• ESP or tires, looked bad compared

    What an experience! This week I was at an ADAC driving safety training. And I come back completely terrified about my XC 70 model year 2014, hand circuit. I was on the test site with colleagues. Everyone in his car. From the X1 via Smart, Peugeot 508, Beetle, Skoda Yeti TV, Mazda, A class everything was there. The vehicles were all between four months and four years old. In principle I was very far behind with all tests. of course, I let a colleague drive to rule out that it is up to me. Same result. Also the ADAC man was very surprised. He controlled my tyres, the profile was ok. However, he noticed that my winter tyres from Pirelli (original of Volvo) are two years older than the vehicle itself. (They were probably already a bit around Volvo.) Without ESP, the vehicle went even further. This was fun, but I don’t feel so safe in my safe car anymore. Has anyone had similar experiences? Has someone with another tire been in a driving safety training? Greetings AussiUTE

  • XC70 D4 (163ps) AWD – Diesel – Regeneration

    Dear Volvo drivers We have been driving an XC70 D4 AWD for a year now. Since it is my first modern diesel I have a small question for you: when does the partkeil filter regenerate? The car is EZ Nov 2014, was then a demonstration car and went to us at the beginning of March 2015 with almost 6000km. Now the car has about 20,000km on the speedometer. Up to now, the particle filter has never regenerated. Are these so long intervals or has something been done with the service? I have to worry about something. ? Otherwise the car is a lot of fun. Exception is the soft chassis, our V50 is much harder which usually speaks for the XC70. But as soon as it goes on holiday – with child and cone – so roof box and possibly wheels on the back, then the car literally flips over each shaft and tilts through the Kurevn. Like a Citroen DS. Since it is the standard comfort suspension, you can probably do nothing. Maybe it helps something to change from the 16 inch rims to 18? h at least let the car get a little harder – although the chassis remains (too) comfortable-oriented of course… sometimes we as a driver on curvy mountain roads slightly bad. I don’t know that from the V50 or the S40 (predecessor of the XC70) at all. Achcja, the same roof box and bike carrier on the V50 force it also relatively into the knees but the V50 never became a “hollywood swing” 🙂 Good driving, love greetings to the elk and thank you for tips on the particle filter in the vo Out Peter

  • One year T5

    One year is over, the first inspection is done. Cost a good 190 euros. Running performance slightly over 10,000 km. An unscheduled pit stop due to a bent hose of the wiper system. Sound problem (tone came only after about 60 sec) was fixed during the inspection by an update. Does not occur any more. Recently the message: Volvo On Call maintenance was required. But disappeared again. Engine and gearbox of the finest. Everything very quiet. Performance satisfied if you want it and want it from time to time ic h. The automatic switches very quietly, you hardly notice it. Consumption strongly dependent on the driving mode. With normal stress approx. 8 – 9l. It can also be done under it, but also loosely over it. ACC and AHB never again without. One of the best inventions. Nice how reliable it works. BLIS and CTA also do not want to miss, has saved me often already, especially in narrow gaps. Seat and steering wheel heating very effective, if the heater is not used sometimes. Not because the moose is in the garage. Otherwise, the floor heating reliably performs its service. Front disc heating was unfortunately not often used. The electric tailgate a nice toy, but nice. PDC in front and back in connection with the rear camera indispensable. The adjustable steering is on medium and has never been adjusted. Luckily, was not so expensive. Audio system: Premium sound with subwoofer sounds awesome. DAB is also very good, if the reception d a is. Touringfahrwek still quite tight in connection with the 18 customs officers. In winter a bit more pleasant. Voice control, if you master it, very good. Navigation once bucked. Road to new, happened on the Baltic Sea. There was a little unrest. Traffic sign detection actually good, even electronic boards no problem. Only the thing with the place signs really should be improved. Oh yes, start stop is almost always switched off. On off, on just in the city n I learned to drive in the lane again through the lane support. Seats excellent, just typical Volvo. Composite glass already has a soundproofing effect. Internet connection via the additionally inserted Sim with the browser from Volvo very slow, so only in case of an emergency. The black varnish is very care-free, but always an eye-catcher. The Keyless go, simply comfortable, never without. Digital instrumentation, you get used to it quickly. I would never have thought to give up the “hands mode”. The seller should keep right – performance mode. So enough of the swarming. We are completely satisfied and would do it again. Every ride a pleasure. But now he stays for 14 days – vacation. I also know what the first thing will be when we come back… But with the help of the app you can see if he is waiting nicely in the garage.

  • Damping the 850 moose

    Moin Moin I have made the decision to (earn money after a weekend) ERSTMAL to dam the rear doors with aluminium butyl and insulating flow. I have attached 16,5cm to the rear instead of 13cm speakers, which make the door neatly scrape ^^ I ordered a 4m x 0,5m roll, which is supposed to give 2m2. I will dam the rear doors, since I have ordered in the front now also the adapters for 13 loudspeakers (have not been inside, only the dazzling ^^). d the 10s don’t put the dashboard in great motion now. Furthermore, I will be on the inside, should I have replaced the damper lock with alubutyl, insulating flow. Now I have noticed after repeated reading in the WWW that I ordered EVT. too little. rich 2m2 insulation material for 2 back doors of the 850ers? Mfg, Eric R.

