  • Oil loss somewhere under the engine

Orrrrrrrrrr! I get the moths! After the dampers have obviously made the back slippery, but I don’t see it any more tragically this morning, I also have to realize that since the oil change in May I have lost about 1 1/2 liters of oil. Better still: probably in the last four to five weeks, and indeed since the exchange of the LiMa and the climate compressor. After that somehow the turbo hose has slipped off. That has been fixed again, then I have found the first time an oil-wet underfloor. Then the air intake hose has been changed from the filter to the turbo, which at least has done the whistling of the turbo. Now the box has been standing around for ten days and now everything is dripped down! Nothing that explains 1 1/2 liters (not even at all) but that it has to drip somewhere on the car. From the front and above everything seems to be in order in the engine room again, it is dry and clean. But the underfloor is neatly smeared on the driver side and there are hanging drops to see. After home, what I can certainly get into the workshop, but now 1200 km.

  • Iphone for music and phone?

I am considering how to go further with mobile phones in the future. I need an answer from V60 owners who have an iphone. Is it possible to use the iphone as a telephone and at the same time as a music player. At the moment I have connected an ipod as a music player via cable and connected an HTC via Blootooth as a telephone. This works very well. But how does it look when the iphone is used as a telephone and as a music player at the same time? Is this possible, or does it have to be decided that Iphone is used as a telephone or as a music player? That when the music player calls on the phone, it is supposed or similar to me. Can someone help me further? Thank you very much.

  • Problems with Volvo On Call MY2012

Hello, with my 4 weeks young XC60 MY2012 (km: 1200) it is no longer possible for me to check the vehicle status via iPhone app and – what is actually the worst – to program the heater. I have already used the functionality at least 10x successfully. Without problems. At the moment, with Volvo On Call none of the comfort functions goes. What is the registration at the APP and the on-call function out of the car. However, the friendly Volvo Supporter cannot help me any more. Does anyone have the same problems here at the moment? I hope it’s due to the Volvo On Call Services and not to my vehicle. With 2 different iPhones (3Gs + 4S) it doesn’t work any more. I have the Volvo App available in 2 different versions. Both fail. With a 4 weeks young new car this now dampens the still existing optimism and belief in the increased quality of Volvo products since 2004.

  • There ́s a new XC70 in town…

It’s actually there! I didn’t believe it all worked out, but it did. Today the mail came, and of course I’ve already seen it… 😉 It’s still neatly packed, but also so beautiful! :-))) Here is the usual list of the ordered and actually delivered configuration (hopefully I can still get that together ;-)): XC70 D3 AWD Summum in black (the real), leather Inscription beige, real wood modern, adaptive steering, GT, laminated glass and seat grill for all. Pictures come as soon as I have picked up the car… 😉 On the place there were even 2 more XC70 (1 x Summum, 1 x Momentum), which should probably also be delivered at short notice. If someone is in doubt, if he should take summum or momentum and then take the summum, also because the rims look supposedly more chic (so ́s the case with me): Does it not because of the rims. The new 17″ look really good, even something nobler than the Zephyrus in 18″.
