  • Nice, but good too?

Hello dear Volvo community!, I think the cars of Volvo are beautiful, but I know a lot of people who have a lot of technical problems with their S40/V50, many of them are about to sell the car. Is it that way with you, or not, because I can’t be trusted that such expensive cars have such a shit to offer:? lG Matthias

  • volvo does not start

Hi. Today I had the problem that my car did not want to start. Time was at 0 o’clock when I had tried to start it had constantly ticked and the light up in the ceiling went on and off. As long as I had stopped turning the key. After starting aid it went again. What could this be about? Is the battery maybe still ok and the spark plugs could be broken or something else? In July it came in as used. Was measured and was considered fully zugeo Is not normal the howling sound when the battery is empty and nothing is happening?

  • Another question: retrofit premium sound?

Hello! Does someone (i.e.: does someone have access to Volvo’s spare parts price lists) know what it would cost to assemble and retrofit the premium sound system from spare parts? I only know the high performance sound system, I liked it, but I didn’t like it, there would still be air up there. As written elsewhere, there is a very very cheap special model in Holland via EU import, which has only limited options. Or just the amps and the tax revenues. it? Thank you Alexander

  • Airbag/SRS indicator light burns, error cannot be read

Hello. I have the following problem on my V70 year 09/98. In September 2012 I bought the V70, after a few weeks the SRS light started to burn permanently. On suspicion another used ECU was installed by the seller (also from a 98 – allegedly). After that I should drive to Volvo to delete the fault memory or to have it read out. The car master there did not come in with his reading device, however, each time the device hung up. Now to the actual n Problem: In July TÜV is available and I got the advice (from the then seller, who also performs all repairs for small money on my car) to take out the bulb. Does jmd. have an idea what causes the error message or what reason it might have, why the Volvo dealer can not read the error memory? despite a malfunction trigger the airbags in the event of an accident, or are they deactivated by the malfunction in the system? Where exactly is the control? A repair at Volvo is not possible due to the high costs. So, now I hope for adequate answers 🙂

  • 850 and V/S70 in old age

Hello together, one or the other may have already noticed it – I am currently “caste” a new second vehicle. I would like to hear your opinion about the 850s and the V/S70. What is the corrosion prevention of the models – are they still good even now in the older age? What about the technology, which engines are still basically faithful souls even at running speeds > 200,000 km and which motors should be avoided? Are there similar things to consider, for example, in the case of gears e.g. with the S80I T6? How durable are the four-wheel drives – or should you rather stay with the front-wheeler? LG Kester

What I am looking for is almost like a wellness temple… 🙂 – personal address – in case of defects sc hnelle and competent help – fair invoices (I don’t want to have the impression that I’m looking at repairs) – car rental (I absolutely need) Greetings & thank you in advance!

  • Seats in V70

Hello together, I am deposed…. Had yesterday a test drive with a V 70 III – summum – D5 automatic. In short a great, beautiful car. Design, quality, engine / gearbox everything in the green area! But these seats First I had the feeling I seats on the seat and not in the seat (as I am used to it from my multiconture seats in Daimler) – no side support at all – the effect is reinforced by the beautiful but slippery leather. Also, I have no e The upper end of the door lining is too high to be able to lay the arm there comfortably… Never thought that the decision-making criterium could become the seats for me – in the A6 I do not sit in the middle of the steering wheel (the steering wheel is slightly shifted to the left…) – E-Class seats are compared to the comfort the 5s are also only 2nd choice and in the back you sit in the 5s anyway incredibly good and best compared to the mentioned candidates… Well – if you do not have insider knowledge – according to the motto – soon come also with Volvo optional comfort seats – then unfortunately it will be no moose – had made me very much friends with the thought…. Best regards from Niederrhein Dirk

  • Load space roller

Help…. I made the ultimate mistake and cut in the indicated grip hole (so that you can pull the roller back – wrong thought). New price of the complete box is according to friendly at 300 euros. Was already with the saddler, but he has waved, because he can not expand the roller and probably does not hold a partial welding. Who has a advice ready?

  • Driving in the snow

Hi, how is this when riding uphill on snow-covered road, now assuming AWD? For example, a steep turnaround where you can’t take a lot of momentum with you. Just drive up to comfort and, if possible, without rushing? Does the ESP not regulate the performance back when the wheels start to slide occasionally? And what does the off-road mode do with the ESP? I couldn’t see that in the manual if the ESP allows more slipping. lpen-elch handlebars to hear if our Volvos are really so easy to drive through the snow. LG, Yadda

  • New steering in XC60 MY 2011?

Dear community, for the new year 2011 of the XC 60 almost everything has been said, only not yet of everyone. In the XC 60 the NSW fall away in all equipment. That’s for sure (until now). The reason is called the new electrohydraulic steering, which needs more space. My question: Does anyone know what this steering does differently/better can do, that you sacrifice an important design element (NSW) for it? Or is it “just” due to the latest development in the “building kit” (should it be from the S60 s I have not found anything about it in the forum so far (yes, I used the search function!). I am curious, because some “intimate” connoisseurs and insiders are on the way in the forum. ld d-speed
