  • Engine damage 2.0D?

Hello, I was last with my Volvo V50 2.0 TDI Built 2008, 100 000 km, a rather unanguishable experience, I wanted to overtake a driving vehicle at about speed 60 and when I stepped on the gas he suddenly lost all power turned very high (short under red area) and it squirted so strongly white/grey out of the exhaust that the entire area behind me was squealed. I drove to the side and pulled off the key, but did not help, I had to choke the engine. The first diagnosis: Particle filter completely closed, which was then reported during error reading. But the change did not help either, so an additional Tubo loader damage was diagnosed, which corresponded to the symptoms also 100%. Also the new Turboboloader did not solve the problem. It still did not start and the attempt to to tow the vehicle also ended with the symptoms described first. In the meantime, this has cost a lot of money. ie (free) workshop, that ev. a piston ring could be broken, but to diagnose that would continue to cause costs and if so, the follow-up costs would be even higher. Has someone ever experienced something like this and is it worth spending more now to finally get diagnosed with an engine damage? Thanks for your help!

  • D5 engine defective?

Hello, since my C70 II has been running mostly impeccable so far, this is my first visit to your forum! He has now run 260,000. I had a failure of my air conditioning system about 3 years ago (no longer cooled) and have not yet had it repaired for cost reasons. After that he showed me the engine maintenance warning, did not put on properly and I left with my screwdriver which is not a Volvo workshop but one of the typical cheaper allrounder, that check. Fault memory probably showed something with the throttle flaps at the time, so they were replaced (my workshop probably took some help from a Volvo workshop for). Then it was a long time again. In between I was at a Volvo dealer, because I do the inspections alternately at a Volvo workshop, sometimes at my screwdriver. This told me when I told him about the story that this error message was possibly wrong and by the Fe I think Fuchs ik listen to you and didn’t react very quickly. Sometime later, however, he finds again to have no power. It is so that he pulls in cold the first 4 minutes or like a 40 HP car, after that it gets better but not the level that he should have. I was b an error message is no longer there but the limp performance is unchanged. Now I’m thinking about whether I should go to the Volvo workshop or to my screwdriver – what do you mean what is defective and how expensive this is going to be? I want to drive the car, which has experienced many of its kilometers on highways in its first 5 years, actually for many years and therefore not to repel it. But I want to d don’t pay 2,500,- where maybe a repair even only 1,000,- must cost if you know inn about what it is… Thank you in advance for your help !

  • Ever sought. Finally found. A Volvo newcomer introduces himself.

N ́abend. Yes, what is in the title could be a book title, no question However, it describes quite well the long way I had to go in order to finally find a vehicle, which is satisfied in almost all matters – in some even surpasses After I had asked in the Volvo part MotorTalks already 2x for a purchase advice, (http://www.motor-talk.de/…/…kaufberatung-v70-ii-2-4t-t4789275.html , http://www.motor-talk.de/…without-guarantee-buy-t48148 43.html?… ) I have now been able to reach the potential 3rd offer for me. Although I had to correct my planned budget a bit upwards, but can now call a V70 II from 2005 in the special edition “Move” my own, which leaves almost nothing to be desired for players. A few facts: 2.5T in black, 167tkm run, from 1st hand, completely and completely maintained with Volvo Checkheft, manual gearbox, Four-C, full leather, (pseudo)Bixenon, RTI, telephone, stand-up heating, Te Chnikpacket, and and and. After I was able to start the first single exit today, I am more and more enthusiastic about what a pleasant, charismatic appearance of the V70 mediates. From the outside, And that the 2.5T is a dream of engine, I probably don’t have to tell here anymore Something is cloudy but also: With every switching process comes a dull “glong” from the direction of the drive train. Why ever, I probably overheard this during the test drive. or screwing the drive shafts belongs – is this about this problem? Greetings from the north. PS: I take photos tomorrow in daylight times a few.

  • Speed over 160km/h and GAS operation

Here I have a V70II (Bj 2003) with a front gas system (built by Volvo – system operator from Germany (Brillon)). This car got a system in 2008 and has this probably about 60-70Tkm in use. Current driving performance about 135Tkm. You get from all sides submissible hints and horror stories about the valves. Some say when higher power is required (WoWa operation or AB with 160 and more). The others: That’s all nonsense and d he motor (2,4) can do that already … and more. How are the experiences with this. I very much adhere to the specification …. but my predecessor, which it had built in?….. There were certainly 50-60T on his side. Experiences and advice? Gorden.

