  • Tacho fails sporadic

Moin Moin, I have the following problem. For a few days, my speedometer has been sporadically out. As soon as the speedometer spins, the cruise control and the odometer fail. What could this be?

  • Range

Hej, since I am on holiday with my XC70 in Sweden again, I came up with the idea to stimulate a collection of the possible range information in the display of the vehicle directly after full fuelling. The range shown in the attached photo arose after longer trips on almost flat country roads (with small proportions on forest and field roads) with my XC70 AWD D4 with Polestar performance optimization and large roof box at medium load. I find d it is a very good value and I would be interested in what values other forists have achieved. The calculation of average consumption in many cases yielded values around 6 l/100 km. Many greetings from the island of Gotland Waldelch

  • Volvo V70 bj. 99 – ECU defective ?

Good day, I’m new here in the forum, had already read yesterday with you and describe the following problem. Wednesday I start the old Volvo V70 to go shopping. Jump on briefly, and go out again immediately. Otherwise everything in the green area, speed normal, no warning signals or messages. Several times tried, time and again the same game. Now as a woman I am not a car mechanic and have a towing to a workshop in which I was already, – organize The next day, the total disillusionment. Workshop called and said that they had read out, that the control unit would probably be defective. A new one would not be worthwhile for the old treasure (the Volvo), costs would be in the four-digit range. I knew that I could not afford it now. Moreover, the lamda probe would not be in order (I already knew that) and probably the compression in one of the cylinders would be a little too low. There I was fix and foxi. I had a little chat with friends and I found you here yesterday and read something. A friend of mine is an electrical engineer who said that we should expand the control unit and he would check the soldering points. My husband opened the hood earlier, we found the part, opened the door and looked stupid. There is only a box in the box. I took a picture once. Of course, I don’t know which part is missing now. where’s that left? Workshop certainly didn’t open it, they’re reading from somewhere else, or not? Can’t you reach anyone on Saturdays, of course. I’ll let you take the photo I just took, maybe you can tell me if it’s the engine control unit now what’s still in there and the immobilizer is missing or if there’s only one device in the Volvo. In the pictures I’ve seen so far, there were always 2 such boxes in it. , because a) I’m attached to the Volvo, b) I can’t afford a new car now, but I’m pretty dependent on it.

  • Cooling water temperature rises

Moin Moin has a question. With my 850 the cooling water temperature rises again and again to the red area. The engine is within one kilometer to normal temperature and after another 4-5 kilometers it sometimes rises quickly to the red area. Water level is ok. and fan seems to do it too. Someone’s idea. Oh yes from the heater comes only a lukewarm ventilator.

  • Volvo 850 soundystem

Hi, I have to install a sound system in my 850 2.5 20V. Up to now only the front loudspeakers are installed in the amature board, but the others are also wired from factory. My problem is the cables probably do not arrive at the radio, because I first got 2 loudspeakers for the door loudspeaker shafts in front for the test (JBL). Their connection does not fit to those of the Volvo even though they should be suitable for it. You can connect them anyway, abe r they don’t make a sound of themselves. It also looks like the cables don’t arrive on the radio. Has someone similar experiences and has found a solution. Ps of course I also thought of simply rewiring the whole thing but that’s a huge wall since you can’t lead the cables to the door very easily in a 850er.

  • AHK for C70 BJ2000 – Electrical connection

Good evening! I have used the search function actively in the last 1.5 hours, but I do not come closer to the solution. With about 6 months delay I had finally found and bought a suitable AHK fixing and e-set. Original Volvo part, only article number I can not find on it. In the FZG 2 plugs are installed – see picture. These are connected to the lamps, I have measured already with multimeter. The socket is the version with 13 connection point, has 2 plugs on it, a 6-er, a 4-er, 2 cables are loose. In the 6-er 2 cables are connected to a pin. In the box 2 cable sets were supplied, where 2 fuses were in the cables, but the plug types mounted on them were not found at all in the trunk. The seller bought this also so, but did not come to his project time => no info about it. Is it necessary to install fuses between the vehicle and AHK socket into the cable? Or can I install the socket infac h connected to the 2 plugs and is it finished? Thanks and greetings: Balázs

  • ABS control unit screw rounded during removal test

Moin together, yes, I made it, a screw around the control unit And yes I am a douche, because I didn’t want to hear and took a 4 nut. Meanwhile I also have E5-E18 at home, but it’s probably too late, the E5 slips over it. I had now sent me an E4 now, in hope it fits with hammer hits on the head, tried this on a removed screw, you can forget! Unfortunately it’s also the screw where you have little Is there any other way to do this?!), down above the automatic bell. LuFi box is outside and the rope pull is pulled to the side, free access to the screw…what to do??? I see for myself now two possibilities: 1. remove complete block and strangle screw according to known scheme or 2. carefully flex a slot with the Dremel and try to get to success with a slot nut. Does someone know a tool that could still save the situation? but I’m rarely stupid either. Greetings and thanks in advance, Markus.

  • schooon again

I don’t think so slowly anymore… my Mondayselch is already sick again for the 4th time now a wheel bearing is over the rear right and makes itself noticeable with very “pleasant” surren. Next Thursday he is again in the workshop before we drive in the evening over 1’000km into the Easter holidays. After that the 180’000km service is due where still the defective keyboard lamps are directed at the radio, the defective handbrake etc……. I believe the Grosselch feels that his successor on 16 . April will be configured he is already greeting from the BEO Stephan

  • Volvo V70 purchase advice

Hello, I’m new here and looking for a new vehicle. The Volvo V70 is the first choice for me in space, because I need a big station wagon. And what you hear is that they are quite durable. What do you think of this natural gas vehicle in particular? What are the experiences compared to diesels in terms of cost? The litre costs are lower in terms of natural gas, but the consumption is also higher. Another advantage of the natural gas vehicle would be that there is also a green one. Environmental badge has. Unfortunately, this vehicle has no cruise control :-)( Thank you in advance for your tabster tips

hello – I would like to see a s60 2,4t bj 2002 with supposed 114tkm – but how am I sure that the km is also correct? there is the possibility at volvo to have the memory read out – does that bring what? or is the there km level just as easy to manipulate as the tachostand? with worried greetings björn
