  • 850s for 50tkm a year… am I making false hopes?

Hello, short introduction: I drive privately about 50tkm a year and now there is offspring. Something bigger has to come here. New / annual car is not in question with me because the value loss per year would be simply extreme. I need something reliable, affordable with charm. Now I have the Volvo 850 R (in dark green simply horny) in the eye and will briefly look at one that attacks the 230tkm. If the 850er is technically ok I CAN expect from the car that he will give me good P the next 200tkm accompanied? I know you don’t have a glass ball either but the 850 would probably be a good candidate or? Thank you very much.

Hello, I want to introduce myself now officially here. I bought in early April a Volvo V70I, 2,5l, 144hp, B5252S for my sister. She wanted a car, I made a Volvo Meanwhile I managed a lot with the help of the forum. However, I still have a few things to worry about: 1. The vehicle hangs on the HA quite deeply, as I find it. He has Nivo dampers and comes up after a longer ride minimally. I mean, however, that it is actually significantly higher so A picture is in the appendix. 2. When fully refueling, he loses gasoline at the transition between the filling tube and the tank. Or maybe even bits further up. There is a seal and a bell, but the clamp at the place looks stainless and almost new. Where does he lose gasoline if there is a problem with the venting? 3. He loses cooling water, about half a liter on 100km without seeing at which point. Starting he does well since he has a new KPR. Main suspect is t the cooler itself at the transition metal plastic, right? 4. He has a Brink AH?, but no keys. And based on the number on the AHK, neither Volvo nor Brink can deliver a replacement key. They want a multi-digit serial number that is not on my AHK. Just on the first and fourth point I would be interested in your assessment.

  • Purchase advice Volvo XC 60 AWD

after years of driving Mercedes and the problems there will come ever faster and sooner the next car will certainly no longer become of Mercedes own. the problem was always only rust and transmission the first W203 with the 5G-Tronic still stainless and the transmission went at 190.000KM grinding it had already after 2years the plague everywhere and all fenders, doors and bonnet were replaced and the rest was painted, the transmission 7G-Tronic rose b The GLC goes back to the dealer prematurely because rust after 6 months and at 21.000KM the 9g-tronic over. I am therefore really thinking about whether I should not take the Volvo with a manual transmission. nice on the Volvo automatic is however that I can force the gearbox into my gear in manual mode and can also roll away with 70 in the highest gear without the same wild to and fro. what is less beautiful is that you have to buy for almost all packages although you can know things don’t want, for example, an XC60 in the basic version would be enough for me to have Kinetic and I would like to have the Navi, darkened disks and Xenon. the rest naja nice to have and much to be broken. for the business package or the light package I could just warm myself up but because I buy only half-year car/year car as a rule because the value loss is simply too extreme the first months. will be a little difficult in the market because a Kinetec first order r rarely takes AWD, Xenon and navi to it. so you have to rely on something higher-quality momentum or sumnum to get these extras. almost always, however, the driver assistance package is there and that makes me worry most. as long as they work they are certainly quite nice but whether the 350,000Km in 5years is always the question. someone has already dealt with it and can say if you can deactivate all these assistance systems if they are defective without there s you have to replace ECUs or sensors ? or simply put it it is possible that I just shut them off if they have failed beepers and finished or have these systems to follow that they always add the error memory that eventually the car won’t work for me and I have to have them forcibly repaired?

  • Questions about Geartronic (GT)

Hello Forum, I recently bought a Volvo V70/3 EZ 01/2008 D5 with 185hp with the 6-speed Geartronic. The older man had bought it again at the time, the car has almost 78TKM down. Mainly short distances were driven and this in very defensive driving mode. What strikes me with the GT, that the performance comes badly from the “Quark”. If you drive e.g. from a road from the stand or at low speed to a junction or a roundabout then it takes a little bit b This can lead to dangerous situations. Otherwise there are no abnormalities now, the GT does so as far as right, sometimes it stays in the small gear a little longer when accelerating, although you would already switch up at the hand switch because a certain speed is reached. Also no noise when changing the driving stages. My questions: – Is it normal with the model, possibly because of turbo hole? – Can you do something, it is an ad aptive GT, e.g. transmission reset with thanks for every hint greetings Thomas

