  • Tires at the end after 4-5 years?

    Hello people, have raised the summer tires and found that they are brittle on the side wall and have some small cracks in the rubber. The tires are DOT 0707 or 0908, i.e. just 4 or 5 years old, profile good 5mm. The Michelin Premacy HP were also always nicely dry and dark stored in the basement on a rim tree. Are I here about poor quality of Michelin? So far I always had good experience with the manufacturer. Will go to the TÜV tomorrow and ask if the things have to go down. A new set of tires in the kitchen size 205/50 R17 costs good 600€ Did you have a similar case? Greeting, Nightflight

  • Parkrempler, directional bench, tailgate still crooked

    Hello guys! I just made a terrible discovery at my V50 T5. I wanted to put a chrome strip on the tailgate below (by the way look pretty good). I tried to put it there. When I checked the result I noticed that it looks kind of wrong. I thought it was my fault, because I noticed that the tailgate is wrong. Stands on the left a few mm in front of the rear lights and a few behind it. So it looks like it’s hanging to the right. My wife missed a lantern last fall when parking. Damage was reported to the VK. Costs 5600,00 Euro. Car was allegedly according to the invoice (which I received only on special request in copy, with VK billed directly) on the direction bench. Question: Can/should that be then? What can I do? Can they talk out somehow? For professionals I still have a photo of the damage. Thanks for your answers.

  • S40 2.4i does not always start directly :-/

    Hello together, for the first time have a little problem with my S40 2,4i from 2004 (34,000km). And it sometimes does not jump on the last days or only if you tap the accelerator pedal very briefly. After that the cold run runs directly up as usual and it runs without murmuring. The same was now as I did before, so the engine was still quite warm.   • Battery question from the volunteer Estonian

    Hello everyone, right in time for the falling temperatures here again a question that has to do with my 850er and its behavior in Nordic conditions. This time it’s about the battery. At the moment I have a Varta D26 with 510A cold start current and 66 Ah capacity. Since at the local temperatures after the second start attempt is anyway, in my opinion the capacity is not the most important (even though it would be nice to have a bigger battery). But now it was only -2°C cold last weekend, and already there was nothing more going on. So far the battery has kept well (the old box has already survived two brutal winters under the open sky), but now a new one has to come. In the booklet is under the battery specifications “520A/100”. Does that now 520A cold start current and 100 Ah capacity? Can someone help me? As far as the available batteries here in Tallinn are concerned: Almost everything, from Bosch over Exide to Varta is to have been found. But so far I have neither one of my current battery nor one of the indications in the magazine to make a stronger battery pass?

    Hello currently we drive as a second car a small Smart Diesel. Consumption despite commuting via highway <4l. Only we are looking for an alternative - and have also thought about Volvo (i.e. i^). The facelift 2009… you can certainly be different in taste… but the car has also become significantly heavier… what really became (I know: front + minimal rear, LED lights, as far as I see other tacho number sheets) everything so changed? Did knarzen (already read complaints there… would you like opinions too!) or similar by additional stiffenings reduced / switched off? Was what changed on the interior (display/tacho/switch/switch)?     Hello, earlier when I drove an Audi, I had a service booklet for the vehicle, in which all the work to be done was listed during an inspection. Divided into all 30,000, 60,000, 90,000 and 120,000 km. There you could always look up what came to one at the next inspection. Unfortunately I miss such a listing in the Volvo service booklet.   • Volvo Xc 90 D5 Built 2016 Internet Problems

    Hello together! I have a problem with my elk (XC 90, built in 2016): We bought a Volvo XC 90 last year and have been having problems with the Internet since then.The car has a modem where we have a data card of O2 inside.Wifi works without any problems,so everyone can access it.I have read that the car can also download apps,such as Spotify.But that doesn’t work with us.Since I have another warranty, I have visited a Volvo workshop and after about half an hour I was told that a control unit was broken.That’s what they replaced,but in the end it didn’t work.Since then, the two other control units, the cable set and the multifunction antenna (costs are over 7,00€!!!Good that I am there with a lawyer) have exchanged.Now the workshop has rendered my car to me and said that everything would be on the data card.The car can only be 3G and my data card can LTE.Can this really be on it?If yes, what can I do?

  • XC90T8 and culant from Volvo

    Dear half-sweden, I have a T8 Bj 2016 with 61500km with the following problem. He suddenly got off the stand and didn’t hit any more and announced with a blow/knall no longer to repuperate, after 10-20 meters he has recuperated again. Now the (two independent) service advisors told me that it will probably be the electric/gear unit, Volvo would want to make an update for cost reasons. Of course an update does not fix any mechanical Proble 😉 but if Volvo says that. So I was back in the workshop a few days later, then the inverter was replaced ^^ , of course also without success and I should take over the cost of 741,-€, because my guarantee takes over only 80% of the costs. A culant request was rejected. After my vacation I am back with the same problem to the workshop, there he is now for 3 weeks. It’s the gear Erad and electric Erad defective and metal chips in the gear and I should now pay once again 941,-€. Volvo doesn’t like to take part in terms of the premium brand? I don’t like to say that I’t share the same with my warranty.