  • Volvo V70 R

Moin, I couldn’t let it happen again and so I am again faced with the decision whether it should not become a V70 R! Now I ask myself whether it should become a prefacelift or facelift model. From the optical point of view I tend quite clearly to the old Vorf. I like this already with my current V70 better and is for me simply more Volvo, as before Volvo once was. But are there also clear arguments for the facelift model? I know that the all-wheel better and weni I think it’s the most important thing that the R is in a good condition when buying it. Is it actually a disadvantage if the first angular gearbox is still installed at about 120,000Km, so that means that it could soon come to one with a MY 2004 model? Since there are some R drivers here and many others with good knowledge I thought that I would just turn to the forum! Greetings Non-grained

  • Purchase advice V70 III T6

Hello together Since my V40 has come into the years I am latent looking for another car. In question come for me a V70 or a V60. Must criteria are – gasoline – automatic transmission. Autoscout.ch unfortunately does not give much at the moment, but the two offers might be interesting:V70 2.5T, 09.2007, 78’000kmV70 2.5T, 07/2008 25’000km What do you think of the vehicles? What is to be considered with the V70 in general and in detail with this engine-gear combination? Where must ic In spite of the long efforts of the SuFu I have not found anything about serious problems here. I can not say anything to the sellers in general. I would naturally prefer a Volvo dealer to both of them, but I don’t have to say anything. The blue one still has 12 months guarantee. How durable is the V70? Is it possible for the cars to have a mileage of another 150’000km and 6-8 years? I thank you in advance for your help and advice. many times! Greetings wamic PS: In a flight of sense I could also be enthusiastic about the:V70 T6, 11.2011, 86’000km [edit von boisbleu] Thread renamed to V70 III T6 on request.

  • Cylinder head gasket – ratchet

Good evening, I need your advice. I’ve been driving a Volvo S60 Cross Country (5 cylinder diesel) for two years. I just think the car is great and I don’t want anything else. The car is almost 4 years old and has only run 60,000. The problem, I had my car at the Volvo dealer. The car has a massive cooling water loss. Well, it was confirmed yesterday that the cylinder head seal is gone and it has to be replaced by a cylinder. The question is: would you sell the car because the engine has been intruded with such a low mileage? I just have my concerns if the repair does not last long and I am asked to pay for it in a few years, because the guarantee no longer applies. On the other hand, I would sell the car, but I would still get good money. Or should I not worry. What do you think? Dan. no for your answers.

  • Automatic – Yes or No?

I’m looking for a Volvo. Either S60 or S80. Budget between 4000-600€, BJ 2006-2009 A former Volvo mechanic, who is now self-employed, however, advised me not to have an automatic on a vehicle of this age. He meant if there is something broken that can cost me a few thousand euros. I have already read that one should pay attention to certain things during the test drive during the circuit. However, since I have no idea of automatic gearboxes it will be f What is your opinion about this? Are there years of construction where the possible problems are more likely than others. Would you like your advice? Thank you.

  • XC60: Expand USB/AUX interface

Hello, someone knows how to remove the USB/AUX interface in the XC60. I want to install the iPod holder from Volvo, but somehow have to grind the USB cable differently. And doesn’t really want to work around too much or even break something. Does someone like you know the part in the middle armrest, the plate on which the USB and the AUX are connected, just take it out without what you break? Thanks mac99

  • LED registration plate lamps V70

Hello, I am now proud owner of a Volvo V70 D5 Kinetic first registration 04/2008. I am still happy about this purchase decision. Now to my question: Has anyone of you ever installed LEDs for the license plate lighting? Although I found all-purpose LED ́s incl. holder via various search engines, which do not have to be registered, however, I have my doubts at the “universal”. Other alternative I had found were LED ́s which can be directly in d it plugs in existing lamp holder, however, these are not approved for road traffic. Who with experience on this topic can give me there tips regarding procurement and installation. First of all thank you…
