Hi dear Vikings I am looking for a timeless classic as a convertible. I had to think about my childhood and the beautiful C70 of Volvo. Since my budget is rather small and it is supposed to be a car for the 20 years upwards for 4 people, I found the following offer. https://suchen.mobile.de/…/details.html?… I found this offer at mobile.de: Volvo C70 Cabriolet 2,4 Automatic Climate First registration: 07/1999 Kilometer level: 406,000 km Fuel type: Be nzin power: 142 kW (193 hp) Price: 2.699 € I know that the mileage is very high. But except for the last service everything was done at Volvo. Timing belts were also changed. And rather a cared for with a lot of kilometers than an unkept with little. I want to look at the car tomorrow. Now unfortunately I do not know the specific weaknesses and am grateful about every advice. Greeting Hannes

Volvo V70 or VW Passat
Hello community, I’m facing a small problem. I have to have a new car. My budget is 10,000 EUR I’ve now looked at some Passat and Volvo V70. I tend to V70 myself, therefore this forum too. The Passat is solid and more favorable in insurance than the V70. The V70 has the larger trunk. I also heard a lot negative about the somewhat newer models of Volvo. Now I have an appointment for a visit to a V70 vo tomorrow. n 2006, 2.4 L at 140 hp Time is pressing because my Madza is standing in the garage and every start becomes a surprise. The air-conditioning compressor is defective, clamps and blocks the engine. If it goes on then it sounds like a bucket of screws, because the magnetic coupling is also broken and how crazyly scrapes. 1. What would you advise me to do? 2. What is the reliability of this V70 model? It seems a bit strange to me that a 2.4 machine has only 140 hp. 3. What should I pay attention to at the K on a V70? What are the problems? 4. I don’t know if I can drive on the highway tomorrow. Does the car pull properly? Hope for your early answers. Thank you, Jens.

S60 T5 ABS ECU Exchange
Moin-Moin, I have recently been driving an S60 T5, BJ 2001. Sporadically he showed me an ABS error after starting, so I decided to expand the ABS control unit (which was relatively easy), open it (which was the worst) and solder the pins. I was not so satisfied with the final result, on the one hand optically and on the other hand also technical, because the error was thrown again. In the bay I have then cheaply a ”functional” device with the same part number g The battery-clamping procedure has been adhered to (5min.). Now I have a ”DSTC-maintenance required” error in the BC. After extensive research I could unfortunately not find a 100% answer to the following question: If an ABS-control unit is replaced and a foreign but suitable device is installed, does this have to be learned or registered at :-)? ABS works with the new unit without problems. (Let’s assume from this, since ss the Stg. works and was deregistered to the old Fzg.) I would be very happy about answers and wish you a happy new year! Greetings, Andre

V70 D5 2.4 when starting the engine ‘Motor maintenance urgently needed’ Volvo disease?
Hello, for some time now, I have received from my Volvo V70 D5 2,4 (Type 2) the message that (allegedly) an engine maintenance is urgently required, but after 1-2 km this message disappears. Is this a Volvo disease or should one take this problem more seriously? I am grateful for any helpful answer

Purchase advice S60 D5
Hello, I’m just busy with whether a 2002 S60 D5 could become a suitable car. So far, only vehicles from the other Swedish car manufacturer are in the garage 😉 I need a diesel. Since I don’t want an Opel engine and no German manufacturer would be a Volvo actually the logical consequence. Except for a V70 of the first generation with the 2.5TDI I don’t know the diesel at all at Volvo. Is the D5 an engine that you can also use with higher running speed The 2.5TDI is now driven by a relative with 320tkm without any problems and my Saab also have all the running power beyond the 250tkm, all without problems. What do you have to pay attention to with the S60 in general and the D5 in particular? Are there any extraordinary repairs or constructions? For example for the clutch change the engine has to go out and similar things? Thanks in advance

Polestar XC60 D4 190PS
Hello to everyone, has anyone ever had experience with Polestar with the XC 60 FW D4 with 190 hp? If so, would I be interested to know if you can even notice the low performance increase of 10 hp. The torque should increase by 10%, can the moose move faster and more sparingly? For an answer thank you in advance. Wishes a nice long weekend greeting Herbie

Engine system maintenance required – Further procedure
Hello, I have a question about the following facts for you: Last week Sunday I filled my car and after that suddenly the “motor system maintenance required” display appeared in the display of my VOLVO V 50 2.0D, which has about 176,000 down. I didn’t notice anything while driving, no power drop or anything else. After that I was with a friend who works in a free workshop today and was so friendly to read the error. Result – Number of errors 3: -Glühzei In addition, the auto mechanic has found that diesel has leaked out of an injection nozzle. If one could probably see the engine like this (I am Laie this plus :/). My question is now whether one of you has experiences or an idea of what the cause is and what to do. My friend said, since you have little experience with Volvos in the workshop, it makes little sense to all of you. to eliminate possible sources of error by repairs and thus repair many unnecessary things. I would also like to know if you would not advise me to continue driving or not?! I would be very pleased if you could help me further. Thank you already in advance! Erik

New larger turbo
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if any of you had a new bigger turbo installed at a T5? Does it also bring something to install a new KAT? What else could you do besides chip, sports exhaust, candles to get more power out? Thanks Feda78

Crack drive shafts! Glue or lubricate????? What’s right????
I have the well-known cracking of the drive shafts. Both sides and that gets on my nerves. Now of course I have read a lot of things and read a lot of contradictions. The one writing that you should “stick” the shafts with a special resin. The other writing that the drive shaft toothing is to be lubricated. And… I even read about changed sem screws, you should take those from the XC90. What is the right one now? Glue or sm What about the new (modified or reinforced) semscrews. Can anyone give me reliable information? Unfortunately I did not find anything in the Vida.

V50 2.4i Air conditioning problem
Tach, the air conditioning of my ELCH, V50 2,4i Bj2007 has a problem. Whether the climate works is a bit happy thing. i.e. with 70% probability it works at a cold start. The whole thing is usually 10-15 minutes good, then only warm air comes off. with a little bit happy I can then bring the climate by skilfully turning off and on again 10 minutes function. But that was it then. With a warm start it looks even worse. Z bad to not at all. The calender was filled up and transferred with a contra agent. But no visible leak discovered. The compressor magnetic coupling is off and on. OBD diagnosis I made with VIDA DICE – apparently the magnetic coupling sometimes gets off. with the free friend I was already – which meant that with 90% probability the compressor is broken. could it also be the capacitor? or both? thank you for your help Frederic
