  • Volvo 850 dead electrics

Hello municipality. I plan to buy a Volvo 850 Combi. It is a 2.5 ltr.10 valve with 250000 km total running power, EZ. 08/1995. I already had an identical 96er with great satisfaction in.Used, but it was cold-deformed recently by a driving beginner. The new one is well preserved, 2nd hand, well maintained, but suddenly no longer starts, without visible reason. i.e., battery is ok, mass connections also, according to previous owner. He taps on them ignition plate. Do you have alternative causes? The car is 400 km away and I don’t want to go there for nothing. Cost 450,- with 8 months rest – Tüv. Gruss Micha

  • Volvo V70 Bj 1997

Hello ! I have a question today about the expansion of an old standard installed radio. Since there the whole lamp should say goodbye I want to install there a new ( used but ok ). Now I got to hear from jmd that you have to disconnect the battery before the expansion otherwise after error messages appear ( zb airbag control etc ) .. the radio would probably also be a kind of control unit … sounds logical for me since also the display for the immobilizer da dri As a replacement radio, I would also have an original as I said …. I don’t usually know that you have to disconnect the battery … Ev knows of you if this is already the case with my year of construction..? I don’t have a chance for error messages and also not for having to have to be friendly because of such a dödel …. Thank you in advance ….

  • Heavy steering problem

Moin Together, I have a pretty heavy problem with the steering. In the middle position the steering is so easy that it feels like steering play. When steering then a sudden strong resistance, the steering is extremely difficult to walk around then again easily at the next moment. Independent of the steering impact. In addition, you can feel in the steering something mechanical, like a broken bearing. The problem exists for some time sporadically but extremely since yesterday. What did I do: Where yesterday the steering wheel was replaced and turned the steering wheel in the stand with the engine switched off to get to the screws. Because of a missing “thin” Torx I couldn’t get any further. Battery jammed, started, steering extremely heavy and servo pump made noises. Today into the company and off to the stage. During the ride the steering wheel was found to be slightly crooked. On the stage then with standing engine the steering went rough, with running engine significantly better. changed, built everything together again and removed the white ring at the bottom of the rubber hole, cleaned and greased. Had the lower cross joint still in suspicion and greased it, but when driving home the problem was not solved. Better though, but not gone. I’m baffled to be honest! I found some threads that describe a similar problem but the solutions are missing. From steering gear to dome bearings to moved auxiliary frame everything is included. I would almost exclude the steering gear. But store auxiliary frame on suspicion, cathedral warehouse, cross joint on suspicion is already quite an effort! Does anyone know the problem? Do you have tips for me? Puh, fairly long text and hopefully reasonably understandable greetings from S-H and best thanks in advance chriss

  • Grate removal

Hello, if we were here in the Mercedes W210/S211 forum, the users would laugh to themselves But luxury problems are something nice, right? -My `99 V70 TDI is the rustiest one I know, because he has a few small spots, among others in the rear wheel boxes. To those I have put to rest today with sandblasting gun and 2K epoxy resin primer. Mostly I only had to radiate loose lacquer layers and zinc oxide away. In two places, where to strengthen the rear seat. On the outside these sheets are pointed, but it was only possible with sandblasting fast+grundlich. I used about 10 kg. Beam material. The thick, closed porous layer EP819 is in principle already quite alone “viable” in terms of corrosion protection, nevertheless I make still a layer of plastic body (Teroson Record or so) on it, and then for the optics car color or the next best dark blue colour, which my paint rack gives. Then come the Radha wessels back in, and I don’t need to waste any more thought on rust in the wheelboxes the next 2-3 winters. Greetings Chris

  • Again tires…

Hello municipality, I have found nothing suitable in the SuFu, So just a new attempt: I want to equip my C70 II with new shoes and I’m torn back and forth between Conti Premium Contact 6 and the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 5. M. E. is the Goodyear a little quieter than the Conti. Has someone from the community made experiences with the Goodyear? I don’t care about the price. The Pirelli doesn’t go at all, especially since the one with the load capacity 91 m. E. is overwhelmed. Always driven this tire. I am grateful for every info, Greetings Klaus

  • Diesel electrics exchanged, now problems V50

Hello. I changed the Dpf with cables and differential pressure sensor incl lines before approx. 5000 km. Now this error message always comes. ECM-2A00 pressure sensor Particle filter signal too low ECM 2A20 particle filter Error signal – is active before exhaust gas return control ECM 4477 flow too low and ECM 6720 flow too high. From time to time, it enters the emergency run with the message Stability control maintenance. After restart it works again. How can I find out? Did the additive itself replenished a year ago. The AGR has just been reworked. Have a Volvo V50 1.6 80 kw bj 2009 with 198000 km To answer I would be very grateful. Thank you.

  • XC70: the newer, the more regulated?

At some point I change my XC70/2010 (135’000km) against one with less km. If I look at the technical data on autoscout, it is noticeable: With the 205 hp engine 215 km/h Vmax are listed, (which is also my experience) with the 215 hp engine only 205 km/h. I only need the speed sometimes (far more important to me is the torque of the D5), but in the summer half year in good weather morning at five on empty highways – I already run the thing. nn this data? If yes, I wonder: Are the newer ones simply more regulated? (What can probably be improved with a chip tuning.) Or the stupid variant would be yes: the newer ones are shorter translated? Thank you very much for every kind of “response”.

  • Which XC60 with diesel

Hello forum, happy new year, I have planned for this year to replace my V70 from 2004 with an XC60. Unfortunately I am not so of the technology Freak, but I have heard from the dealer that there are now almost only 4 cylinder engines. But for reasons of smooth running I would like a 5 cylinder diesel and for cost reasons a used one. Up to which model year were 5Cyl. Diesel installed? If I look at mobile or so, I often see 120kW D3 from e.g. 2012. Is the comparable with my previous petrol engine, also 120kW? Need the car as a everyday and touring vehicle. As a towing vehicle, Volvo is unfortunately out of the question. Greeting Thomas

  • Map update XC60 Model 2015

I want to download the current update about 18GB. If then everything is on the stick and is in the car it seems to be a “self-runner” according to the description. How long does the installation take in the car? And what happens if the journey is interrupted?

  • XC90 Pedestrian Crash Test ADAC

Hello, today on “spiegel-online”: “Vehicles are as dangerous as moving walls”http://www.spiegel.de/auto/current/0,1518,467437,00.html Well, yes, it’s a bit sobering, if not unexpected. It’s not just about your own safety… and we should all be aware of that. A little consolation after all is the third place under the wide competition. I’m curious if the BMWs are also led in the ADAC magazine in the detailed test. knowing prefers not to put SUV at all – rather not in the test at all than bad in the test? busy2 who is already at bad glance…