  • Question about engines in the V70I

    I could probably get a good replacement for my beloved 8er TDI. I found a 99er V70I 2.4 Beziner with 140 hp. This one probably has the new engine in it, which was installed only in the 99er and 00er model. As I read, this one has an electronic throttle and is the throttled version of the 170 HP engine. Is there anything genative or positive to report? Is this engine durable like the other engines or like the engines of the 8er series? Can this engine be simply off f 170 PS tunen? I know all the flaws in the 8s now. Is that the same with the V70I or has to be checked in other places. The car mentioned has 230,000 km on clock, ZR+Wapu has been proven. There should be no maintenance jam and everything was done with the friendly. In addition with sunroof, climate and the full equipment program. So I praise myself. I will look at the car next week and, if considered good, strike.

  • Purchase advice V70 D5 2004

    I am looking for a V70 II D5 163 or 185 hp. As a ceiling I have 12.00€. Less is of course better. Last I looked at one http://fahrzeugdetail.meinestadt.de/…/overview?… The price in the display is without VAT, since my wife is self-employed we also buy without. Our Golf Plus would be paid with 6000,- net. TÜV is new and has the following flaws: All brake blocks should be changed, hand brake too much “game”, tires little profile, track rod head too much game. Car comes from Italy. Mei father-in-law is a very savvy screwdriver with his own workshop. With him I could carry out all repairs (let). The material price incl. tires (225) is so at 1200,- € max. Overall I would come here at a quite favorable price at a good car. What do you think?

  • Bad thing: General braking failure (!!!) at higher speeds

    Hello, I just came from the AB and there I had to realize to my horror that with my S60 from speed 140 the brakes generally fail: Tempo 240-250Km/h for test purposes a full braking attempt (AB was empty!). The pedal could be pressed a bit far, however the braking effect was maximum 1/3 of the expected delay. I then pressed the pedal with full foot force, no better delay any more. Shortly afterwards the message in the display : DTSC Off, Ge White as a lime wall slowly continued. After 2 minutes the error message went out. Again fully into the iron (about 100-110 km/h). Everything as it should be, strong delay, with the typical ABS noise (which was missing at high speed). New attempt (AB still empty!!!) 140-160 km/h Attempt to complete braking: result as on the first time. Display message: DTSC off- speed decrease. Again accelerated to 140-160 km/h and full Into the brake. Strong delay, but without ABS “tue”. When the warning message again tried a full braking. Result repeatedly frightening: maximum 1/3 of the braking effect….. At low speeds everything seems to work best, I tested that, but as soon as a higher speed is driven, I can no longer brake properly (if DTSC is switched on). What madness, Volvo and the brakes…. I’m just happy that I can get through a brake. If I fly at 250Km/h to a stray truck, I have no chance to slow down the vehicle quickly enough, which would probably not be a problem with a really funcratizing brake. My estimate is that I drive at least 180-200Km/h (!!!) , while I should actually be at 100Km/h… A catastrophic condition, there is no error message before. And if it comes to that, you look stupid until you have a No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

  • Sport exhaust system S60 T6

    Hello together, can someone give me a tip which sport exhaust sounds good at the S60T6 AWD? Shouldn’t be too loud or roaring. Any experiences? Greetings Florian

  • XC70 -> End traction (pre-examination ART2007 😉 “Cool, it’s raining mud!”

    Hi together, on 13.01. I had the opportunity to use the Haldex again in my forest. Although an off-road operation was not planned at all, but the favor of the hour offered a preliminary test of fitness on the ART2007. What had happened? Well, the XC in the hanging farm could not turn on the usual place in the forest, and had to be turned on the adjoining meadow (which fortunately also belongs to us). This was unfortunately on the slope, this was very wet, ergo: Mudrace. But here e in the impression of the conditions on site. 1. The way in the forest was, although VOR Kyrill, to clear my advance command first …

  • A question about the four-wheeler at the XC90

    Was just in Croatia in Ulraub and the there hotel parking place had been in some places very scenic. So I stood slightly sloping below the paved road at a relatively steep embankment and wanted as a cool SUV driver easy up the slope. But Pustekuchen, every time the front left wheel had less grip through the slope, this only turned through and the whole car did not move any more – at least forward – My question is now, Wouldn’t have had to drive the rear wheels in this situation in order to push the car (and me, of course, not so cool anymore) up? Could something be wrong, or is the all-wheel drive at the Xc90 already overwhelmed? How can you test whether the all-wheel drive works? Greetings Patrick P.S. Croatia was by the way a dream, only unfortunately also become quite expensive….