  • V70 III Premium Sound a Disappointment

Hello COMMUNITY 🙂 Since Saturday I have been in possession of a new Volvo V70 III (2015) with a premium sound system (Harman Kardon). The sound is not world-class, as praised, but intransparent, muddy, unbalanced and in comparison to the sound system of my old V70II year 2003 scrapy. The high-tone controller brings e.g. hardly audible changes, whether off or fully turned up. The Volvo mechanics only determined that music comes out, tweeters can be heard when you hear your ear completely. The question arises: Is something defective (frequent doubles), adjusts (software) or is the system not as high-quality as promised. Do you have experience here and do you have suggestions for solutions?

  • LMM or Lambda probe

Hello dear elk friends, some time ago my engine lamp lit up again. it wasn’t ignition coils or candles this time! I drove a few hundred km so on without problems. suddenly on the highway he started to jerk like crazy faster than 100 km/h and without giving big gas didn’t go any more. ok at home spark plugs out and hoppla all black! I cleaned them and deleted the error and it went again. however after some time the motor light came back. ok have me a n eue lambdasonde put in. 30 km driven and hoppla light went on again! I deleted the error again. however he consumes far too much spret and he has not really steam any more he comes at his speed, but it seems to me, as if one of the cars is stuck from behind :-). my kfz workshop means it can be something on the turbocharger or the lmm. has another idea, before I let the parts change now gradually for expensive money. komis It’s always just a mistake, but unfortunately we can’t tell you what kind of building??!! gruss aus hessen

  • Timing belt change and water pump

Hello dear, our V50 2,0 D, year 10/2004 has now 210000 Km on the clock. Now we think of course so slowly about the timing belt change…prescribed probably at 240,000 Waiting for the last pusher, we don’t want that. Now I just called a Volvo workshop and the nice lady said, around the 950 Euro and if the water pump was with it, she doesn’t know. Well, if that costs so much, then we have to live with it. Now comes the very big “abe r” .. There are also quite free workshops and we also have someone who at least changes the timing belts at other car brands in a “tank shop”. For that I would have to buy the material (as he then passes through me). I remember my old Opel even earlier, that was really not a thing. But “formerly” was a long time ago and Opel is not Volvo. So what do? Volvo, Free or “College”? Is special tool necessary? From the belly I would say, free works att. What do you think? Greetings Grille

  • Why is Volvo so expensive in Germany?

Moin, actually I had already become accustomed to the price level of the German Volvo dealers. But after I had been disconnected for a standard service (50tkm) with my S60 D5 last month actually 637€, it was enough for me. Since I made a nice holiday with my family last week in Sweden, I thought about asking at one in Strömstad what the repair of the GSM phone costs in my XC 90. Here in Hamburg I got an offer of approx. 800 € for a new phone module was made. I was told that a complete telephone set had to be ordered, of which I only have to pay the required part. In Sweden the change of the phone module costs 3386 SEK which corresponds to 366€! On the subject of service I got for my XC 90 2.5 T GT year 2007 with 80 tkm an offer of 3507 SEK = 379€. But even one litre of motor oil with 200 SEK = 21.6€, which is as well as we all know is not a special offer. Volvo Germany off? Why do the so-called usury prices?? Well, with my S 60 I could certainly have pushed a little bit on the price screw in advance, but that would not have been so different. And 27€ for one litre of oil I think is exaggerated. I will be back in Sweden for Christmas and have already made an appointment. Here in Germany the en my cars will only see in exceptional cases. Would really be interesting your opinions on the topic to read. Greetings

  • Help! Wheel change S60 – Clamp rear wheels

Hello together, I wanted to mount the winter bikes on my S60 today, at the front it worked without any problems but the rear wheels sit bomb-proof, wheel bolts are off, no problem, but the wheel itself does not give in a millimeter, has already sprayed rust solvers in, but so far no effect, on both rear wheels. Is there perhaps a trick 17? Cann’t it be that it only hangs on the rear wheels??? Many thanks and greetings, thunderbolt
