Hello Forum I drive an XC 90 D5. Can someone help me, with almost every ride I now have after a short time total power failure (break of a second) in the instrument cluster. Pointers go to “0” clock, Km counter incl. T1/T2, Temp. display disappear and come back immediately. Also the daily kilometer counter as well as the odometer during the disturbance always goes back to the last stored km. I was already in the workshop and have to load a software update The workshop also solves, but maybe someone already had this problem and could give me some advice. Gruss Claude

Cousin wants to buy volvo S 60 2.4l turbo gasoline or D5
As mentioned in the title, my cousin is looking for an S 60 2.4l turbo petrol or a D5. I don’t know so well about the S 60. But what worries me is that I often read exactly the S 60 often has a problem with the throttle valves. I just wanted an S 60 Turbo petrol or D5 between 95 000km and 110 000km. How about the throttle valves now? Can problems with the throttle flap occur at such a few km.? Would the D5 or the 2.4l turbo be better? Would be nice if you could write down your experiences with the engines and in general S 60 to me or those who had to replace the throttle valve. (would be nice if you would mention certain repair costs) gruss jimmy

I’m new here!
Hello. I finally got a Volvo yesterday. (V70 BJ05, 2.4D 185PS.) I’ve always been a Volvo fan and as soon as I can pick up the Swedes, I’ll be able to join you. Unfortunately I’m a layman about cars. Maybe you could look over the car I bought, even if it’s too late now. I’d like to ask you a few questions. 1. Can someone tell me how reliable or how good the Navi works? (2005 Model) 2. Mine has a Volvo. already 165000 KM on it. Does someone have so much, if yes, there were bigger problems? 3. I wanted to get a tub for the trunk, can someone recommend something to me? 4. I would need new summer tires soon (225/45/17). There are really many tires, can someone also recommend something to me. Limit was about 100€ per tire. 5. And finally I am looking for a page where I could order parts. For example, I am looking for a new cover for the trunk for the fuse box, at the old one. The plastic lever is broken. I had thought about scrap yard but maybe someone has another suggestion. Thank you very much. Greetings The New One!

Watch out for this car!
If you are interested in the car here, be careful!http://suchen.mobile.de/…/205959533.html This is my age C30 (see below!). Even the letters to the C30-Forum are still there… It was obviously turned at the kilometer stands. I sold the car with approx. 205tkm (according to the sales contract as well!). Now it has suddenly only 198tkm! I don’t want to know what else was done! Otherwise the car was so great… Nu https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2947/15368320511_b72fe50de2_b.jpghttps://farm4.staticflickr.com/3891/15184977687_773db92b41_b.jpg

S40 2.4 – Drowning/tubes/rumming when starting
We drive two Volvos with the 2.4 petrol engine, one V50 (2010; 50,000km) and one S40 (2007; 124.000km); both machines, thus quite well comparable. The S40 has for some time a very rough, loud, roaring engine at the cold start. Comes from the engine compartment and sounds a bit as if the exhaust was leaking at the front. When driving off the car the noise is quite loud. Over the first 500m-1000m or so the engine noise becomes always quieter and then normal. The consumption is around the 7.1 L (is cruise route in Switzerland), it needs some oil (100 to 150ml/1000km), rarely it squats briefly when running on the highway. After warm starts the S40 behaves quite normal, hardly up to no tubes/crumbs… The question is now: what can this lie on? Let the worry and workshop check or drive up to the service (is at 130,000km, approx. mid-October)? Thanks, all on all sides good journey and bes te Greetings Peter p.s.: by the way, the engine noise has nothing to do with the higher turning idle when starting, that’s what our S40 and the V50 do over the first 30sec at the stand or until you put the automatic on R/D and start driving.

XC70 – A few questions
Moin forum friends, maybe it’s because it’s about to be consecrated but in the last few days I thought about replacing the Dickelch of my better half with an XC70. Not that we wouldn’t be happy with the 90’s but technically it’s not quite at the height anymore. In addition, our old four-legged friend has so much to jump into his box, the Ldekante is relatively high. So XC70. The first question concerns the GT in conjunction with the D 5 Engine: I read somewhere that the starting weakness is still a topic. Our XC90 is equipped with GT and needs a few moments, until it finally starts. So, from your point of view, the combination GT with D5 engine has improved compared to earlier (we drive a 05 XC90)? Does all assistance systems work with the circuit? Furthermore, a question about the Polestar power increase to 230 hp. Does anyone of you have it installed in the XC70? as with the 215 hp variant? Can you confirm that there is no additional consumption? Last but not least the auxiliary heating: Is it right that in the XC70 of 2013 electric heaters are built over and that one therefore has to order the auxiliary heating and the function can no longer be unlocked? Thanks already for the answers and beautiful Christmas days Texan

(Chip)Tuning XC70
I think about a field optimization or a chip tuning of my XC70 (year 2016, 2.4 D4, AWD, 133kw/181PS, approx. 84 tKm) after. Of course, you can be divided here, about the whether and above all how. Maybe you can help me to make a decision, because I belong to the drivers and less to the screwdrivers 1. Is a field change better, or a a tuning box and where exactly are the differences (for a layman)? 2. Are there any risks that speak against it (I don’t guarantee any more)? 3. Is the promised fuel savings really to be realized? 4. Vmax cancellation? 5. Which manufacturers are really recommended (Polestar, RaceChip, BSR)? Who keeps what is promised? 6. What else to consider? Thanks a lot already xc70ww

RTTI update for the Sensus
Moin, I had my sensus updated by Volvo to RTTI. An update that is really worth it. The sensus reacts faster and smarter. In the past, the sensus often only reported a traffic jam when I was in it – now it takes me by (Stau am Horner Kreisel in Hamburg – who knows it….) But it was not easy for me to get the update. I called my dealer, there the update was unknown. The consultant said that I want the cards aktu It took me a little while to explain to him what I wanted (not RTI but RTTI) but then he wanted to get in touch with Volvo and get in touch with me. That happened a short time later. There would be an update like this and it could be done. Date was arranged, update started. Unfortunately I didn’t have any Internet access in the V60 anymore – and that’s a prerequisite for RTTI. So the car went back to Volvo. After the second attempt worked. Everything. Pleasant side effect: The parking sensors don’t sound so annoying anymore. It’s probably not just an update for the sensus. Also the Navi reports now: The goal is on the LINK/RIGHT side. Didn’t make it before. Conclusion: For €49,- incl. control a significant improvement. I can really recommend the update.

xc70 D3: How do you recognize Turbo-Tausc?
Hello to each other. I call an XC70, D3 automatic from 2010, model 2011, my own. I am a third-party owner. Now I have read that partly the old Turbo was changed to a new version. Unfortunately I don’t have a service booklet and also don’t know which Volvo dealer the vehicle was before. The previous owner doesn’t know if the Turbo was replaced. Is there a way to recognize this somewhere on the Turbo? I look forward to relevant information. Out. Best regards Thrusty
