Hello community, this weekend my winter tires have been raised, because I have to drive in the mountains because of work. You never know when the first snow comes. It will not last for a long time. My summer tires were almost new and have now left in front to the wear indicator. Outside it is still good 4-5 mm. The rear tires are completely ok. The tires are about the dimensions 225/45 R 17. I had air pressure at the front as well as at the rear on 2.7 bar. ch say that the steering wheel has been slightly crooked since the purchase (used car) and that it easily clatters and vibrates at the front axle in the event of road unevenness. Could this have something to do with it? My fear is that if I have the track set in the workshop, the actual error (perhaps a broken component) will not be fixed, I pay money for it and find out after the winter that the winter tires have run off again. Because they are brand new. and what would this cost? Hope you can enlighten me.

S60, trouble in gearing
Hello first to everyone, since March 09 have a used S60 2.4, year 2001, and for some time the problem occurs, which I can only put in a gear with effort, where it is relatively no matter which gear it is. This Phenomena does not occur however, but at irregular intervals. Someone knows the problem and possibly knows a advice. My kinder thought I should first let the transmission oil change (could be handled via the used car warranty, which I have, He also said.) By the way, I am new here, so please for understanding of beginner mistakes. Greeting of thevolvolangener

Trade in S80, but take what??
Since my S80 has been in the workshop since June and they have not been able to carry out the repair properly, I have already suggested that the said hands should take my S80 into payment and then I buy another vehicle from it. Now I have made two vehicles in the short choice, but am unreliable which and whether at all: 1.: S80 D5 (new model), 11/2006, approx. 49.000km, 185hp, switch, beige., leather beige (also steering wheel, switch etc., so see r bright inside), hands-free equipment, otherwise usual equipment. Excellent for approx. 25,000.-€ 2.: XC90 T6, 05/2004, approx. 42,000km, 272hp, automatic(4 gear!), black, full equipment, 7 seats, AHK – approx. 27.000.-€ What will ultimately be the purchase price, must then be negotiated – are the excellent prices. Do me a favor both cars, the XC90 is the most important place (especially with children) and automatic. At the S80 the diesel is much more economical, abe r Handswitch. (My next one should actually become automatic again – now also always annoy me about the constant switching) Normal I tend to something more to the XC, but I have already read a lot of negatives about the search especially to the transmission and therefore have now thought that I could get problems with it again at some point. What do you think, would the XC be worth considering or are the models soo vulnerable that I should rather leave my fingers away from it?

Strange sound
Hi, I’ve been hearing a high-frequency sound for a long time, in my opinion from the left side of the dashboard, after leaving within a maximum of 5min. I almost think it’s normal, but I’m not quite sure. Maybe someone has had something similar before and can confirm my guess. The search for forums gave me nothing suitable. So, the whole thing only expresses itself as long as the car is cold, so up to about 2/3 of the water temperature. high screaming/screaming sound, similar to the screaming of winter tyres on wet road, for maybe 3sec. and then goes away again. After about 30sec the same game again, then sometimes a third time and then eat away. The air conditioning has as far as I can judge, no influence on the noise, just as little as the engine speed/speed. From 50km/h you can not definitely hear it out anymore, at 30km/h however very clearly. it immediately, if I do a minimal Schlenker with the steering wheel. As soon as I go straight again, it comes again, with a Schlenker it disappears then immediately again… Greetings, pingu 861

Purchase advice V70, S60 or S80
Hello, I am an absolute Volvo Newbie and would like to ask a few questions about the Volvo models. Can you please explain to me in which classes the models S60 and S80 are to be classified (size)? S60 = 5 Series, A6, E-Class S80 = 7 Series, A8, S-Class or was that wrong? I am looking for a successor for my A6 2.8 Quattro automatic 193PS suction cup I tend to a model from 2003 with the 209 hp 2.5T engine. Is the engine recommended? Or should you choose the 2.4T from 2001 or even the 2.0T also in Bet I have set my price limit to approx.13K€. I often ride short distance <20Km but he should also have enough power to drive fully loaded with 4 people + ski box in ski holidays. And sometimes to pull a 1500KG trailer. Annual speed approx.: 15Tkm I would again tend to an AWD because 2 times a year ski holidays and occasionally trailer rides. Or can you do without it? In the gearbox my choice would tend to hand-operated because the automatic would swallow too much power t. How good (maintainable) are the machines from Volvo? Own development or purchased? I tend to the V70 but the prices for the S60/S80 are also very interesting. Just the question if you can ride with 4 adults + luggage comfortably 800Km on ski holidays? I think the V50 falls out because of the size even if I like it visually very much.

Navi ex factory or later ???
Hello, one question concerns me and I would like to hear the opinion of the forum. I intend to purchase a used XC 90. Now the Gretchen question is with Navi or without? Beautiful is the retractable display at the Werksnavi. Is simply chic and it does not disturb any cable salad or suction cups on the disc. Another clear advantage are the wheel sensors, which make the whole story even more accurate … … but otherwise … for the extra charge you get already a good mobile Na vi. Maps are almost the same anyway, since there are only (I think) two manufacturers. It’s a little bit more inconvenient, but you get to the destination and I’ve never missed an exit 🙂

Electric question.
Moinsen! I send ahead: I am the total electric legasthenic! My battery seems to be over, though, it is not. Previous owner is not even 2 years old (factory: sunshine). Have started the car several times with starting aid cable. Then it comes immediately – quite normal halt. Today I had measured the battery before: 0.14 volts! deep discharge? Or what do you call it? Did the car then run about 20 months. At the battery I could measure 12,8V about. Then car a us – and immediately made a start attempt… NO MUCKS! So when the battery is gone – by deep discharge, because there e.g. a consumer pulls electricity… Then I would like to get to the bottom of the matter Question: How do you measure such a thing? Multimeter available! Something with ampere? Greeting, Andi

Vibrations when starting M66 gear conversion from ZMS to EMS Meaningful?
Servus people, I have noticed that I have been searching for gear in the area of gearboxes, you can hear well in the stand. With the entered clutch pedal the noise is gone and I let it go it is there, but not always, and I increase the engine speed in the stand then it clacks louder, sounds like a bearing damage of the conrod, but fortunately it is not that when the clutch pedal is pressed it is gone. If it is still the first ZMS from which I am going to go then it is after just under 240tkm fa So now I’m still thinking a little bit, when driving as soon as some load comes up, the car starts to vibrate, but goes away with increasing speed and speed, yesterday also the drive shaft right changed, could have been this one has got away. But nothing, how do I notice if there is a gear damage? that can also come from vibrations or not? And can one without consideration with the 2.5 liter Turbo petroler a one-mass swing wheel it is a V50 from the BJ 2004 with 5 cylinder turbomotor, or is it better to stay on the two-mass swingwheel?

Gear damage, total damage?
Today I was on the road with my Volvo V50 2.0D when the power was suddenly abruptly gone and the gearbox made a massively gruesome noise. It smoked heavily from the exhaust and I then rolled slowly to the road wheel. I then tried to start the engine again which only succeeded after about 5min. I then carefully drove a few 100m, switched on. But also a lot of me that the clutch made strange noises. Tow the car. What’s going to happen? Gear damage? Auto V50 2.0D, BJ 2009, 190,000 Should I adjust for a total damage? PS: I had the power drop (without gear noise) a 1/2 year ago, after that the diesel filter was changed – until today everything went well.
