  • V70 with PRINS system 67l tank capacity switches to petrol too early

Hello, I have a problem there. I had my V70 converted to gas. The PRINS system was equipped with a 67l tank (reserveradmulde). Now I have the following problems: 1. Already after 300km the diode display shows red. When I then refuel, 32l go in. 2. If I just drive the car further, it jumps with the well-known “IchbinleerPiepen” at 400km on petrol. When I refuel, then 40l go in. The tanks are only up to 80% can be filled. But 80% of 67l are 53,6l. The must Now I saw a 53l tank in his car at the gas station and asked him how big the tank is. And look, 67l. He told me something about a membrane that can be adjusted and then he wouldn’t switch so early. But sounded like a dangerous half-knowledge. I would need reliable numbers when he would normally switch to petrol and would be interesting as long as the green diode indicates. Greeting André

  • abs control unit Schmodder at the contacts

Hello, now our V70I has also caught it. The ABS light is constantly shining. The wheel sensors are all ok, so it can only be on the ABS control unit. We suspected the often mentioned contact problem and wanted to solder the corresponding contacts. We found a small guide for this too, but unfortunately it was different. We started to expand the control unit and were pretty scared. We expected a dry clean contact order. We found completely filthy contacts. Both on the connector and on the control unit. An undefined broth swiped around the contacts of the control unit. Water was probably not. It was too viscous. Now the real question: Can someone tell us what that is? Photos of it are attached. Are there capacitors in the control unit that can burst? Or are there any in the plug housing? Can one still save the control unit according to your opinion or does it have to go to the trash? Thank you for your help already. kaninchen2

  • Beating sound in right curves, but not always

Now I’ve heard it again on a ride today, and it’s not funny. I have a polter or impact noise in right curves. It only occurs at (higher) country road speeds (80-100 km/h) and only in relatively long, evenly driven right curves, with already clear centrifugal force (but of course still below the border area, I ride Volvo-like saddled). It doesn’t occur in city traffic and e.g. also not on highway-up/downhills or in shorter distances. There are several single strokes to be heard, about every half second to one second, but not rhythmically and apparently not correlated with engine or wheel speed. Since it occurs rarely overall and is not predictable, I still couldn’t check whether it goes away while taking gas or braking. Someone’s an idea?

  • Help my engine doesn’t start anymore

Hello dear MotorTalk Friends I have a Volvo C70 Bj: 1999 2.5 T engine code B5254T. This one had a motor damage. The engine was replaced. After done work the engine jumped on and I made a test drive. During the test drive the car lost power (strong jerking and no speed ) until I finally stayed down. Vehicle read out: camshaft sensor defective. This replaced and deleted error. Engine still jumped on but then went off and jumped off the ni The following things have already been checked: – petrol pump – throttle valve – injectors – ignition time – fuses – spark plugs Now I am finished with my Latin. Does anyone have any idea what that could be? For any kind of help I am grateful edit by boisbleu: Photo deleted due to personal data

  • Hydropumps clack more and more

855 GLE Automat, 10V, EZ 11/1993, 165 TKm Hello experts, my hydro ́s are clacking longer and louder after the morning cold start. So far it took only a few hundred meters, now I have to drive approx. 5 KM, until the clacking stops. Did the last oil change before 250 KM times at a chain (witzer). Supposedly Liqui-Moly with man filter. Can it lie at the wrong oil filter?. OIL is 10 W 40 (I always drive) Thinner OIL drives the oil consumption strongly up. Who has ever had new hydros installed and what did it cost? Greetings Friedi

  • V70 II – buy

Hello people I play with the idea of replacing my v50 2.0d with a v70 with 163 diesel ps – after the test drive I especially liked the sound of the engine. in Ö there is an edition for the v70 with quite good equipment a few small details to add and the new baby bomber would be ready! a few questions about it: 1.) is it true that you can switch off the stand heating software moderately – and therefore you do not have to order factory 2.) is the v70 II a reliable car? 3.) what s 4.) how do the inspection costs behave and in which distances d inspection must be made 5.) I hope that the model runs out on good percentages – what can be expected when I bought my v50 the dealer also wanted to turn me on a v40 and the price was hot on something like that I hope also at the v70 thanks beebeard

  • Planning XC90

Hello, as a long-time Audi customer I think about “going abroad” and buying an XC90. Is after all just nicer than the Q7. Is there any hint that Volvo will possibly bring a new model in the next time (1 year)? In addition it would be interesting to know if a stronger diesel is in planning. There is something spoiled with the brand with the four rings. I had already found a thread about it, but then got lost in fundamental discussions 🙂 D anke schonmal für alle Hinweis

  • Heating/Qualm from the heater/ nice estimate from 🙂

Hello people, please ask for your advice. I have already searched the many heating/coating topics and also Elchwiki. However, the following problem arises with my S60: the vehicle already had the heating function when buying it. Nevertheless, at lower temperatures, it smokes violently from the engine room. Thanks to forum my suspicion was on the heater. The 🙂 the problem was described, today I got an estimate of almost Eur 240,- fue Now my questions: 1) if the heater is already “drin” or has been activated, why is there still the problem with the heater? 2) Who had/has the same problem – and above all: are Eur 240,- justified (for what?)? I find this amount very heavy for a problem known to Volvo. 3) do I correctly assume that there is only one solution, namely the deactivation of the heater? In other words, in order to avoid short distances. To get warm air in the morning, do I have to activate the timer of the Stanheizung every time? Thank you for your inputs.

  • Buy XC90 D5 with 95,000 km or not ???

Hello, since I was convinced by the test drive with the XC90, apart from the less great elasticity, I am thinking about whether I should accept the offer to the Volvo dealer. XC90 D5 Summum, AHK, DualXenon with cornering light and the rest about 95,000 km, EZ. 06/2006 1.Hand admitted to car dealership Summer + winter bikes 23.500 Euro What do you say as an experienced person? I take too high a risk with the available kilometers. Alternatively would be a 2005er with about 50,000 km for 28,000 E uro. Are there any problems over 100,000 km? MfG

  • Purchase advice: Saab 9-5 or Volvo V70

Dear people I am faced with the decision to buy a 9-5 or a Volvo V70. I am open to both brands (run at the moment a gifted 945) and have already been owners of 9-5 or 900 I. That I do not post the request (not yet) in the Saab forum, perhaps suggests that I can really still decide freely?! (oh the subconscious can be so deceptive) The Saab has advantages in terms of equipment; so he has bi-xenon, leather and a carbon armatu The engine is a 2.3 with 185 hp from 2004. The Volvo from 2003 has the cooler color (red) and otherwise only the smaller engine 2.4 with 140 hp (so can be called a nudity screw). Perhaps at first glance a clear thing… Are there any other advantages per Volvo that I don’t want to see at first and second glance? Both have similarly few kilometers on it (against 65 000) and would be by the dealer with Gara Why would you tend? With thanks and greetings!
