  • V70III, but which engine at 15tKM per year

Hello, after the purchase of an old V90 failed, I will certainly need a new used everyday car in the near future and my heart always beats for Volvo, I have come to the V70III. I currently drive around 15000km at 10km working distance and pull off from time to time a caravan. My price limit is actually 20t€, better would be 15t€ if you buy such a vehicle without warranty. I have already read the purchase advice, se Your interesting and sea long. My questions are actually, which engine should you prefer? Is the AWD durable? Which year of construction should you avoid? Thank you for your tips! Greeting Andreas

  • Acid leaked from battery?

Hi! I opened the lid of the battery compartment and found the following (see attached photo). What happened there? Is the battery overcooked? Is there something spilled over during the installation or was the battery filled up and it is something spilled over? Had this time with my old BMW and could not make a rhyme on it. What should be done? Thank you for the help in advance! Michek P. S.: Background: With me the start/stop automatic does not work any more. In BC is considered Then this morning I got an indication that something with the battery was wrong. So I checked in the logbook and found out that the expansion of the large battery is described in detail.

  • Towing coupling, El.-Dose sometimes without voltage

On my V70_3, EZ 4_2008, a detachable trailer coupling (AHK) is attached. In the 13-pin electrical box or elsewhere in the wiring there is a defect. Pol 1 for turn signals on the left has no voltage. I worked on the poles with a file and contact spray, no change. The other poles, at least the poles relevant for an old trailer are i.e. the cables in the wire harness to the El.Dose are marked with numbers. Cable 1, which is responsible for the pole 1 for turn signals on the left I don’t see. (In many retrofitted AHK wire harnesses, the cables have different colors by default.) The wire harness on the El.Dose is poured into the plug housing. Is the cast material scraping out without destroying parts? I have tried to find the wire harness on its way forward, in the hollow of the spare wheel and on the fuse box in the D-pillar, at first without success. Does anyone have similar experiences so that I can shorten the troubleshooting with tips? is there more frequent cable breakage or contact interruption in AHK electrics?

  • V60 1.6 D2 = 1.6 TDCI Focus MKII?

Hello together, there is already a similar contribution here, but I would need some specific expertise on the situation. We think about taking over a V60 1.6 liter diesel 115PS BJ 2012 from the circle of friends. Basically everything was ok, but my last vehicle was a Ford Focus MK II 1.6 TDCI with 109PS and this additive particle filter. Unfortunately, it had no good experiences, which was due to my lack of knowledge and even less knowledge from the Ford workshop. in a nice car, but then dead faster than I liked. (Turbo+ engine damage was possible at 140,000 da DPF) So to the actual question: Is this exactly the same PSA engine in the V60 D2 as in the Focus MKII? Do the particle filters differ? Thank you and greeting!

  • Question on the 2.4l diesel

Hello hers! The following: I have read a lot about the diesel engines in the S60/S80/V70… in this forum. There are 3 different: 131 and 163 hp as well as the VAG unit with 2.5l engine capacity and 140 hp. Now to my question: is the variant with 131 hp (respectively 163 hp) a REINE Volvo development? Or a pimped purchase á la VAG, Renault and Co? I have read a lot of positive comments regarding enormous longevity, low consumption etc. That would be for the Volvo own development ng speak Thanks already in advance for the feedback

  • Hand brake pads S 80 destroy all rear wheel

Hello guys, yesterday my handbrake said goodbye with a loud bang and left a damage of about 2100 €!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only had the S 80 D5 Bj 2004 for 1 1/2 years and would have sung (until yesterday) only praise songs……… Now I read in various articles (unfortunately too late) about the known problems with the pads of the handbrake. Is there any possibility of culling on the part of Volvo? Do you have experience with workshops? Who can help??????? THANK YOU!!!

  • Windscreen wiper on headlamp

Hello everybody, my moose no longer has a wiper on one side. I assume that I lost him on the last washing road visit Do you know that? Do you know how expensive such a thing is? The arm, or better – the poor one – is still on it. But nevertheless the side looks pretty empty Many greetings from the West Dietmar

  • Upgrade Premium Sound?

Hello everyone in my XC90 have the high-performec system with separate subwoofer. At the time of the consultation my friend explained to me that the premium is not lone, since there is almost no CD which are recorded for this mode. After I recently made a test drive with a V70R, I fell out of all clouds. The sound experience with premium is significantly better. Can I now upgrade the premium? Thanks for your help Stephan PS sometimes have the feeling that the sub even If you turn it off, only small differences are audible. Can you trim it in a submenu?

  • Change the steering wheel – make it yourself?

Hello, my original 08/15 standard steering wheel is not so nice anymore. Would you like to have a nice one for the beautiful one. Can you change the steering wheel yourself? Isn’t the airbag without it? Would a four spokes exchange for a four spokes, the exchange for a three spokes probably requires the exchange of the airbag!? And, what can such a steering wheel cost? Where can you get it reasonably? Too bad that the leather steering wheels did not exist as standard, is a real flaw at my 2002er Greetings Roemi

  • When timing belt change – Service booklet vs. Volvo-EDV

Our S60 2.5T (model year 2004) is seven years old, has run 120,000 km and was always scheduled for inspection at Volvo. When I wanted to register the car for inspection, I was completely surprised when the computer of the contract workshop spit out the 140,000 km inspection plan including timing belt changes. We bought the car again at that time, and the original service booklet, which we received with the vehicle, expressly sees the timing belt change only at 160,000 km or every tenth year. I do not intend to change the timing belt already 40,000 km, or three years earlier than indicated in the service booklet without a plausible explanation. This is our third Volvo and we have not yet experienced such a thing at any brand. The dealer is apparently himself “victim” of his computer and could not explain it either. Does anyone here in the forum perhaps have an explanation as to how these inconsistencies can occur?
